@@twist_ending7545 Even if it was, nothing wrong with missing the pilot as that is what we had for so long, and even so gryphon is an amazing singer but No hate to the newer one he does great as well.
A lot of character lore has been confirmed by the creator outside of the show. Alastor was a cannibal serial killer in life and died by being shot in the head. Angel was a part of the italian mob family, and his involvement in the "web of crime" is the reason for his spider esque appearance. He also cannonically has two siblings, an older brother Arackniss (can be seen in ep 8 during the news scene) and a twin sister Molly (ep 6 during the song "welcome to heaven"). Also keep in mind that many songs are actually created by the fans and may not be absolutely canon! "Addict" however was made official by Viv Lastly, I would definitely recommend watching helluva boss, it's a show made by the same creator on youtube that follows hellborn imps in the same universe. It isn't as plot driven as hazbin, but it's still pretty good and explores more of hell (different rings, deadly sins, demon royalty, etc.)
for a little bit of context, it's confirmed with Vivziepop that Alastor used to be a canniballistic serial killer in 1930s. he died while burying his latest victim in the woods, because a hunter had mistaken him for a deer and shot him between the eyes. so his afterlife deer-like appearance has double meaning - both because it's a metaphor for how he died and also because it's a reference for the canniballistic deer-like creature wendigo. also, he's got a little red X on his forehead under his hair as a memento 😮😮😮
wendigos aren't deer-like creatures, those you are talking about are skinwalkers. Wendigos are just hairless, blind, mutated humans with no animistic traits in sight.
I always interpreted the "old friend of mine" a line as perhaps being one of his earlier victims in life and now he's found them again in hell and starts to understand/grow his power base by killing them again.

Haven't even watched the video and i'm already in love cause i've been waiting soooo long for that series to come out and it's finally here and now you are reacting to an OG song. I'm so happy
Coming back to the first video I watched of yours, and idk if you'll see this, but if you're interested in Alastor's 'before Hell' backstory, the same artist made the song Daisies a few months ago based on what's been explained/speculated about his life on Earth
I didn't scroll very far to see if someone else said this already but the genre of music that you called dubstep circus music is actually electro-swing
I love seeing people who were introduced to this community via just the Prime show and seeing their reactions to all the fan content out there. Also, if you want, there is an entire spin off show that the creator has made that is also on her youtube channel called Helluva Boss. Also, I've seen barely anyone do this, but I would love to see you react to all of Vivzies animated shorts that have no connection to Hazbin of Helluva because they are insanely good and she's been making them since she was in collage and or uni I'm pretty sure.
As far as we know, in a past life on Earth, Alastor was a radio host who died sometime in the late 1920s. So, his lust for entertainment goes kinda step to step with roaring 20s era. He was mistaken for a deer and shot by a hunter while burying a body deep in the forest. Another reason for the accident is that he was noticed and barked at by the hunter’s dogs, so he hates them. The interesting detail is that every sinner in hell gets their appearance according to their previous lifestyle (radio host), the way they died (deer hooves and horns), and something they hated (in Alastor's case, it seems to be dog-like ears, but that's only my assumption). Moreover he was a cannibal and all of the cannibals resemble each other with grey skin tone and beaming smile. However, he has red eyes and hair, theoretically because he was a voodoo cannibal. As for his other acquaintances whom he had back on Earth, the only possible one is Rosie. Vox died in the 1960s, and Zestial lived in the 18th century or earlier, therefore their paths couldn’t cross.
I would love to see you reacting to Helluva Boss series by Vivzipop (the creator of Hazbin Hotel). Some people consider it to be even more entertaining due to the amount of controversial adult problems it tells about. While Hazbin is more likely to be more personal story about Charlie’s dreams, Helluva covers more of Hells hierarchy and discusses lots of serious issues like toxic relationships of different kinds, fear to open your soul to others, gives examples of complex relationships in families, including the arranged marriages, heritage issues and adopted children. So, I would definitely recommend it to you!
Alastro has only been in hell for around 90 years. He is VERY young for an Overlord. Only the V's are younger. As for his human life? Cannibal serial voodoo killer. Oh, and he had his own radio show.
When you react to Addict (which I think I remember you said you were already planning on?) you should be sure and watch the video all the way through. There will be credits that may lead you to believe the song is over, but the after credits bit is one of the best parts.
