Super photogenic van. I am so impressed that Tia and Jordan have managed to cut back and de-clutter so much. I am not sure I could manage with so little.
That's a Home! What a lovely airy vibe, with so many subtle characterful touches. I'm so jealous! And your pup was so well behaved - not one yap! Well done, and thanks for sharing. 🙏✌
This was just like my grandparents with their split screen van in the 1960s and 70s. I used to play in their spliitty with my brother, we loved that old bus. Fast forward 50 years and I've just bought a split screen to restore!
Good luck,I love your van. My parents had a commer van in the 1960’s. which my dad converted, we use to travel everywhere in it. In 1968 we went to Monte Carlo.
I lost my friend Aiden Rainer in Australia. If you find him say hi for me! Kick ass van I have been thinking I want one along side a BMW wagon... my 2000 finally took a crap on me. At least it turned 21
Hi, I've just found your videos and really love them. I have just bought a 1971 kombi that is almost identical to yours, including the full sized bed and pop top. Like yours, it is otherwise empty and as I really like your setup I'm going to copy it pretty much (I hope that's OK with you...). Thanks for your stories, I hope they keep coming. Maurice
love it. I htink the full side to side bed in the back was a good choice! sleeping comfortable is the #1 priority when it comes to travel in a van for me anyway.
haha yeah I am a cabinet maker and mdf would certainly not be something I would consider good for water OR light weight. if painted up well it will be reasonably good with dampness but yeah....I go with marine ply for any kind of camper build stuff, it IS light weight and does well with water. just not very cheap.even just regular cabinet grade plywood with a good clear on it will hold up very well. I do not reccomend mdf in a camper build.
I have one of these things ! It’s a model of something called ‘’ Westfalia ‘’ it says this on a little metal plate on one of the cabinets. My father bought it from German country and had sipping to Thailand in 1968 it is white on outside and Beige on inside has sink, little fridge, propane tanks on the outside bottom and has a plug that is on the outside of van that gives power to inside of van ! Right now it is in San Francisco by the bridge in my garage I keep it in there because it has a pop up top that you can sleep in if you wish and has windows on pop top also. I don’t need it and I want it gone ! So if you want you can have free ! The engine has 400 miles and I have all VW paperwork and uncaps are still in original plastic bag from the factory! If you want you must move yourself at YOUR EXPENSE ! I WILL NOT HELP YOU WITH SHIPPING !
He's got a phone charger plugged into the inverter so they're converting from 12v to 120/240v and then back to 5v to charge their phones. Try charge as much stuff without the inverter for better efficiency.
Back in the 90s I used to drive a74 VW camper just like this, same color too. Of course it wasn't in this beautiful condition partly because repair and parts cost where I live was nothing short of obscene. VW Canada charged more for parts for these old VW classics than did Porsche. In 1994 VW Canada charged almost $1200 for a muffler for a 74 Transporter... plus highest labour rates in the industry bringing the total cost to over $2000 for a fucking muffler. They refused to give any discount, not a penny. I remember some assorted hardware for the brakes cost six times more than it did in the US. They were total greed heads and petty and arrogant too always looking for anything they could and charge the absolute maximum for it. They even wanted to charge me over night rental fees for picking it up the next day after repairs were completed. That's why I got rid of the thing and vowed never to give VW Canada another dime of my business ever again.
Fabulous video guys I'm almost finished my kombi. You have given me some great ideas for my interior. Thank you subscribed as well. 🏴 Mikey from South Wales uk. 🏴
nice kombi. Ive owned three over the years. I had one as my first car bought it in 2005 for $650 aud. I like them to this day but they are rust buckets.
Do you plan on going international after the virus is dead? You might get some ideas from Kombi Life 2.0--- They bought my 73 high top and did a custom interior- They will eventually get to Aussi as Leah is a native Love your custom interior especially the slid out kitchen top. Do you follow other travel blogs? Right now the nomade bunch is kinda being broken up and having to leave their vans all over the world in storage and get flights out.of where ever they get quarantined at. There is a ton of VW info in a site called SambaVW Highly recommend you join up and get access to their extraordinary tech section. and the forums where every remote problem that has ever been encountered is addressed.. So will sub and thumbs up and look forward to your adventures-

This couple is so wholesome they are living a simple life and are really thriving with smiles on their faces this is how I wanna live someday
I’ve dreamed of doing this since I found out about Volkswagen busses and this inspired me a lot more because I know it’s possible

Our cat is called Stella. Same story. Love at first sight. Took her home. Best decision ever!
Adorable, I have a 71
Light and airy campervan. It's a great colour!
I like having a fold-down upper berth so I don't have 2 make up the bed, hanging space 4a few pretty dresses. and the unegociable PORTA POTTY!
Thx for having been in Bali.

Love your little yellow van. Thanks for sharing.

If you made the drawers magnetic you wouldn’t have as big of a problem with them opening. Your van is really cute!
I love your video so much, guys
This one is a good job
Καλησπέρα σας Μπράβο σάς. Πείτε μου ψυγείο ένα μικρό πλυντήριο;
Enjoyed that, seeing how you'd made the most of the space. Wish I had a £ for every 'super' though. 😉

Where Do You Get Your Couch Cushions From?
We got the foam from Clark Rubber and the cushions custom made :)
Why put a clean white mat on the gross ground?
Great build! How did you rout the cabling for the solar panel on the pop top? I have a 76 and am trying to figure out the best way
What do they cook on? And no refrigeration?
Possibly a portable stove, and for refrigeration they may have a cooler and purchase ice for it
