  • ATTENTION: PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END IF YOU FAIL TO MAKE IT, THERE'S OTHER WAYS TO MAKE TAHO BY USING UNFLAVORED GELATIN POWDER
    Those who reside outside the country like me was once experienced the Taho vendor shouting early in the morning or in the afternoon. I remember that we never missed a day eating this healthy snack that we used to eat during our childhood or even as we grow old. I tried my very best to learn how to make this from scratch. I know there's some other videos that will teach you how to make it, in an easy way. But i just want to challenge myself! and I tried and succeed! I want to share this method that I have learned. For those of you moms who have the patience and perseverance to make this kind of process, I hope you can try it too! and challenge yourself. I enclosed the link for the coagulant and filter bag that you can use for your Taho. Thanks for passing by and hope will succeed too! Just share your experience and if you have any questions regarding Taho making just comment below. Have a nice day to all of you.😐

    www.amazon.com...
    INGREDIENTS TAHO FROM SCRATCH
    (I used Tofu coagulant for this recipe which has a grainy texture)
    500g Soybeans
    2 1/2 liters of water
    1 1/2 tsp. of coagulant (depending of what type of coagulant you are using)
    150 ml. water (warm)
    FOR SMALLER PORTION (using regular food grade gypsum powder which is powdery texture)
    250g (1.5 cup of dry soybeans)
    6 cups of water
    2 tsp of gypsum powder diluted in 50 ml of warm water
    (check my 2nd video of making taho with a small amount of beans being used, the video is taho with purple yam syrup)
    SIMPLE SYRUB (ARNIBAL)
    1 cup of water
    2 cups brown sugar
    2 Pandan leaves (optional)
    *Mix all ingredients and bring mixture to boil, reduce heat and simmer until sugar has dissolved.
    Sago/Booba/Tapioca Pearl
    I just used the pre packed booba pearls that use for making bubble tea.
    Just follow the instructionS in the package.
    NOTE: WATCH THIS VIDEO FOR TYPES OF COAGULANT
    • ANONG COAGULANT ANG GA...
    Some coagulant is different to another, gypsum, calcium sulfate, tofu coagulant, if some point you fail your first try, to adjust the measurement of your coagulant according to what type you're using.
    During your first attempt of making taho it's normal to fail for the first time due to the Gypsum powder we are using, but if some point your coagulant didn't set successfully, there's other alternative way to make taho without using coagulant. You may use Gelatine powder but of course you may not be able to reheat your taho beacause it will melt once you heat it up. You can try this recipe without using coagulant.
    You may use store bought soy milk with this recipe or you can make the soy milk from scratch.
    INGREDIENTS:
    1 cup soybeans (to be soak overnight)
    6 cups water for blending
    24 grams gelatin powder (unflavored)
    1 cup water for gelatin powder
    Before preparing the soy milk, combine 1 cup of water and gelatin powder then set aside.
    once you already boil the milk (procedure of making milk from scratch follow the video)
    cool it down for 5 minutes
    Add the soften gelatin powder and stir to dissolve.
    Let it cool and chill for at least 4-5 hours, then serve with your arnibal and Tapioca Pearl.

      Great to hear! what about the taste? is it sour?

    • @okeedokeepokee
      @okeedokeepokee 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrumpyCookENA2018 No, not sour at all. Does 'soak time' really matter. I had soaked it for over 12 hrs not realizing that it would make a difference in the final outcome. Also, the larger 500g recipe only uses 1.5tsp of gypsum whereas the smaller 300g uses more gypsum ... is that right? More gypsum for less soybeans?

    • @GrumpyCookENA2018
      @GrumpyCookENA2018  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@okeedokeepokee yes the soaking process will surely affect the taste of the soybeans, because i have tried the soak it in different time, and yes it does really matter. The larger recipe that i used before was different type of coagulant , i just adjust the measurements to play around and see which one will give me the best texture. So , some coagulants works in small amount in large amount of soymilk and some don't, as per my experienced.

      hi, yung pulp hindi pwede gawing tokwa, pero yung soy milk oo ,let say yung first try mo hindi maganda ang texture , yun ang pwede mo gawing tokwa. Just place the unwanted taho sa cheese cloth and balutin. mo , ilagay mo sa strainer or colander then patungan mo ng mabigat ng bagay for several hours. Kailangan kasi ma press down sya na maigi para magdikit dikit at mawala yung excess water. After several hours check mo kung nag harden na then lagay mo sa container kung hindi mo pa sya coconsume lagyan mo ng water yung container at lagay sa fridge. I was finding and experementing recipe for the pulp eh, i will let you know how we can use it when i find out.😐 Thanks, just let me knoiw if you have anymore questions.

      @@anjrav5766 hi , baka kulang yung nilagay mong coagulant, pwede rin kaya iba ang texture ay hindi mo cya nasala ng mabuti.Depende rin kasi yun sa type ng coagulant, meron iba-ibang klase ng coagulant so far 3 na yung nasubukan ko yung gypsum na powdery medyo mapakla ng a yun, then yung tofu coagulant namn na ginagamit ko na ang texture nya ay grainy na parang iodize salt medyo maasim naman cya, then yung nigiri na texture din ng tofu coagulant na gamit ko nag cucurd namn cya and medyo mapakla rin, kaya ang lagi kong gamit yung na maganda ang texture na ang texture ay exactly the same as mag tataho ay yung tofu coagulant na gamit ko. I enclosed sa description box kung anong type ng coagulant ang gamit ko. Or if you want to make it easier na talagang cgurado na mabubuo, gelatin ang gagamitin mo yung unflavored, then pwede ka na rin bumili ng store bought soymilk hindi mo na kailangan magbabad ng soybeans ,kaya lang nga iba pa rin talaga ang real taho although soymilk din namn yun kaya lang di mo makakain ng mainit or di mo pwede ipaiinit yung gawa sa gelatin kasi matutunaw. Thanks.

    Mas better po ba kung isimmer with the soy beans and strain after or strain before simmering?

    • @GrumpyCookENA2018
      @GrumpyCookENA2018  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi honestly Hindi ko pa na gawa yun, but you can still try to simmer it after grinding the beans. Naka witnessed na rin ako sa Chinese ng pag gawa ng taho , grind muna nila after soaking in the water and strained the pulp then simmer it.

      Bakit po hindi namumuo yung taho ko at matubig? Ano po ang kulang or steps na maaring nagawa at ganun ang kinakalabasan? Sa temp po ba ng soymilk bago ihalo sa coagulant?

    HI GUYS I JUST NOTICED IN THE VIDEO CAPTION THAT TOFU COAGULANT IS 1 1/4 tsp. please refer to description box the right amount of coagulant, thanks and sorry for misleading you if you are only watching the video to get the recipe.

      Grumpy Cook ENA at wishingbonekitchen with your recipe how much coagulant ( is that a gypsum?) did you put.

    • @GrumpyCookENA2018
      @GrumpyCookENA2018  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ellasantanaalmodovar6546 its a tofu coagulant, for 2 1/2 liter of fresh soy milk you need 1 1/2 tsp. of coagulant diluted in 150 ml of water. you can click the link on description box to see the actual tofu coagulant or you can order it on Amazon. Follow steps on how to add your coagulant to the heated soy milk in the video.