(Regarding the pause about how you handle your content and all the pauses, just my personal take): I only tend to watch the things I've seen or am *really* curious about but haven't been able to engage with and want to watch someone I *trust* and know has similar tastes. The ones I've seen you seen to like the same things I enjoy and watching you beam and explode at the things I love so much that you have to pause and replay it is extremely entertaining. Love it so much. Don't ever stop! :D Or, you know, stop when you need to rest but your style is great so thank you for it.
I recommend a song called "just look my way". Warning... Be prepared to cry, also it's based of/from the series "helluva boss" (same creator as hazbin hotel and also adult content) the song however doesn't contain bad language etc.
From the animated version of this song it hints that he is referring to sir pentious as his "old friend" also I feel like they held back is a hint to him becoming more insane under the constraints of his "deal" as he talks about at the end of episode 8
So excited you're checking out the numerous fan songs for Hazbin Hotel! I agree with everyone's suggestions, and wanted to add 'Let's See a Smile' by Divide Music. I've been really enjoying the new uptick of swing/big brass/jazz influences in all of these fan songs. It's been refreshing and addictive, lol!
I get that you can't do a true reaction to the songs in Hazbin Hotel as you've already watched it, but I would love to see your breakdown/analysis of the songs from the show.

For a few minutes I was a teen again groooving to music with my bestie again, if you know what I mean? also I know you've watched the series (repeatedly. same) but I"d still love to see you talk about the songs, even if it's not a blind reaction~
The speed of which I immediately went to the channel’s home to try and find the reaction for the series only to find out that there aren’t any. 😭 but still… thank you for this wonderful review. ❤
You should look into the songs from Helluva Boss, it's another show by Viv and it also has some bangers and also has a couple fansongs that have been cannonized. Personal favorites of Mine: "Two Minutes Notice" "Crooked" which involve the character Fizz. "Everything Will Be Okay" "Owl In a Cage" "Just Look My Way" (fansong) which are all Stolas Songs. :)
Alastors backstory is he was a serial killer who killed a lot of people, he was also a cannibal. He died when he was eating his victims remains in the woods when a hunter thought he was a deer and shot him. He has deer ears in hell because of how he died and because the mythical creature the windigo is a deer like creature that possesses people and makes them into cannibals.
Any comments help with engagement. So im leaving this one here. I found you with Epic the musical, and now i found out you also wached hazbin. Its so nice! I love your channel already haha
I would LOVE to see you show off Hazbin to CF Reacts!! Maybe a long video of you dissecting the songs!! I'D LOVE THAT!!! Your input and hype for different musical motifs just tickles my brain!💖 and I'd absolutly LOVE to hear a musician rant about the soundtrack!
There's at least 2 live versions that Black Gryph0n has done that is amazing. One as fast as this one and one performed slowly. You need to react to both 😊😊😊
Sooo this is a genre called "Electro Swing" a mix of Electronic Music and 20s-30s Swing. And this is an awesome genre for this songs and for Alastor's character. So for a little confirmed backstory for Alastor: He used to be a Radio Announcer back in the 20s and 30s, very popular one too (i don't remember where he is from exactly, but I think he was from New Orleans) he is a mixed-race creole. But behind closed doors he was a Cannibal and Serial Killer who practiced Voodoo. He was killed in 1933 while burying one of his victims in the forest 'cause a hunter mistook him for a deer. That explainin' his powers, appearace and nickname "The Radio Demon" Hope you liked this explanation! ❤❤❤❤ Love your content!
I just recently fell into the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss universe and am sooo glad that you reacted to this song as It's my fav. Another great fan made song is Thank You and Goodnight.
I would recommend " thank you and goodnight" its a farewell song by the Pilot cast that didn't make it to the show, really good, its on black gryphons channel ( singing voice of Allister) tho i think it was uploaded by multiple of the cast Edit: also Daises, a Allister backstory song pre-hell also black gryphon
Addict is a song that came out after the pilot and before the official series would recommend checking it out. If your looking to see more fan content theres an animatic called Valentino definitely worth checking out for more fan songs paranoid dj has made a good amount of them.
After you’ve checked out the hazbin content you should totally check the artist of this song. Specifically ‘one guy 50 voices’ a lot of reactors I’ve seen love that one
It's not technically canon, but it's pretty accurate to canon, so I'd highly recommend Black Gryph0n's other Alastor song Daisies. It's pretty new, it's a prequel to Insane, and it's based on Alastor while he's alive! It's really great!
Some good fan songs, would be: Smile Like You Mean It. Royal Flush. Thank You, and Good Night. Redemption Arc. Radio Play. And Heaven 2 Hell. All are fan songs and most came out before the official show, with the exception of Thank You and Good night, bit it is more of a tribute song to everyone from the original pilot.
