I was sitting in the 10A/B grandstands and watching that Cadillac lap with no lights was absolutely insane. Every time it passed under the Fox bridge towards turn 12 the lights would flicker off. Completely blind, just going off pure adrenaline and balls. So much respect for that last 20 minutes.
I came in just for the day and was contemplating packing up and heading out a bit early since it had been such a long day. As I was packing up my hammock in turn 5 the crash happened at the top of the hill. So glad I ended up staying
Van der Zande in the 01 going full throttle in pitch black might be one of the most badass/ballsiest things I've ever seen in a race. It's up there with Kimi Raikkonen going flat out through the smoke on the Kemmel Straight at Spa in 2002.
From Scotland here. Imsa is so much better than WEC. Watched it live for free and then 50 mins of highlights next day. Takes two weeks for WEC to put the race up and also highlights are like 6 mins long. Always loved Imsa and the tracks have so much more character. Great race!
Imsa's been doing an amazing job in recent years. Between this, the MPC, and the MX-5 Cup, they've got for my money the best three racing series in the world right now. WEC is improving but it's got a long way to catch up.
One of the best races I’ve ever seen! All categories comprised. Very entertaining, just left TV on the whole day. Drama guaranteed among giant auto-brands!
Wow what a race. This track doesn’t give you a break. Then adding over 50 cars a different speeds. It really sorts out the normal drivers from the brave ones. Great to see Australian Matt Campbell competing with the best in the world. Meanwhile motorsport in Australia with V8 supercars at Bathurst was a procession. We need more manufacturers and more categories where drivers are tested by having to navigate traffic who are often also racing for class victories.
I unfortunately couldn't watch the whole show because I was busy all day today. But I was happy to catch the last 15 minutes of the stream yesterday. Great show guys! Great Racing! :)
The final sprint was easily the most intense race that i have ever seen in a while. That was my first year in imsa (so it was in wec too) and i cant wait for the action in the next year.
Unfortunately couldnt watch this live, but what a final race for team chip ganassi and the 01 caddy. waiting for the next season to start will be agonizing
Every year, when you think it couldn't happen again, Wayne Taylor Racing gets blindsided by some dumb bad luck. They were there for hours with the Porsches. Just glad nobody got seriously injured in that incident.
Interesting to see the US coverage. Looks so much nicer with the 60fps video. Also I personally prefer these commentators. On the flip side there's no adverts on the world feed so that edges it for me. Makes me wonder if IMSA could offer a premium video service for the worldwide viewers with the 60fps quality and a choice of commentary.
Ryck Taylor crash (Acura 10) it's a completely fault from the race director to not send yellow flag ASAP. And others amateurs factors to create this issue: Why there's no yellow light in the night race??? Do you think that one yellow flag outside the apex, in a blind spot, with some many cars, at the night are visible enough to advise the drivers???? Why those cars don't have some emergency lights in the top of the roof for exemple??? Something should be improved before some major incident...
37:18 overtaking under yellow and 2 cars try to follow are there no penalties for ignoring flags? wait that was the ONLY yellow flag?? looking from the on board IMSA seriously needs to consider safety more. maybe look at the Nurburgring for inspiration?? yellow flags at least 1 marshall post before the incident. NO OVERTAKING UDNER YELLOW. double yellows maximum 50mph speed limit but maybe that needs to be a FCY where everyone just slows down to 50mph just like in WEC. if the incident can be cleared quickly just go back to green afterwards
I miss watching these races live. I purchased Peacock to watch the 24 at Daytona a couple of years ago & they played the same 3 or 4 mins of commercials every 10 mins for the entire race. Totally ruined the whole experience.
Congratulations to Ferrari and Conquest Racing for the win in GTD. That was a fantastic overtake and defending by Albert Costa for the win. A solid podium for Risi Competizione too. 👏👏👏
I was at the race too. Watching that Cadillac go through the Esses and down the straight without lights was totally mental, and Road Atlanta is so fast- there’s only 2 slow corners there. But quite honestly, Road Atlanta has some pretty bad safety deficiencies that need to be addressed. First of all is the marshaling. That Mustang sat in the middle of the track on a blind hill for 30 seconds and no yellow flags were being waved for that whole time. Second, there needs to be more catch fencing around some crucial points of the track- some of the spectator areas are dangerously exposed, like at Turn 5 coming out of the Esses. If a car goes straight there, then there’s a good chance it will clear the concrete barrier and go into the crowd. Same thing at Turn 10, only less so there. And finally- Road Atlanta as a facility is outdated. It was overcrowded there and the facility as it stands can’t effectively accommodate all the people there this weekend- there were more than 100,000 people at the race. There needs to be more spectator areas and also more space for the teams to work. It was cramped down in the paddock.
Be careful what you wish for. The Grand Prix loop of Brands Hatch lost a lot of its character in 2018 when the DTM forced them to install bigger safety fencing throughout the Grand Prix loop. The DTM cars are long gone now but the high safety barriers remain forever.
@@mr8I7 These changes would be minor and pretty inexpensive. Nothing as dramatic as what happened at Brands, which is a great circuit. My favorite track in England with Oulton Park. Driving it in video games is lots of fun; I've never been there for real. Road Atlanta is kind of like our Brands Hatch if it had a longer straight and if Paddock corner went uphill.
Great event! Was very disappointed to see IMSA renewed its contract with NBC. The sport will grow quicker with any other tv provider. Peacock/NBC are the WORST!!!
Garbage TH-camTV decided to not record the second half of this coverage, so I have to come to this video to know what even happened :( the world of streaming is infuriating sometimes.
Atlanta is such a dangerous track for multi-class racing with the ridiculous fully blind crest which requires the driver to commit to a turn into a chicane complex before it is visible. Further, the blind entrance to the pit-lane is another very stupid choice. I am not sure this track should be certified for anything more than karting.
The 963 has redeemed itself. Hopefully new liveries are in order. Someone called the 01 Baddillac.... seems that has been broken 😂. 2025 season should be interesting, the water is saturated with the red stuff. Those GTP shark fins will be slicing through come Daytona.

