- So here's the last of the six reviews of XMRE's 2015 lineup of menus. I've found the XMRE company to be a very good example of quality commercial MREs. It seems that independent companies like XMRE and Meal Kit Supply try a bit harder to put out a good product than the three companies that supply genuine MREs to the government and also produce their own civilian counterparts. when he is pulling guard duty. Finally.......some coffee in an MRE review. Seems lately coffee has been absent. I know in my day we could always count on our coffee in our C-Rats ( MCI really ).
Alex Jackson, by the way, always gives you a shout out whenever he pulls up the FRH heating pack and shows the
" Do NOT Eat " warming haha. He is young and it can be seen you veteran MRE reviewers have influenced him.

But I have one question... Is it true that you have problems when you eat MRE regulary? I mean do you have problems? Or is it proved that you will have problems? I kinda want to buy another one! Jack Ripper As of February 2015 XMRE didn't have Beef Ravioli, but they're constantly adjusting and changing their menus so I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the future. Of course Beef Ravioli IS one of the entrees in genuine MREs, so you can find it in them, TOTMs and commercial MREs from other companies!

i notice you mention the percentage value of certian nutrients. just wanted to make sure you knew that those values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet, but if a soldier is eating mres 3x a day then thats at least 3,000 calories.

Those cookie bites look cancerlicious but i'd kill to try some with Nutella. It seems the entree is the same as the DoD MRE, I can't imagine a thermal pouch for slitting along the "bowl" side of these.. it will be interesting to see who solves that first. Great Vid as Always! Karnack As R Wong said, yes, the entrees in XMREs are the exact same ones found in genuine MREs. The "notch issue" is an interesting one. A long time ago they had two sets of tear notches at the top of the pouch. At some point they realized that it was easier to eat out of the pouch if they put the notches along the long side. But now they've introduced the cardboard sleeves and it's not convenient at all to use them as pouch holders for hot entrees because of the fact that the notches are going the long way. Now I seem to find some going one way and some going the other. Not sure if there's even a standard way right now! I personally would like to see notches on BOTH sides, and the user could decide which way works better for their current situation.
***** Yeah like cookie crisp, I forgot the name of the brand so I am sticking with cancerlicious :P I still think those with nutella on two maple muffin tops would be the breakfast of champions for an airman at Lackland haha! I would love to start roaming the world and finding items to put in the "Best MRE Ever!" I already roam the world, but supermarkets and groceries become quickly difficult to navigate in countries where you can't speak the language. If you review Eversafe I'd love to see it.
gschultz9 Yeah, I noticed the notch situation before several times. Maybe it' a ploy to keep everyone confused....:) or to keep their Leatherman(tm) sharp. I agree with the notches on both sides thing...
I've been in situations where either-or worked so the knife/scissors route has been ok, but, the notches, that' where it's at. They do that with some small packet stuff from groceries and restaurants in Asia already and it's nice for controlling serving as well. For our troops... they could just Chinook in some New York and Chicago style pizzas and let everyone duke it out :P

What would it look like if you didn't mix the peanut butter
Winston Qiu About the same. Even those that come with MREs several years old, there usually isn't much of a difference. But if it's stored poorly, perhaps the peanut oil may separate from the peanut butter (like a jar of peanut butter) and mixing it will just return it to normal. The peanut butter is very similar if not better to the kind you can buy at a grocery store.
.......so me being a picky eater i.e. i don't eat cheese or tomatoes or beans id be pretty screwed when i comes to MRE's

I got some XMREs recently and the menu was slightly different.
Acebenman Huh, they've probably already tinkered with the menus again! They're pretty much constantly adjusting and changing things to try to put out the best possible product that they can.
Oh and also, have you heard from ales from Slovenia,did he ever start up a review channel?
That Guy Ales did say he was happy with the result of the video, but hasn't mentioned anything to me about starting up a new channel for reviews. His current channel has more to do with car stuff and as far as I know that what he wants to keep doing there. I believe that was part of the reason for him wanting to send me the review to post rather than getting involved with review videos himself. That's just my take on it though. Not sure what's in his mind of course!