Yeah, Black Gryphon is a phenomenal singer, Baasik is his brother, and they make a lot of music together. Black Gryphon is also amazing and impressions, he comes from a very talented family, and everyone in his family is musical in some way.
Theres a channel called MilkyyMelodies which has some original songs on HH which are really good if you want to react to some more HH songs. some of my favourites being: heaven is changing (which was actually liked by vivsipop) and stayed gone redone.
Mortius, you should definitely check out more of Gabe Brown (Black Gryph0n) on TH-cam! He does a whole bunch of impression stuff and is actually really talented, so check him out!
I don't think you'd need to edit down the pilot if you react to it, I've seen a lot of people say Vivzie likes reactions to it and doesn't copyright claim them! And your style has a lot of pausing so you should be double safe :D
I don't know if you already reacted to "Hell of a team " it's a fan song about charlie and Alastor sang by Amalee. But it's so good!! You should check it out.
in 9:53 my theory is simply that he met an old victim when he was alive. Since he did start killing when he was alive and if some of them end up in hell, it would be possible for him to meet them once again. Hence the "Old Pal of mine", "Diparted from us far too early. But now we're meeting a second time" and the radio static/distortion of "We used to have such fun together" aka when he enjoyed killing (or torturing) the victim's life. And with Vox, I don't think its possible since Vox died in the 1950's according to the Wiki and Alastor died in the early 1930's, specifically 1933. But hey, that JUST a Theory. A FILMMM Theory. (Im sorry I just miss Matpat)
Dude, if you loved Hazbin, you NEED to watch it's sister-show, Helluva Boss! Canonically set in the same universe, just focuses on different parts, & every bit as good as Hazbin (personally, I'd say better), with fantastic music & humor! And the BEST part? Helluva is a TH-cam show, completely free, & Vizipop LOVES reaction videos, & openly encourages them, so you could watch those ones on camera without massive amounts of editing!🙏
I'm halfway into Hazbin Hotel (gonna go watch a couple more episodes right after this), though I did watch the Pilot beforehand (on advice of a friend of mine who had already watched the show and also gave me a few content warnings). I may or may not have ended up with a crush on Alastor extremely quickly. Even the horrifying bits. 😅 Loved the reaction/analysis!

I'm forgetful and broke so I can't risk even the 7 day free trial for patreon even though I want to support you!
I found Insane from tiktok as well xD a lot before I even knew about hazbin hotel or helluva boss. I really enjoy seeing someone enjoy the same parts of the song I love. I will say, I found your channel because of Epic the musical.
Mortius had fun - and so had I. What a upbeat song with sinister lyrics: love the contrast.
I believe the new song daisies is a prequel to this.
Yesss, would love @officialmortius to react to it!
Oh man! I already recorded and I’m afraid I missed that 😭
(Regarding the pause about how you handle your content and all the pauses, just my personal take): I only tend to watch the things I've seen or am *really* curious about but haven't been able to engage with and want to watch someone I *trust* and know has similar tastes. The ones I've seen you seen to like the same things I enjoy and watching you beam and explode at the things I love so much that you have to pause and replay it is extremely entertaining. Love it so much. Don't ever stop! :D Or, you know, stop when you need to rest but your style is great so thank you for it.
Black Gryph0n put out another Alastor song: Daisies. I think you'll like it.
im pretty sure, insane is nor a canon song, is a fan song
I recommend a song called "just look my way". Warning... Be prepared to cry, also it's based of/from the series "helluva boss" (same creator as hazbin hotel and also adult content) the song however doesn't contain bad language etc.
Welcome to the rabbit hole of hazbin hotel
His a great singer his older stuff for MLP was amazing
From the animated version of this song it hints that he is referring to sir pentious as his "old friend" also I feel like they held back is a hint to him becoming more insane under the constraints of his "deal" as he talks about at the end of episode 8
NGL I am in love with ‘smile like you mean it’ by paranoid DJ and there is one that someone animated which is AMAZING.
Immediately sold on your reactions! Love your enthusiasm and found myself vibrating along with excitement! Going to go check out your EPIC reactions now!
Welcome aboard!! Happy to have you, hope you enjoy everything else you find :) A new Hazbin related video drops tomorrow AND Saturday, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss them!
