- Dresser makeover: This massive dresser and pair of nightstands needed a good cleaning and a big makeover. I’m detailing how I updated this vintage furniture with new wood bases, updated the cabinet doors, refinished the tops, and rescued them from dirt and disrepair.

These pieces are so beautiful. The extra details like the extra supports and rounded edges on the legs are something I don't think most furniture refinishers would bother to do but I appreciate that you are giving these pieces their best life.
Thank you so much for those kind words 🥰 I think that extra effort is what sets a piece apart and (hopefully!) is what’s appreciated most by its new owners.
They are really beautiful! It’s apparent that you pay attention to the details and it shows through in the finished product. Great work!
Thank you so much, and thanks for watching 🥰
First time viewer. Your skills are impressive. The finished piece is beautiful.

Everything you said DITTO! Great channel.
@@rescuedbyamy What Wendy said. Also, I didn’t know about clamping the wood while driving the screws so that the wood doesn’t shift. And the massive pipe clamp idea is genius! THANK YOU! B~}

Great job! I love the way you did your base! Beautiful design on the doors! ❤❤❤ Great video! 😊👍
Thank you so much! Yes the old bases definitely had to go 🤪 First time using Ash and I loved it!!
I’ll have to remember to look into ash! Did you list the screws? Spax brand? I might try those! Had a split on one of my legs the last time
Yes!! Spax makes a hardwood screw and it works so much better than regular screws for hardwoods like oak and ash.
Thank you, Amy!

Thank you! I used Sherwin Williams’ Gallery Series paint, the color is Accessible Beige. First time using this color and I love it!
Not sure if I missed it, what color is the body of the dresser. Beautiful job!
Thank you! I used Sherwin Williams Gallery Series paint in the color Accessible Beige.
@@rescuedbyamy Great!!!!
Very nice.....at least not green ir blue that looks so cheap....
Thanks! I’m in coastal FL so light neutral shades are popular here.
Such beautiful transformations ..may I Ask for the color of paint you used please
Thank you! 😊 Happy to share that info. I’m using Sherwin Williams Gallery Series paint in the color Accessible Beige.
@@rescuedbyamythank you 🥰
Fantastic quality craftswomanship. But then ... paint over wood?? Paint? Your piece, your choice; but paint over a classic piece?
Fair question 😊 Maybe I’ll discuss in more detail a future video. But basically it comes down to a few factors: 1. Condition. I don’t acquire pieces that are in pristine condition or are valuable antiques. They’re usually in fair to poor condition, not gently used. Sometimes, pieces are too far gone to be restored. 2. The amount of time and materials I invest has to be returned in the sale price. 3. Styles in my local market. I’m in coastal Florida. The lighter colors and styles are more popular here. I hope this helps shed some light on why I went this route 🙂
@@rescuedbyamy Makes sense with the coastal vibe and all. Just hate seeing your excellent work, only to be covered by paint. Nonetheless, love your videos; love your channel!
Thank you 😊
I hated the original style. The finished product is such an improvement
Aww thank you! 😊
