You need a beefier snap ring tool. I did this when I was in college in my apartment parking lot once, and I bent two sets of snap ring pliers trying to get them in ;-) Fond memories.
I do. I broke 3 sets trying to get them out. Had to order these from Amazon to get them here fast.
@@OldVolksTV Great. Just like what happened to me ;-)
Good Job! 🙂
OOoooOOOhhh lookie those new snap ring pliars! SNAZZY! Sweet advice buddy!
Happy New Year! Good video!
Good stuff as always.
Happy New Year 🎊
TH-cam has been replaying videos this is last week video ! Great video now where’s this week video finishing this process? Please ! Thank you!
Had a couple other items to take care of first, but the installation is coming soon!
If that mid mount has the red urethane bushings be careful, I had to grind mine down to get it to fit
👍🤘🤜
Wish you would have shown heating and hammering that bearing in place.
I actually didn't need to. It was close enough to use the bolts on the bearing cap to draw it down. Lucky me!
Always enjoy your technicaleducational videos. The audio changed Howard the end. You must have changed mics. Anyway, great job! Looking forward to the progress.
I did! The batteries in my mic died so I had to use the camera mic.
What brand heavy duty side cover do you have on your transaxle?
Hey ! Back a Xmas my Chrome book went dead ? I took it to the local repair shop and he said chrome books cost 160 to open it ? I asked will that fix it he was saying no just to open it . He said it mite cost 900 to get it working . I told him it aint worth it and he said what about your files . What files it's a chrome book . I just view YT. Any way the starter in Rambus that was a 55 $ ebay special in the cold front at 26 degrees I pumped the carb 2X ( 32/36 ) and it started in about a second so it's a + . the old one I got back in 92 at Auto Shack now if the new one last that long ??????
Everybody puts the axle boots on with the seam on top. This is wrong. The owners manual that came with the car states that the seam should have sealant applied and the seam should be at 3 or 9 o'clock and facing the rear. There is no bellows in the seam and they will tear with the seam on top. Check the boots at each oil change as dirt will damage your bearings.
I usually put them at 11 or 1 but I can see how 3/9 would work. The boots we get now aren't as good as the old ones and I wouldn't trust the seam to seal, even with "glue". For sure they don't belong at the very top though.
If you have your axle tubes off, you need to use the seamless axle boots. Guaranteed not to leak.
