Alarak, Dehaka and Tychus are all basically the cool looking, more brutal bodyguards to the main leader in each of their campaigns, and they are each my favorite commanders.

Raynor and artanis really should be higher in my opinion.

tbh if you dont play a million mutators, but brutal. you just go for whos the fastest. cause they can all wipe the floor on brutal, question is how fast. if you have alot of mutators, you just go for commanders who suit those mutators or if its rndm you go for a good allrounder, that dont instakill your team if you hit couple certain mutators. but for regular brutal (we talking the maps where speed actually matters, transtarsonic and this stuff is scripted. fastest you can go there is who can burst down the last train quicker then anybody else lol). on top of that its all about synergies. karax isnt fast, but if you use stukov with karax, stukov will pump out insane amounts of units or a kerrigan that doesnt need to worry about creepspread anymore, while giving stukov an atk speed boost. and yes some playstyles are rlly strong, but get countered by certain enemies. like mutas or void rays against the zerg spellcasters. S: Mengsk(Artillery), Stukov(Mech), Zeratul(ruptor/immortal), Stetmann(ling/hydra), Abathur, Vorazun (DT), Zagara A: Kerrigan(Ling/Muta or ling/hydra), Karax(zelot/inductor), Alarak(Void Ray), Tychus(Sam, Sirius, Rattlesnake, Nux), Nova(Marine, Ghost, Raven) B: Dehaka C: Fenix, Han&Horner D: Raynor F: Artanis, Swann Karax is a good example where you probably think "why is it A?". in the end you can clear your expansion with your top bar right at the start, you have much faster worker production, you can instabuild pylons which is nice if you build everything rlly fast. then you just 8 gate. your inductors give atk/movespeed buffs, your topbar clears large chunks of enemies as well as invis if needed. your prestige 2 reduces unit cost by 40% which is ridiculous on top of having a repair beam healing your units since even your zelots are mechs and they can revive themselfes. you have so many buffs for yourself and your teammate to boost production and to heal, you are constantly spamming your topbar to kill stuff, while your zelot/inductor army is getting bigger at an alarming rate. small unit models helps with fitting in a huge deathball with your mate. and your inductor can make an energyfield everywhere it is, so you keep one in that mode while the rest fights so you can 24/7 warp in more and more troops. warpgate karax is insanly fast, not the highest in terms of dmg output against objectives (since all those zelots will block themselfes cause you got so many), but the topbar versatility and all those buffs make it so your teammate can focus on one thing and thats pumping out stuff to snipe the objectives. not even talking about prestige 1 def karax being a literal wall nobody can pass. i know Raynor and Artanis together can cheese and be the GOATs, but that is on a specific map in a premade lobby. if you queue into rndm people you want sth less specific. In the right hands, Abathur is the fastest commander even for solo runs. i dont rlly like playing him, but its undeniable how good he is. Fenix is so overrated. slightly better base toss army. idk man Kerrigan is just super crazy. build a couple omegas and waypoints from hatcheries to them, then spam hydras and fill up with lings. all you do is jump into the enemies base, ult them so they cant do shit, then spam your omegas everywhere and unload. your whole army is evenly spread around omegas which spread creep and therefor give atk speed and hp reg to your entire army. Nova never looses her army. all you do is spam marines, ghosts and ravens. all bio armies are basically oneshot to the ghosts triple shot and mech armies die to the marines. marines heal, ravens heal and your topbar shields. if someone manages to loose units with her, that person shouldnt play nova. Swanns defense is worse then Karax, his support is worse then Karax, his army is worse then Karax, slower and block your own and your teammates army. hes just bad. Vorazun idk what you are talking about. void rays are just to fragile, her fastest and strongest playstyle by far is dt spam. dont worry about detection or anti air. you got a teammate with you. you snipe objectives, you can just phase out all buildings that have detection (autocast) and during their dmg ability they are immune. if they get killed they get revived for free (once). but usually you blink into hordes of enemies and oneshot every ground unit and phase out all buildings. thx to the ability they all stack on top of each other and you can attack with a couple dozen dts on a single void thrasher. you deal 2k+ dmg with every attack and then you blink out again. thats without using timestop (ridiculous ability). Zagara you either go mass scourge, preemptively trigger void thrashers ignore all enemies by flying at the edge of the map and simply snipe them or go mass bane and roll over all ground units or buildings (when scourges cant hit the objectives). im usually using 6-8 hatcheries with her and nonstop produce units.

I though Vorazun was terrible to grind to max Presige but OMG is artanis even worse. Vora was atleast intresting to play. Artanis is JUST BORING, that and his army is terrible till level 15 due to the massive early game mineral cost.

i think i l'm lucky that i learned quite a lot from multiple war material about flexible mindset. Prestige 1 Artanis remains my favorite as I feel stupid elite. I have Nerazim's brutal damage though low numbers but also maintain First Born's tactical veratility. Combined that with some knowledge about ancient Rome Army and really every player i play with always feel save to just go do their thing when my army is straight up a crusade. 2 Zaelots -> 1 Dragoon as starting point I have two and then i get an observer first before another 2 Zaelot - 1 Dragon thing. Then 2 Immortals as Akundelar and 3 Phoebes, then finally 2-3 Tempests, making more Robotics and Warp Gates. For structure, i go hard by 3 Forges and 2 Cybernetic Cores pretty early, then a Twillight Council super early to boost my quality.

