Thank You Dr Veer, That was Fascinating and the Collaboration between You Two is Fantastic. You do Great Work, I read Your Description Box! I watched You a few years ago, I think I'll Start again, All the Best to You, and Have a Happy Christmas!
Thank You Connor for Sharing this With Us, Great Collaboration Between the two of You! Are You going to end being an ENT Surgeon, You're Very Brave to Do This Procedure! All The Best Connor, and Happy Christmas to You!
Same here, came here from Conor's channel to see the explanation. Thank you! The drawings helped a lot. Very nice video! I am fascinated by the ear. Crazy things can happen..I didn't suspect it was trying to make a whole new eardrum! 🤔
I know you did the drawings out of necessity due to privacy and consent reasons which is really good of you, but also i appreciated the drawings a lot because it made it very easy and clear to understand the situation you were describing! You are an excellent teacher! Great work solving the case
I'm just a person who is casually curious about the way the body functions and malfunctions, but man, I've been thinking about that patient for about a year, imagining how annoying that issue must be for him! I'm THRILLED to hear that there are some options for him. Thank you for letting us see what a good doctor collaboration looks like behind the scenes.
Thanks so much for the drawings and explanation Vik! I came to watch because I watch Connor’s videos. Great idea to collaborate! Very informative.✌️❤️🙏🇨🇦
I don't have much knowledge of medical terminology, but I was able to understand what you were saying thanks to your drawings. Thank you for the explanation.
Conor sent me, but I was already subscribed and love both your channels. Conor is super dedicated and professional. You are super talented. I could not love this more!! Hugs from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
I reallly realöly love when professionals group up and are helpful together! All the more when it's strangers pulled together by an unusual case! Very glad for the patient!!!
I watched the original video and came here. As a total layperson, this really does not need to be re-explained in simple terms. Your drawings and explanation were quite comprehensible.
incredible, this is amazing stuff guys, I get to look at something interesting and learn about it and then I get to watch the ENT add another layer on information on top,. they should teach like this in school
Thanks for this! I'm inspired by the level of expertise that exists in the world. And love the spirit of curiosity and the drive to help others learn and heal. What a great example of what humanity can be.
Not enough +1s available for this video! This is really fascinating content and makes me appreciate the complexity and self repair capabilities of the living body. Little preprogrammed cellular automata marching out in accordance with their programming, even if it matches them over a cliff (or across the ear canal). It's amazing that with a little coaxing you can redirect them in the proper direction.
Wow thank you for posting this very informative video. Everything about the ear is complicated and highly interesting. I’m already a subscriber of Conor and have learned a lot from him. Thank you again. Cheers.
wow, now i wish i went to medical school, its so cool! thank you for the detailed information and ilustration! it makes it way much easier to follow along!
Doctors helping other doctors on TH-cam! What a world! Think back just 30 years ago. You'd be spending months emailing every other ear doctor you could find in the ear doctor directory looking for opinions, with really bad photos. Simply amazing. Social media is good .01% of the time.
1:45 are any of those inkblot studies (or any newer ones) free available or are they all published in those super prestigious journals that most out of field people (so since this is an ear study, most non-medical people) don't subscribe to?
I expected the cause but have no idea how to solve I might suggest a slight painful option if I don't watched the video making some wounds at point where canal and drum meet that probably cause more bad than good (by wounds I mean some very small scratches; abrasions? Not sure English is my second language) and try to let it repair the damage on its own having a few visits like 5-10 days checking what's going on yeah probably more bad than good
I can’t believe that I “caught on” due to drawings, particularly the layering of membrane. It was an “aah” moment and I am not an audiologist. Whodathunkit?
Hello dr i am a patient of obstractive sleep apnea. Few year ago septoplasty was done. After few year the breathing problem start again. Now what should i do? Should I go for dental or facial surgeon? Or will I go to ent surgeon?
Is there a name of this condition? I’m a family practitioner that is trying to refer out to an ENT specialist and I’m having a hard to finding a diagnosis to link to this.
If I were looking for a natural, non toxic treatment for this, and I lived where it was legal, I'd try a 1/10 ratio of live rosin or other activated essential oil of that most medicinal repressed plant product, to coconut oil, and put about 10-20 drops in my ear a day...
Thanks Vik, will get this chap in and try the technique described at 5:03. Will document if I can, best wishes. Conor.
Yep agreed. also I noticed that it was only part way over the TM so the scraping off the canal skin won't work. Good luck mate!
That would be awesome Conor! We get invested and love a follow up ❤️ as always my best from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️👋👋
Watching doctors consult and collaborate in front of us is one of the coolest things the internet has ever done

Fantastic Isn't It! Great Duo, Working Together, For the Good of the Patient! God Bless Them!
That is a fantastic 'collaboration' i absolutely didnt expect to see. Thanks for your video

A Cells At Work episode about this would've been a real riot

Brilliant teaching, and admire the collaboration between professionals.

Thank you for the explanation. Conor sent me this way. I love learning about this stuff and so excited to have found another ENT to follow.
So fascinating!
it is, isn't it... the body is amazing
@@VikVeerENTSurgeon certainly is, I’m in awe of your knowledge!
Really interesting! This is the benefit of specialists creating a dialogue. Thank you!

I seriously can’t believe that I was correct in my Initial guess after watching Connor’s video!
Thank you. I think I understand the problem. Whew!

At 5:05 when you mention fixing the new membrane over the existing ear canal skin, do you just overlay or is there something you use as an adhesive?
I just pat it down flat. Since it migrates you can't really glue it down, but that is a good idea.
Somehow I understood what was happening to that patient!
I can’t believe that I “caught on” due to drawings, particularly the layering of membrane. It was an “aah” moment and I am not an audiologist. Whodathunkit?
Do you know what it is yet.
Excellent stuff.

very snazzy solution!
Are any of your patients swimmers?
Lots
The drawings were probably more useful here however you should really look up 'fair use' if you are going to be doing youtube.

The drawings are not at all clear to laypeople. Wish Conor would address it, he has a way of making complex issues clear as a bell.
