    What a beautiful place you have made and your puppy is just precious! I think a large mirror on that wall would make it feel even more open. I live in a small home and we use mirrors whenever we can to bounce that light around 😊

    • @haliestock
      @haliestock  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I completely agree! I’ve been trying to figure out what shape mirror to fill the space! 🤔

    I think floating shelves would look great on your blank wall. I just installed a couple of floating shelves near my kitchen in my small condo and I love making it a usable but pretty space by placing decorative jars filled with my tea, pasta, etc. Great video! You have a beautiful home and the puppy is such a cutie!

    • @haliestock
      @haliestock  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aw wow thank you so much!! & I love that! It would be fun to interchange decor/flowers/lights on the shelves seasonally, for holidays, etc! Hmmm now you got me thinking!! 😅

  • @denverdubois5835
    @denverdubois5835 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I'd normally say shelving on the blank wall. But your place has quite a lot of closet space for a studio, and the kitchen has way more cabinets than one would expect, plus there's that big island with all its storage. So I'd say instead--either a beautiful mirror or a large scale piece of artwork, something kind of idyllic and soothing. Maybe a flowering plant next to it--right by the window, for light? Love your adorable puppy, and the pink loveseats are so nice! Wow though, that heater placement would so annoy me if I lived there LOL. I'm glad it doesn't get too hot or sleeping there would be difficult! Clever of you to turn the headboard around like that!

    • @haliestock
      @haliestock  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so so much! Yes, you’re so right! We thankfully have a decent amount of storage space be it closets/cabinets/under the bed, etc! Curious what shape of mirror you would suggest? 🤗

  • @christineandersongonzalez5904
    @christineandersongonzalez5904 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love it. For the blank wall I’d get a big round mirror to open the space. I did that to a blank wall in my livingroom. And it looks much larger.

    • @haliestock
      @haliestock  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Christine!! Yes I definitely want to incorporate some sort of mirror! I like the round mirror idea! We have a lot of square/rectangle shapes already so that might be nice to have switch it up!

    Your apartment is beautiful. Make sure that you pull your headboard out a bit from your heater so it is not too close to the heat. You don't want it to be a fire hazard. I love your two toned slacks.

    I absolutely love the way you've decorated your space, and omg, those pants that you're wearing are the bomb! Re: white wall: I would consider adding a decorative shelf with some plants on it or maybe a neon sign (depending on how much light the area is getting otherwise once it's dark outside).

    I think you all have done a marvelous job with your studio, especially the way you have defined your three zones. On the blank wall ( no shelves or gallery to avoid clutter) I would use the entire wall from just below ceiling down to electric switchplate to showcase one large piece of art in pastel/neutral colors or a beatiful framed mirror to bounce some light around. Then in the foot of space on the right by the window I would get a large green ZZ plant( very easy care, impossible to kill, perfect light area) in a light grey or cream pot to soften area and bring some life to the corner. It would also hide the little extras there behind it.

      It looks great!! I love your space! We downsized from 2600 sq feet to just less than 700 sq feet last year when we moved to NYC last year and love it! Like yours, our space continues to be a work in progress. It’s so much fun to develop and decorate a space over time together as you live in it and grow to love it more and more.
      You really do have a lot of storage for a studio! Have you seen the bed frames that hade storage underneath them? They are great for additional storage!

    • @haliestock
      @haliestock  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leighannegibson4211 Yes definitely a work in progress as we navigate living in a small space & having so many things be "multi-purpose" haha :) & yessss we have seen those bed frames but our bed came with an adjustable base so we had to opt for a normal frame! Thankfully we found some nice plastic containers to store things below!

    Very cute and well -organized studio. As far as the blank wall, if you need additional storage, you can put several floating shelves. If you are good on space and don't need to store other things, a gallery wall would work. Perhaps a big painting and several smaller ones on the sides. You could also paint the wall another color to make it stand out before putting up artwork. Your puppy is adorable. He is in a wonderful home!

    Great place --question though: How does the heat circulate throughout the apartment during the winter ? I know NYC apartments are notoriously hot but still seems like you need to keep vents unblocked for circulation. Good use of space though.

    • @haliestock
      @haliestock  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! To be honest our radiator doesn’t circulate the heat very much anyway! And it’s such a small space that it doesn’t take much to heat it up 🥵 But under the little fireplace surround we have a retro looking space heater that we can turn on if needed 👍

  • @Vinnie-cv5qv
    @Vinnie-cv5qv ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice apartment. I would suggest raising the height of the curtain rods to the ceiling and also the light above the artwork is too big. I am not sure I keep seeing decorative light switches when one that is the same color as the wall would not attract so much attention. Also, I have the same fuse box in my apartment and I just placed a deep framed piece of art and that solved the problem. You might just want to relocate the small artwork and just go all out and get a huge piece of art. I will have a wow factor.You can also place the child's dresser in the middle of your closet and bring it up to the doors. This would allow you to not only open the drawers without any obstruction, but it will also give you a few needed inches for extra storage space in back of the dresser.
