They pretty much took the legendary song, rearranged it wholly and poured full unit of Finnish melancholy on it, making an excellent cover of G'n'R classic! What makes them great, apart of being great musicians, is that they are pushing themself, have good sense of humor and have great work morale.

You don't usually hear the label "shredder" applied to bluegrass musicians but that's exactly what a lot of them are. Mandolin, banjo, and fiddle players just lighting it up all the time. Musicianship like that is one of the things I love about bluegrass. These guys are one of the most creative cover bands out there, everything they do is delightful and I hope you get to enjoy more of their work. Have fun!
This is the sort of sound that speaks to our tribal/fireside hearts. Gets the pulse up and the adrenaline going. We’re all still cavemen at our basic and this shows how music can tap into this with such ease.

I love that you noted the strong Irish and Scottish Folk influence on Bluegrass. Many here in the U.S. don’t realize that the home of Bluegrass, the Appalachians was settled in large numbers by Scots and Irish. They brought their music and instruments with them. Well it certainly is the most positive and fun-loving band audience I have seen, in their videos. Almost everyone is a metal music fan but enjoying their fav bands' songs done unexpected way. And having having fun relaxed videos with humour seems to be as much the idea as having fun with what can you do with them covers. Never wasted my time watching a Seagulls video, nor reading comments, always had good time. And them covers.. mindboggling!
Shit now you HAVE GOT TO react to all their covers, November Rain, Sweet Child o' Mine and Paradise City are my top 3 favourite. Also, in November rain Herman's deep voice really shines

Herman (real name Matias) is a really nice guy IRL too. We were 7 years in the same class at elementary school.
And... they are Finnish. I listen these days mostly to folk music becuase there is a lot of joy in it, and I hear so little joy in the commercial genres. Old-time jazz works well too.
Thunderstruck has almost become a Classical Standard! I've done this song live a few times, using a looper to do the main riff, or it gets tedious doing that live, I'd love to do with the accordion, but if you befriend a player of them, they want to be friends for life!
So this is exactly the video band which led me to discover an even better band called The Native Howl (IMO, because they do *original* music in this metal-bluegrass style). The song to listen to first of course, is called "Thunderhead." The Native Howl. Their singer(s) freaking SLAY this genre they dubbed Thrashgrass.
Well, relaxed attitude and love for music are part of the culture. So much so I often do forehead slaps, but in Seagulls' case I just laugh and do head banging.

I saw them a few years ago at a small dive in Phoenix. They are unbelievable live. I tell everyone that they're a Finnish Hillbilly coverband.

Absolutely! Their cover of November Rain is one of the few covers that I think are better than the original.
Their cover is, in my opinion, 110% better than the original. It's a rare case where the cover is better than the original.

This cover is so much adjacent to the spirit of AC/DC, isn't it? I can easily imagine them (AC/DC) in early 70's playing that stuff.
This is fantastic. I have also never seen an accordion player have such a "metal" face and posture before, I love it.
These guys are a blast with hard rock and metal covers. I also enjoyed their cover of "Paradise City" at SXSW in the streets of Austin TX.
