- When Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) firefighters forced their way into a burning maisonette at Fajar Road last Thursday morning (Apr 21), they saw a distressing sight through the thick black smoke.
No one was home, but littered every two to three steps along the hallways and in the living room and kitchen, were the limp bodies of cats.
Meet the firefighters who rescued more than a dozen cats from the flat.

@Happy Happy u got see ppl letting their dogs roam around outside their house on their own? NO. But time and time again, MANY cat owners let their cats outside, destroy property, scratch here scratch there. Irresponsible.

Thank you for the great job and I am suggesting that SCDF should train all firefighters for animals rescue. I am shocked and upset that this was not part of their training.
hmm who will fund the training? and the time taken for the training? no offense but if it takes $100,000 to do all the training and the time involved.. its not going to benefit much in a sense the occurrence isn't freq.

Fire personnel, incumbent performs duties to prevent, combat and extinguish fires, *protect lives* and properties, maintain firefighting equipment, respond to other emergencies, keep equipment and personnel in a state of readiness for such ... that is their mission
There are thousands & one things to learn, how much trainings do you expect? They are professionals, with their vital skills, plus experience & critical thinking, they will sure be able to handle many unexpected situations.
@@ylangbluejr8614 Saving lives ( including animals ) is part of the job for firefighters, isn’t? Of cos there will be priority between human beings and animals but they should be train for such rescue, saving and protecting lives are their responsibility.

The homeowner has flouted HDB rules in keeping the cats as home pets, not to even mention a dozen of them. One can only imagine what the neighbours have to tolerate with the mewing, etc.

What do you know? I am scared of dogs, but at least majority of the owners are responsible and TRAIN their dogs, while MANY cat owners are irresponsible

We just lost 20 dogs in fire.. 20 saved. Zero help and fire showed up 45 min later let out all saved and had to gather again😡😡😡
Can we know why keep 20 dogs inside your house and what is it for ?