A buddy of mine and I wanted to test this with "Empower Me". He was Alarak and I was Swann I think (don't matter, all that mattered was we both could get a 200 population cap). So we both maxed out our armies to the full 200 and had Alarak do "Empower Me" in the middle of both of our armies. His damage went a little over 5000. It was insane and hilarious at the same time.

Mengsk is a MESSSSSSSS. Is a waste of time and everything

honestly hate cradle of death, my dad and I have been playing coop since it launched, and Ive been playing since WoL launched, the only mission we consistently skip is cradle of death because of how clunky the trucks feel and how little enjoyment we get from the mission, as it is just boring

I gotta disagree with you here. Nova's P2 is INSANELY GOOD, it makes the tactical airlift have a 30 SECONDS cooldown. This basically makes Nova's army omnipresent. The airstrike now changes to 120 seconds cooldown which is not bad since it costs 1k minerals you're not spaming it anyways.

Zagara is my favorite commander, I find it can tackle brutal 5 mutators better with her than any other.

Im sure on some level this is personal preference. But i feel like alarak should be on the list. Maybe replacing artanis. He's really strong and the composition decision making is very straightforward. Also just very fun to play IMO.

That kerrigan bit is absolutely slanderous, you go omega worm and just pure torrasque, she can deal with air, plus the acenscion perks make her units cheaper on gas, which is the big limiting factor in coop. I will not tolerate this slanderous speech 😤

Ironically, in BW Mengsk was the ONLY "good guy", in the face of annihilation of the the entirely of humanity he was the only one to actually unite everyone, even though this required him to step on everyone's toes. It's a shame in SC2 they removed all gray area from the game and made him basically a moron who is "evil" yet Kerrigan, who literally slaughtered billions, is somehow "the good guy" because magic prophecies. Yes, Mengsk was a tyrant, but when the total eradication of life due to aliens is a constant threat 24/7, there can be no room for traitors and no room for cults (like the Raynor's raiders for example, who allied with literally the worst possible aliens to exist and nearly destroy all of humanity just to get revenge off a single person for someone he barely even knew). SC2 story was such a shame compared to BW

Why are you playing on hard?

Fenix was a hero in star craft one. My heart cried when I couldn't save him. He is like Tassadar or Tyrael from Diablo. An unsung hero of bravery, sacrifice and justice.

For me (someone who only focus artanis for coop and still have bad strategy in most map) kerrigan and Raynord sure damn hard to control 😅😅

8 seconds is a fairly large amount of time. You use it right and then swarm in the destroy detectors and tougher enemies. Probes move in behind you to start the pylon warp in. In 8 seconds you have set up a forward attack point, made your army invisible and eliminated most of the big threats making what follows super easy. On defense it’s a more straightforward gives you time to reinforce type situation but if your forced to use it in defense you probably messed up.

I just started playing starcraft again and I tried the custom maps.. and I noticed that kerrigan is in her human form whenever I select her as my commander.. is there a way to change her to the queen of blades form for customs co-op.?

you gotta be kidding me, kerrigan is one of, if not, the BEST commanders in the game. Her nydus canals are absolutely over powered. The hero alone can carry most of the missions all by herself let alone her units. You just don't know how to play her. Her canals mitigate most of the brutal+6 mutations also.

Imo, Chains of Ascension with random allies is prolly the least consistent map. You never know what to expect lol.

Prestige 1 and prestige 3 are what you will likely find. Basically either mech comp or infantry comp.

I like stukov because he is the hordeist commander and because him as a character is really cool.

Malwarfare seems impossible depending on the build. The bonus objectives are too hard

My favorite commanders are Zeratul, Nova, Dehaka, Fenix ​​and Tychus. Swann's wraiths arguably have the high output damage than most of the other units in the roster pound for pound. Not to mention that multiple scv's can build structures, you can get most of his builds on the go fairly early.

Is there a timer to be able to summon new Outlaws ? I get Tychus and then I save up to summon my first Outlaw....but after that, even when I have enough minerals and gas to summon the 3rd Outlaw, I can't always. I can eventually get the 4th Outlaw out but it is hit or miss getting the 5th Outlaw out and I have every building built and have all the minerals and gas needed. What am I missing ?

Thank you for the info. The first few times I played Stukov, I cant quite get use to how he play at all so I dont play him. Years past I try again. Now he is my all time favorite. Never though of using bunker as a mobile unit before. I will try that even though he alrady quite OP in Hard difficulty.
