The fact that Anubis, as a concept, is basically "The older it is, the more fighting experience it gets, and the better it is at adapting to future opponents" makes it completely possible for him to eventually adapt to Dio's time stop in this what-if scenario.
He would just need to predict what DIO is going to do in stopped time or better yet just take over Jotaro.

Dark Blue Moon's barnacles can drain the strength of their target and slightly manipulate the affected body part, so its incredibly strong.
Makes me think, during MiH, is Anubis vulnerable to rusting due to being attached to an inanimate rusting? We see that he can survive being torn to pieces, but I don't know how excruciating it would be to exists as several tiny pieces that got rusted away bit by bit

But I doubt rusted pieces would work, as we've seen that certain objects like Stand Arrows stop working when they get broken down thoroughly, ie the symbols on them gets broken
@@SlewedBoot25934 I doubt Anubis could survive being rusted into dust. The remainder of the sword is still a physical vessel that can be destroy and he can seemingly only exist in 1 piece at a time, otherwise he would switch to the broken off piece on land.

The end boss of the second arc?
Mao, holding Anubis.
Y'know, Mao. The guy that can read a person's mind down to their subconscious.
The combination of powers caused Anubis to evolve into The Truth. Capable of instantly adapting to match the capabilities of any foe he was fighting, so long as they were in Mao's telepathy range - and his range was *big*.
How did he lose? Well. A power copier was tricked into copying his powers near him. Since Mao cannot stop reading a person's mind, they wound up getting into a feedback loop of reading each other's minds. Until they both keeled over from the pain. Until then though, nobody could do *anything* to him.
But yeah, Anubis is way scarier than a lot of people give it credit.

My favorite combo is Anubis + Soft Machine
which would be able to deflate people with a single hit and almost took Bruno's gang out
-Both sword stands, Anubis could increase the speed and technique of Soft Machine
-Soft Machine able to deflate itself for stealth
-Two minor antagonists that if paired would be very strong
Imagine Anubis Polnareff vs Jotaro but once Anubis lands 1 hit on Star Platinum, it instantly deflates and looses.

I had a fan theory about Anubis. So what if Anubis’ sword was made from the same metal found in the meteorites that gift stands, which is why the Stand stuck around in the sword after his user’s death.
Imagine if ultimate life form kars picked up Anubis he would go from being one of the strongest characters without a stand to having a stand that constantly adapt and imagine Anubis's intelligence combined with ultimate life from kars that just might be like the jojo's equivalent of SCP-682.
If they were to meet they'd be unstoppable

Friendly reminder that Lang Wrangler and his Jumpin' Jack Flash can null gravity, making most stands and stand users ineffective especially since it will eventually suck away all oxygen from their bodies, and essentially has johnny's spinning nail ability except he can shoot whatever objects he loads his wristbands up with, like nuts and bolts. He literally required the main Jojo and one of the most OP stands in the series, Weather Report, to barely beat him.
And even then, Lang Wrangler lost because he tried a last-ditch attack. If Lang Wrangler bothered to disengage his stand before a collision with Jolyne was inevitable, he could have set it up again and Jolyne would have been dead because she has no chance to survive breathing in zero gravity.
Honestly its as strong as C Moon but it gets overshadowed because its not a main villain ability.
Such a powerful ability yet it belongs to such a trash character. In my headcannon, Whitesnake gave him this ability instead of it always being his.
@@Wattson19 He does use it well though, with his suction cups. But it is pretty likely that Whitesnake gave him his stand instead of him naturally manifesting it.
my favorite part about this fight is the simple fact that most of the clashes with anubis took place in broad daylight in the bustling egyptian city streets.

Imagine Anubis got Ultimate Kars, who can seemingly wield multiple stands and is well ultimate, using Hammon to make his attacks hit way harder and melt his opponents as well.

