Apack Ready Meal Emergency food

Turns out these were packed 5 years ago, so the heater not working is not surprising.
We bought a Christmas in July deal that gave a case of meals for $29.95 for 12 meals when you bought 2 cases. each case has 6 different menus that give you an entree, a heater, a smoothie and crackers with spread.
The meals mostly contain meat and are familiar to American palates.
These are not MREs, but provide around 1000 kcal per meal.
At $3 a meal, these are a well priced backup food for times when power might be out or traveling to a store might not be possible.

The heater won't work but it's a lot cheaper to buy a ton of food cheaper then the mre's

Thanks for watching. It is cheap when you buy 2 cases. I eaten 2 different menus and they are filling. I'd like to see more variety for the cracker spread, maybe jelly. I get it that sunflower butter has some protein and avoids the peanut allergy thing, but it gets monotonous.

As a kid camping out in the summer, we had some C rations from neighbors serving at the nearby army base. They were pretty old and I remember them having matches and cigarettes in the box. This was in the 60's.

As a Boy Scout, we were given C rations once and remembered that the scout master came around and took the 3 cigarette pack that was included in the ration. 😂

THE PROTEIN BAR IS THE BEST PART.. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A QUICK MEAL WHILE HUNTING OR FISHING THIS YEAR... I WOULD GRAB A CASE, BUT NOT TO STOCKPILE... Thanks for commenting. I picked up 2 cases to get the deal price. $3 for 1000kcal of ready to eat food seems OK, but the manufacture date was older than expected. The smoothie is a little odd compared to MRE beverages, but it is emergency food. I'll probably work through about 2 meals a month and replace them with more current date MRE's.

I bought these similar price from another site. Same issue, FRHs didn't work at all in any of the mres. I was going to take them backpacking and glad I tried a couple before I did as I would have been upset to find it didn't heat up like it should somewhere there wasn't a good way to heat them up. The meals were overly sweet but did taste good, which I guess they had to make up for the less sodium. Supposedly there are two different flavor smoothies, but I only got the apple banana and not the grape sweet potato in all the mres in my box. I was hoping to have tried the grape sweet potato. The smoothie was super sweet, so I think this was a pretty disappointing MRE in my opinion. Yes the price is cheaper, but a lot of negatives in my opinion. I guess for a less expensive MRE, what can one expect? Thanks for showing the reviews of these.

The potato smoothie is really sweet with a raisin flavor. The mains are filling. I look at these as something to keep in the car or to have in a total power loss scenario. If I'm hunting or hiking, I'm going to pack a MRE. Toilet paper is always good to have along.

If the heater doesn't work, then pour the salt into the water and shake it up. This will allow the heater to work.

I've used handwarmers before and they didn't seem hot enough to esrm a ration. Have you had success doing that?

Thanks for watching. The meals aren't as complete as MREs and I miss the coffee. They do fill a spot in an emergency pantry and I have felt full after eating them. Too bad the heaters haven't work.

I've been seeing these 2019 packdate A-Packs from several sellers online (like you said, probably FEMA surplus or something). After watching your review I'm probably gonna pick up a case or 2. Even with their shortcomings it's hard to argue with $3/meal.

I don’t know if those are truly surplus or just cycling old inventory.
The ready meals are sold to the general public.
I do know that FEMA now has its own emergency ration called the survivor daily ration.

Be careful using the heating pack indoors. They create hydrogen gas shich can displace oxygen and they stink as well.

Thanks for the question. Army Navy Outdoors had the deal last month. 2 cases weigh 25 pounds and shipping was about $11, not bad. I'll be posting another review on the pork menu.

@TwoRiders The price was really good and what really caught my attention was the sweet and sour chicken and pork with gravy and rice. I reached out to Army Navy but theu said theu can't ship meat to Canada. Typical communist country.

Same mre will now run u. 800 bucks and have to pay a 30 grand. Online sales tax. With every can of woke democrat beans
