Dudeeeee this was such a great watch. Had me watching on 1x instead of 2x and everything. Fantastic shots, storytelling, and pacing. Excited to see more!
i think i fell in love in all seriousness tho as a current senior applying to colleges right now, this has encapsulated the very thought process i've been going through. kudos to u man.
I seriously shed tears, this perfectly captured the feelings and things we face as seniors and what colleges and/or society expects us to do but it’s truly about doing what you want and not where you go. This is an amazingly beautiful and inspiring film. You have the potential to be the next Wesley Wang. Keep it up❤🎉
Wow, my guy casually made a movie. The cinematography and storytelling is next level. As someone who just graduated from university, it's such a precious and exciting time of your life. Keep it up man and all the best for the future :)
film majors try not to reference damien chazelle challenge: hard (in all seriousness this is one of the BEST things I've watched in a really long time and you've inspired me to go pick up my camera again--so thank you!)
The match cuts between the cooking and writing scene was INSANE. So glad Stanford recognized your talent with filmmaking (I saw it after seeing your high school graduation video!) I was also shocked when I saw that you went to Issaquah (coming from a Skyline filmmaker lolll) anyway great video!
BROTHER ;00 Dude this was incredible wtf. The storytelling, the creative direction, the cinematography… amazing work bro. You never fail to impress me. It makes me incredibly proud to see you grow. Those colleges that rejected you are missing out on a talented individual 🙏 Wishing you the best for your future homie :^)
i love watching people do the thing they love so much. this video made me so emotional the pressure to get into a school is so immense that we forget why we started and why i want to do this , why do i love this . i am going through the same process and was waitlisted by my dream college. the situation made me so stressed out i could physically feel the pain in my brain maybe the voices got just to loud. seeing this really made me realise that okay maybe its not that bad. you'll be okay regardless. i have never been happier to watch a yt video so much. looking forward to more content.
As a current high school senior: from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I've been so stressed, wondering if the schools I'm applying to are too above my range (and of course worrying about whether they'll reject me), but this gave me so much reassurance in my future. I may not know where I will end up, but regardless of where I go, that will not define my future. Only I can do that.
I’m going to pretend this comment section is letterbox as it was the best cinematic experience I’ve had all week… a genuine portrayal of the college application process and my current life, emphasis on current, not future, as this beautifully conveyed that we are not defined by what schools we get into or what schools we didn’t. So beautifully made; this is film.
Literally the best college video watched till date! all the best for your Stanford journey budy, rooting for you. Hope we meet one day on STANFORD CAMPUS!
The choice of music and lighting expressed the emotions I can tell you were feeling perfectly. Thank you for sharing something so important to you!! This was beautiful
Astonishing, inspiring. I'm subscribing & I'll let you know how I do as I prepare my application for the upcoming fall session as an international student. Wish me luck!
If the evaluation fails, change the plan. Not the goal. It was only before my junior year that I wanted to go to a us military academy (particularly the Air Force). So I did everything in my power to boost my application prowess to the best of my capabilities when the time came. Unfortunately I was cut short in the nomination process and fell into a deep despair. College ROTC programs looked promising and applied for a scholarship unbeknownst to the fact that in the next several months, I would also be rejected with a form of any scholarship. By the end of it all I was still given the opportunity to join ROTC as a non scholarshipee and I am currently doing it as my freshman year of college. Looking back, I noticed one of my senior colleagues who had also been a rejected candidate to the academies is now attending a prep school to only re apply again. (which isn’t a bad thing at the cost of spending a yearly college tuition for another year of high school) That allowed me to reflect, on what the best of both world were. Whether if I would complete rotc or graduate at USAFA, I would still become an officer in the Air Force. Whether there are pros and cons to which program is best, I can’t argue on that. ULTIMATELY getting rejected from a top school WAS APART of the plan. The ULTIMATE GOAL is not what school you want to be that for only 4-6 years, but what you want to do with that AFTERWARDS. It doesn’t have to be military oriented either, but this was just my perspective it seems. It seems me and heechan are on different boats in the same ocean, rocking through different storms. To anyone that’s made it this far, think about the end goal and strengthen mental fortitude if necessary. God bless ❤🙏
this was really beautiful, I'm glad for you! also can someone talk about the transition between the cooking and writing scenes?! Its actually incredible.
IHS alum that graduated 2 years ago - go you brother, absolutely love it & representing the eagles well. Looking forward to how you'll change the world!
Bro only 9k views??? This video is insane. I clicked thinking it would be another 10-minute video of an anxious kid hovering their mouse over a status update button, but this video actually had me entranced. The way that the moments of just being a senior, being a teenager were interspersed with the story of applying to college just really stood out to me. And as a teenager with such a limited budget? This is amazing work. When you become a filmmaker you’re gonna be crazy good, and Stanford should be glad to have you.
Bro!! I'm Stanford 2028 as well and I was so happy when I saw you get in! I might be in the background somewhere on the class photo day shot. Hope to meet you in person!
WHAT DID I JUST WATCH!?!? This honestly was SO AMAZING! You captured the emotions so perfectly at the start, i could literally relate to so much of this video!! Congratulations on getting into Stanford, you deserved it!! 🚀

This was such an amazing film! It was also extremely inspiring for me as I approach my senior year as a future filmmaker. Looking forward to more films!
this was beautiful... congratulations! mia & sebastian's theme was the cherry on top. crossed fingers I'll join you next year :') -another prospective arts student
This was an amazing video!!! I mean I'm blown away at the skill and quality of your cinematography just straight out of high school, I can't even imagine what else you'll create at Stanford. And as jealous as I am (I didn't get accepted into any of the schools I applied to, so I'm just at community college rn) this really helped change my perspective on my experience and make me feel a lot better about the situation at hand. Just goes to show how important and lifechanging film can be :)
This truly changed something in me, as a senior applying to UCLA, USC, NYU etc. for Game design, i am anxious but your video was comforting instead of worsening my anxiety.
This peace of work displays how so many applying students like myself feel, and I feel a little bit better knowing my peers are on the same boat as me. I'll come back to this comment if I get accepted to my dream univeristy.
Keep coming back to this film and get goosebumps .Every. Single. Time. I will never stop loving this. I hope to meet you someday soon! Please never give up Heechan🙏

Wishing you all the best in your next journey. Hopefully we'll be able to see amazing works done by your hand in the future! ✨✨