Another thing with josuke is that crazy diamond could repair anubis, meaning all it needs is that one part for it to be at its full glory, also allowing for anubis to use CDs strength to fire off parts of itself then repair the lauched off parts back to itself.
Anubis has been my favorite stand for so long but since no one remembers it I just say I'm a The World fan, we Anubis shooters got it rough

A character transitioning from fear of the antagonist they work for to growing enough to want to fight them, reminds me of Vegeta. He goes from fearing Frieza's overwhelming power, to discovering his own strength and being open to battling him on Namek.
I’d say something like a false cut could strike Dio off guard where it looks like he is cutting one way just to change trajectory last second. He would just have to predict where Dio would go, likely easy for him at this point in the alt timeline.
If I’m allowed to be blunt here, I think Anubis has the worst defeat of an antagonist in the entirety of Jojo.
I don’t know, Araki made arguably one of the coolest stands in JJBA, both in terms of ability, theme, and even lore and characterization.. and then he just had him dropped by some kid after tripping over a dog, literally forget his abilities, and then beg crabs to pick him up at the bottom of some river.
His defeat doesn’t really make sense to me either, he could’ve pulled free with Silver Chariot’s speed, and phased free of Jotaro, his phasing power got used as a joke and he just so happens to forget how to possess animals for his benefit? Kinda bad lol.
Anibus is a great stand and glad how he can empower a lot of other stand users.
Honestly seeing him control Jotaro, Josuke, Giorno, Bruno and more would be very interesting.
Anubis Crazy Diamond is probably surpassing Star Platinum in raw strength and speed, even if Jotaro is enraged.
Anubis Sticky Fingers would be unstoppable. Bruno is already creative and easily dodges stuff: with Anubis, he is a dodge-tank sword wielder.

I gotta give it to you Metas, I didn't think about Anubis much up to this point (let's be honest, there are A LOT of things happening in SDC) but you've shown me just how much potential this Stand has...I never would have realized that if not for your extremely entertaining video. In theory, couldn't Josukes' ability keep Anubis in his prime?
Plus ULK would be a threat with Anubis.
Since he can phase his blade selectively in order to cut through and around objects, the only reason he lost to Jotaro was because he wasn't expecting him to keep going after being stabbed, otherwise he could have just phased through his fists after he started punching the blade
Here’s the problem. He phased through a wall on accident. On pure reflex. As fast as Star is is he literally faster than pure reflex? Not even reaction but reflex? Unless he can’t phase through other stands it doesn’t make too much sense.
@@chasethecringewolf2195 I was thinking less reflex and more anticipation. Because of how fast Anubis adapts to his opponents and how honest Jotaro is about his do or die approach, if he had fought Jotaro one more time previously (Or at least had more prior experience with him than just Star Platinum catching him and snapping him in half) he would have expected him to try something like that before he even did it, and phase out ahead of time
@@helfire14 That is a possibility, like Anubis pushing the sword in maybe Jotaro used the momentum to break the sword as it was being pushed in. But still i think the time star platinum could react to Anubis wouldn’t match. Anubis already can keep up with Star Platinum so he can’t phase on reflex? Kinda seems off.
One slash to the brain and Dio can't activate the world before he's minced by the followup slashes. All he needs is Dio to be in arms reach with time stop on cooldown and Dio loses. Dio is prone to underestimating his opponents, so thats rather likely to happen.

Another character that would be busted to wield Anubis are most of la squadra, like white album, metallica, or the fishing hook pineapple headed guy.
But probably the most cancerous people to get it would be either notorious due to it being immortal and potentially able to catch up to any stand, or the guy who could swim through land. Since when his handler died to the muda, he got extremely creative with how he fought and anubis would only make him even more adaptable. Plus I doubt you could make a sword deaf, so that’s a bonus.

Anubis is rad. Was actually looking for videos like this a year or 2 ago, glad to have such an interesting and long one.
Finally someone gets it lol. This is the one stand that not only beat star platinum in close quarters combat but basically spat in his eye. He lost to Jotaro’s quick thinking but Star Platinum alone wouldn’t cut it.
Also big thing! If Polnareff could’ve figured out King Crimson’s trick then I guarantee you Anubis would’ve killed Diavolo. Being able to kill a main Jojo villain, thats impressive.

