_IF_ you go, do The Revival - wear a costume and take ear plugs for the annoying tannoy trumpet speakers that are DEAFENING! Then go home and watch the racing on here 'cause you won't see a thing at the circuit. Pits are great though.
They may look like 60s motors but there's modern tech in place of the oily rag and greasy overalls. All within the rules I'm sure and helping to keep the historic racing going until we are all electric in the near future.
Absolutely brilliant racing. The sounds and the sight of these glorious cars doing what they do best just can't be beaten these days. Goodwood you provide all of us who can't get to these events with such a great spectacle to see online. Those last laps were just amazing. Thank you very much for posting.
Really appreciate being able to watch this racing on your channel. I will never be able to get there in person, so thank you, thank you. An observation: Watching the Cobra and the GT40s race together was awesome. But the little Cobra looks huge next to the GT40! A suggestion: The only thing I wish you would do different is to make the leaderboard graphic a scroll bar across the bottom of the screen, rather than a big box in the upper left.
Thanks for posting these! They are wonderful- I don't care who wins, I just love watching the close racing, the wild slip angles, the in car steering wheel sawing, and the super bonus Mini sized chicane! Really great racing!
I bought my first FE block vehicle in 1969, for $40. I have had several over the years, one in a '58 T-bird like the one that walked away from most in the Touring Car event. I still have a Truck in the yard that has an FT Engine that does a lovely job of hauling Hay Bales. Love the sound and the look of a GT-40 is what I assumed was the ultimate design in 1966. All the computers and fancy fuel injection systems can not recreate the sound of that engine doing what Ford intended them to do, I enjoy them.
They look like they are on bias ply tires?- is there a spec I can read somewhere ( I searched) ? I think one of the reasons these races are so entertaining is the low grip high slip angle tires.
after watching the "salvadori cup" this gurney race is the same but on steroids.....thats racing....and fantastic cars too....bit heavy on the gt 40s but still.....i like it...
Oh my, Goodwood has ruined all other modern Motorsports for me and I'm OK with that. I've grown tired of cookie cutter race cars. Indy Car, F1 and NASCAR are boring to me now. This is the kind of racing that made me want be a driver when I was a kid. Literally on the edge of my seat this entire race. Thanks.
@@keithrushforth4019 Superformance GT40's aren't modern day replicas they're genuine GT40 continuations with the original GT40-P chassis numbers and are listed in the Shelby Car World Registry and official GT40 registry. 🤔

Stuff the Lotus, the beautiful Chevron B8 is there, and more worthy of being there than the Lotus 30, (the Lotus 30, just like the Lotus 15, but with twice as many faults). LOTUS = Lots of trouble, usually serious.
No chance of a disabled person doing this, my back pain keeps me from the chance of being one of the best drivers in the world. Get your kids back checked out before it cost them their dreams! Mine didn't!
How on earth do these pit crews allow their drivers to take off from the pits under the minimum time. You stopwatch as the guy pulls in and let him go at the correct time. YOU CALCULATE THIS STUFF , even the driver could click a stopwatch as he pulls in also
The commentary is not too hot. No grid details, talking only about the top three, no details provided on anything else. What is the yellow car? Is this the new face of Goodwood? Using complete amateurs as commentators? Does this mean that I have to unsubscribe to the channel. No commentary, just waffle, waffle, waffle. Verbiage ala soccer matches?
@@kinikinrd I am TOTALLY with you on that. The sound is why I go to the racetracks. Goodwood should not forget that those of us, who watch the videos, are the same people who pay to go there. The outstanding car, for me, over the years, has been the BRM 1.5 litre V16 GP car. That is a screamer.
Like a who's who of racing royalty
Best racing in the world right here.
I need to make the trip to Goodwood some day. These blokes really give it a go with battling museum pieces making all the right noises.
You see more here and it costs bugger all😊

My all time favorite driver Dario!!! I met him once at Barbers a few years ago during Indy, he was a real gentleman
That a great claim to fame. You go to the same barbers as Dario Franchitti! Not many can say that.

history racing, brilliant
Bill Shepherd's Cobra 427 leaves the two GT40s behind in the straights!
The problem being, a circuit is not only straight.
Awesome
Epic...💯🔥💯🔥💯🔥💯🔥💯🔥
I wish they would release the full version of the new races
I love how the GT40s almost sound like flat-crank V8s, their exhaust tuning is so well done.
180 degree exhausts will give you that. It's absolutely wonderful!

Great race but the leaderboard is woefully inadequate.
The lightweight Chevron has wider reartyres=more grip than the heavier Ford GT40, the Lotus too
Gt40s are still being raced???!🤯
Why would they not still be raced?
In that case, you're extremely late to the party... They've been racing in historic racing for decades now...