YOU'RE DOING HAZBIN STUFF?????? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
dude, this was an awesome reacction to watch! I too am in the middle of my hazbin hotel frothing and jjuuuust discovered this song and I LOVE how you react to things and eeeeee ... For a few minutes I was a teen again groooving to music with my bestie again, if you know what I mean?
also I know you've watched the series (repeatedly. same) but I"d still love to see you talk about the songs, even if it's not a blind reaction~
Love you reacting to the fan-made stuff
Best Analysis that i found on youtube! Congrats !
Really liked your reaction. Had my mind blown the first time I heard this song🤯🤯🤯🤯
You need to react to both 😊😊😊
Smile like you mean it is also a great song
Sooo this is a genre called "Electro Swing" a mix of Electronic Music and 20s-30s Swing. And this is an awesome genre for this songs and for Alastor's character. So for a little confirmed backstory for Alastor:
He used to be a Radio Announcer back in the 20s and 30s, very popular one too (i don't remember where he is from exactly, but I think he was from New Orleans) he is a mixed-race creole. But behind closed doors he was a Cannibal and Serial Killer who practiced Voodoo. He was killed in 1933 while burying one of his victims in the forest 'cause a hunter mistook him for a deer. That explainin' his powers, appearace and nickname "The Radio Demon"
Hope you liked this explanation! ❤❤❤❤
Love your content!
Thing i think about a lot about the line "do you demons bleed?" Maybe, as the true Louisiana man he is, 'if it bleeds, it can die'
I just recently fell into the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss universe and am sooo glad that you reacted to this song as It's my fav. Another great fan made song is Thank You and Goodnight.
I would recommend " thank you and goodnight" its a farewell song by the Pilot cast that didn't make it to the show, really good, its on black gryphons channel ( singing voice of Allister) tho i think it was uploaded by multiple of the cast
Edit: also Daises, a Allister backstory song pre-hell also black gryphon
You should check out Black Gryph0n's latest Alastor song Daisies! It shows a peak into what Alastor's human life might have been like!
Addict is a song that came out after the pilot and before the official series would recommend checking it out. If your looking to see more fan content theres an animatic called Valentino definitely worth checking out for more fan songs paranoid dj has made a good amount of them.
would love to see an analysis of the songs from you
Your reactions are great. I’m so happy I found this channel! 🎉
After you’ve checked out the hazbin content you should totally check the artist of this song. Specifically ‘one guy 50 voices’ a lot of reactors I’ve seen love that one
"Gals, blokes, all other folks" absolute poetry. New to your channel, staying for the razzmatazz.
It's not technically canon, but it's pretty accurate to canon, so I'd highly recommend Black Gryph0n's other Alastor song Daisies. It's pretty new, it's a prequel to Insane, and it's based on Alastor while he's alive! It's really great!
I believe Vox died way after Alastor. So they wouldn’t have known each other when they were alive and Alastor would’ve been in hell first.
I just finished hazbin Hotel and I love it!!! I’m most def here for this!!
Recommend also checking out Radio Play, another awesome Alastor song.
Absolutely the pilot, the addict music video, but then the Helluva Boss sister series. Same universe, but a different cast of characters.
It's also a pretty release fan song and is a fan song created from an existing piece, but I like Change the Order
Alastor’s Game is also really good and it’s by The Living Tombstone
I'd also say he should watch addict since it was replaced by poison. I'd be cool to see
age of stereo - oricadia IS AN AMAZING ALASTOR SONG
Watched your video month ago, but I just want do drop in again to tell you that you are amazing.
You should do Daisies soon! It's gorgeous and stupid catchy.
I love how much you're geeking out over this!
Yeah, Black Gryphon is a phenomenal singer, Baasik is his brother, and they make a lot of music together. Black Gryphon is also amazing and impressions, he comes from a very talented family, and everyone in his family is musical in some way.
I think the lyrics confirm that when Alastor was accidentally k*lled, he didn't really 'go away'.
He just went home~
Theres a channel called MilkyyMelodies which has some original songs on HH which are really good if you want to react to some more HH songs. some of my favourites being: heaven is changing (which was actually liked by vivsipop) and stayed gone redone.
Have you seen BlackGryph0n's newer Alastor-related song "Daisies"? It's fully animated, and I think you'll love it if you don't already!!
Ooooh! you could watch the sister show, Helluva Boss!
Warning! the prequel of Insane is out, its called Daisys or something
Lol thx for the reaction
He talks about Husk because Alestor before he dissapeared 7 years before show action he maked a pact with Husk (and probably Lilith).
Colm McGuinness has done a couple of songs from this series. Check them out!
There is a "1920" version wich is so so good and retro !!
**thanks for watching**
The person al is talking about he knew on earth is sir pen ✨
Loved the reaction/analysis!