Great video! You did get one thing wrong though. Anubis doesn't boost the user's skill in using a sword, as noted by Polnareff when he fought Chaka. Even still, Anubis is still an extremely formidable foe.
Also, I'd genuinely wonder, in a what if: How strong would Anubis become if he possessed/was tamed by a master swordsman? Could he beat New Moon Pucci? Diavolo? Any of the strong people in JJBA?

Man now i wish that there was a fanfic about a alternate universe were anubis won against the crusaders and it just tells the story of anubises adventure and how he fights strong opponents and adapts to them and how he faces characters like dio, kira, diavolo, pucci, and maybe kars and how his personality develops and instead on focusing on fighting strong opponents and instead doing other things but still focusing on his goal of facing strong opponents

In order to wield Anubis without being mind-controlled, I think one could develop a strong enough mental fortitude in order to prevent possession, as well as develop with time a bond with Anubis where there is mutual respect, such as the way Soul Reapers bond with their zanpakutō spirits in Bleach.
The idea of being able to possess a prior Stand and also add Anubis onto this is intriguing…
Does this imply that other Stands can manifest as items? Or that Stands themselves can be “bound” to items by some means?
Thoth seemed to take the form of an item, and survived the defeat of its user…does it now exist as independent from a living user in the same way as Anubis?
Could Anubis compel a user to reforge itself? That would be intriguing to see.
If items can be imbued to a Stand to be wielded as additional Stands, then how many items could one person wield that have individual Stands?
How many Stands could one person possess in the JoJo canon?
There’s examples like Polnareff adding on Anubis, and you could have pets like Stray Cat as add-ons ( though that counts less as your own Stand and more like a pet under your ownership ).
There’s the aforementioned Thoth, but also things like Super Fly, so if you were a Stand User and came across Anubis, and then found yourself trapped in Super Fly, that’d be three different Stands you control…

How many Stands can one person possess? It’s a fun thought experiment.
Cheep Trick is another stand you can receive like Super Fly. To broaden the range there’s also sub-stands both naturally occurring like Sheer Heart Attack and Epitaph, as well as the artificial ones like Bites The Dust and Love Train. There’s also the case of DIO stealing Jonathan’s stand directly from his body though that’s limited to vampires. Technically the stands gained through special skills and artifacts like Pearl Jam (cooking) and the corpse parts, are fundamentally distinct from those that people gain naturally like the crusaders so it’s possible that if the requirements for each are met that the user would gain an individual stand for each.
This brings the count up to a potential +6 with 4 on the lower end.

i like to think the reason the stand is able to possess the sword is because either the blade or hilt is made from the same material as the stand arrow, more likely the hilt since the blade would give people stands, i haven't seen any evidence for this other than the hilt & arrow being the same goldish color and having similar ornaments but it makes sense to me

Anubis honestly is one of my favorites just because of how many Stand "rules" he breaks.
Makes anyone who wields him a stand user technically, is his own stand user, lets you have two stands at once, just being one of the oldest stands in the series (who knows, maybe what makes him so odd is he is made of the same meteor metal as the arrows), is technically a visible stand.
Just a rather neat tsukumogami reference too.

Anubis was one of the few Stands that actually managed to fight Jotaro at his peak in a straightforward fight and almost win. That's insane.

I always wondered if Anubis was still intact after being in Time Stop would it actually allow the wielder to move in Time Stop? Anyway it's a Stand I see most forget about but remember he can pass through matter and rematerialize. So there's a potential dura neg argument for you crossverse scalers.

I definitely like Anubis, another crazy idea for how powerful Anubis could potentially be, is that he can control his sword in, however, many pieces it’s in. So he could’ve straight up just cut the sorted into pieces. Turn them into like Shuriken‘s, then thrown them in the peoplehes fighting and then control them through that.
I think Anubis would be like puccie where he does a action ahead of the time stop and makes whoever a hard time thinking what should they're next move be

I really like Anubis because the fight with Black Polnareff and Jotaro got so close I thought Polnareff would’ve actually died or at least been very badly injured. I was so glad when I saw that Heritage dedicated 3 different characters just to him.