My son and I were in the grandstands at the start/finish line last night and a large number of the folks with us were Porsche fans. Great year to be following them.

Crazy..thx 4 sharing!

Was in the same spot. It was great, every time his lights came back on the crowd would cheer.
I was there at 10a and B too, I lost my mind when I heard his lights were out 😂

He was on fire with that turn 1 move too.

All of this, plus I don't like having to translate kph to English 😂
In America we couldnt get the free live stream, dont know how an American association can do that but here we are highlights wooo
Yeah TV broadcasting deals are a bummer for preventing live free WEC in most counties and preventing IMSA live in USA.

finally a proper highlight🤩
Hi from an IMSA lover from the Netherlands! What a race! 🤛🏽🤛🏽🤛🏽 for the IMSA and NBC sports live coverage!!! Please keep coverage free to watch!!!
I've never been to Petit Le Man's but this was my very first time. It was absolutely amazing, I enjoyed every minute and will cherish those memories
Excellent Racing... simply Excellent... hats off to IMSA 👍👍💯
Motorsports overstimulation. That final run to the checkers was a legendary test of driver and equipment. IMSA never disappoints!

What a race!!
great race recap thank you
Quel spectacle! Magnifique! Merci.
Upmost respect for Renger Van De Zande. Insane, crazy, ballsy: Racecar driver.
Goddamn I fell asleep with 1 hour remaining I watched the whole night
What a way to end a great season lovely job mates onto next year!
Great way for Renger to end his time with Caddy
24:20 i love how romain seems to have the time of his life at petit le mans.
Happy for van der Zande!
awesome race
No replays of any incident?! Just shots of them lost incident
53 is the max number of cars for this track. Great race!
Intense & amazing race. I feel.sorry for Ricky Taylor 😢
this was such a good race

I hopped on a VPN to get away from Peakcock's "ad" breaks and commentators. I prefer everything about the world feed, personally.
4-time IMSA chamion Dane Cameron!!!
Now this is how you do highlights, unlike the WEC, they barely do 3 minutes of them
Looks like they borrow the NBC 1 hour highlights. Not sure why the WEC doesn't borrow the 1 hour highlights that Eurosport makes.
I said "Don't disappoint me " and it won Congrats Cadillac N.01 this is a good ending to the last race of this year!.
Where do u watch these races, only part of it is ever televised when I see it on?
Clap on! Clap off!
This race never disappoints. Chip goes out with a win. Does anybody know where Seb and Ranger will land?
IMSA is so good, WEC and F1 should learn from them
Why WEC?
Wec is perf bro
F1 maybe, but why WEC?
Unless if it's about bop then yes.
Wec is great too mate, IMSA just have, except for le mans, spa or other classics, better tracks. F1 is the circus
@@fayyadguissida IMSA also has BoP

They need to have a light on the flagman
Some very dumb mistakes by the LMPs in this race. Getting in the way of GT cars.
Anybody know what the song was at the end?

The yellow needs to be lit up bright as heck. No way anyone could see a flag in the dark light that.
