I'm relatively new to SC2, and I found the hotkeys were difficult until I realised I could switch to QWERT layout like in Age of Empires II-maybe having all the keys bound to 1 side of the keyboard would help you too? Love the video, your enthusiasm for the game is infectious
@@ToxicSpilll Coming back to this to say that your video encouraged me to play Artanis, and oh my gosh, he's insanely fun. After getting a feel for him, I figured I'd try Karax and Vorazun next and oh my God, the Protoss commanders feel so disgusting. I feel like I need to go to confession, and I'm not even Catholic. Thank you for literally inspiring me.
I started my Coop journey as Artanis, always found myself with goon/immortal somehow even if that was not the comp I was going for! It was like a primal urge or something
maybe, I'm not a pro at all when it comes to maps. I playing like an ape, clicking whatever I think works and hope for the best. LOL. In all seriousness, I am not sure about that one, I will have to put a little more thought into that one.
The description is ironic for me, as I suck at every commander that isn't Protoss lol. Probably because I suck at macro and most Protoss commanders have something to simplify macro, Artanis starts with 200 supply, Vorazun has automatic Vespene harvesters, Karax has instabuild pylons and Chrono Wave, and Zeratul... well, is Zeratul.
Protoss are definitely not user-friendly commanders or even faction playstyle. I had a lot of troubles when I started out as well. Don't worry, you will get better.
@@ToxicSpilll Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant that I do much better with Protoss commanders, as I find them much more user friendly due to their simplified macro and death ball playstyle. Thank you for your words of support!
@@ToxicSpilll have you played with Arkship Commandant or Nexus Legate? Absolutely broken. Instant tp+ speed boost or 5 1000 hp archons that do 200+ dps and twice as many shield overcharges... even Valourous Inspirator is insane: 160 damage psi storm, 60 damage whirlwind and double speed charge, 400 damage absorption barrier, double production speed reavers, twice the graviton beam, 1000 damage tempest disintegration... Artanis is really fun, and I went into playing him with the same attitude, I didn't think I'd like him!
You think protoss is an economy hog. Play zagara before mastery. Controls groups man. You can warp in more units without taking your eyes off the battle if you put your production into control groups. Immortals will do poorly against a low hp zergy comp as well. Promising content. Keep it up.
@@ToxicSpilll It's pretty much the same in fire power. Think of it as 50 or 25 or so dragoons equiates to 15 xel'naga ambushers and 15 or 20 or so immortals would be similar to 15 xel'naga enforcers. Only diff is that the immortals of Artanis can't hit air units. Still dragoons can pretty much delete any armored unit

Thank you very much. I try to make it as interesting as possible cause normally RTS games are SO fun to play and VERY boring to watch.

It's such a roll of the dice strategy, but it is so fun regardless.
Hey Spill. why not make a new series of guides going through each maps and as well as the tips and tricks for some commanders?

Artanis is fun as hell when he gets to lv 15 and p3. Mainly because you need only 1 pylon.
Pretty much. Population is completely taken care of when he hits level 15 and he only needs to build Pylons when he needs buildings.

i can see that you building pylons as terrans build supply depots. :) the trick with pylons is to cover territory and use them as teleporting beacons.
And of course, in the case of Artanis. He has power fields as an ability that only costs a small charge time. A truly wonderful ability.
@@ToxicSpilll yup. but still, cannons could protect your base a bit longer if placed in overlapping pattern.

Specialized units have a large cost indeed.