If he didn't tell people about his ability he would be insanely broken, able to undo unfavorable results. Also consider that he's likely allowing the people he chooses to remember so they achieve their best state.

I actually could see adaptation to time manipulation being feasible. Illuso’s spatial manipulation was overcome cleverly by Giorno and Fugo to the point that his demise was delivered semi-blindly. But it would be a hell of a task and he’d probably need near perfect conditions or to pick up something like hamon from fighting Joseph.
Anubis with Ultimate Kars would be interesting as others have suggested, but I think what would be more interesting than Anubis simply using Kars as a host is Kars and Anubis fighting for control over each other since the Pillar Men also had insane adaptive abilities.

Imaginr anubis with stength, you could turn the sword into any weapon or object, even a huge ship or something. One minute you think you have a opening and bam, the sword turns into a spear and blocks your attack

I just thought up a op stand: so its ability is to repeat a certain action of a person. Like if a person does a certain action the stand can use that action and can make it repeat over and over kinda like lagging for a very long time (not infinitely bc thats too op) And it could use the ability up to 7 things at a time. I'm calling it roundabout bc its fitting. As for the stand design idk

in an alternate universe where dio went completly deranged, uhhh timestop, punch the sword, retired.
Since the sword (I'm pr sure since non-stand users can interact with it) is technically a physical object Anubis could of smelted down the sword, turned it into a bunch of rings, and then, take over a bunch of people progressively taking over more powerful and more powerful individuals over time.
When you think about it, Anubis's ability is kinda like DC's villain Doomsday in that what worked on him once won't work again, period. Though they work differently (Anubis learns and adapts to his opponents, while Doomsday 's body evolves and adapts on a physiological level) the principle behind their powers is the same.

@@METAsMETAs so far the most i could think of would be Dio with Jonathans body (The World + Hermit Purple/The Passion) + Anubis + Cheap Trick + Super Fly + A Star Platinum Disc (It worked with Jolyne while she still had stone free, although only for like 10 seconds) + Ball Breaker + Stray Cat (May require Dio to donut himself) + The Scary Monsters (Virus leader variant thing) + Emperor (If it is able to be held by other people) + Tohth (Same reason as Emperor) + Mr President (Same Reason as Emperor) + Burning Down the House (Seems to work with Other stands if there is a stand disc) + Dragons Dream (Seems to be able to help people aside from it's user) + Ticket To Ride + Les Feuilles (Can be used by anyone) + Milagro Mans Curse

@@Dark139hunter the stand disks are tricky. They only ever stay with those who weren't strong enough to Awaken their own stands as far as I recall and for those like Jolyne who try to use another disk can only keep it temporarily seemingly because the stand in the disk is at odds with the one inside the user.
If that's true then anyone with a stand trying to use a disk could not use it for anything more than say one action without having to immediately re-insert it.
This video made me realize Anubis is kind of like the hero hunter garou of JoJo both of them are fighting genius that can't be fooled by the same thing twice and both of them stat increases as as they continue to fight.
Even in Unofficial games, Anubis has the capacity to be absolutely broken
So in a Roblox fan game called Project JoJo, Anubis can take control of whoever touches the sword and can use their abilities/stand as if it were its own. The thing is, sub abilities would stack with both players, so it would be possible to have two sub abilities in one character. Where this goes off the rails is Anubis can have the Vampire sub abilities while the other character has the Hamon sub ability. Free lifesteal from Vampire on EVERY ATTACK, while being immune to the sun from possession. hamon helps to increase attack power as well as have a passive healing as well.
So for example, if a Vampire Anubis were to posses a Hamon Tusk Act 4, it would cause some very harsh words to appear in the chat box.
