    Did you use a loop back harness to integrate with the OEM? I used a loopback on my 2024 Chevrolet 2500 with 60 ohm audio control resistors for door chime. All of that seemed to work well but if I volume factory stereo over 80% the amp goes into protect on the sub channel (not that I run it at 80% but why...). I have the factory subwoofer disconnected at the harness so wondering if it needs to detect that load or something? Lastly, Bluetooth audio randomly drops signal during voice calls which could be because I am using the wrong load resistors, IDK. I'm starting to question if my OEM amp is faulty because it even occurs when take the loopback harness out and plug back into OEM (basically testing running the Bose amp straight back to speakers). They are aftermarket speakers but still a 4 ohm load. This is killing me though and I don't know where to turn at this point...

      Honestly the last few systems I’ve done had the Axxess interface in them. I used an Android tablet to control it. In one system I used it as a preamp and the other as a DSP. So far so good.

    Great video. I have a 23 Silverado with Bose. Metra makes a dsp and harness but they are back ordered and no ship date. It allows u to adjust chemes, etc. My trusty installer wouldn't touch the truck without it. I have another installer with good reviews but never used him. He wants to do the install with a lc7i. Not sure how he is dealing with chimes, etc. Thinking maybe just dobsub for now and wait for Metra to start shipping interface. Any advice? Another installer wants to use a lc7i and no dsp. Just hate to mess up a new truck and if there are warranty issues.....

      @@lancesautovlog I had a DSP in my Car - it was a Audison Bit Ten. It worked very well. I do have most of the components but my installer won't touch the truck until he can get an interface for the BOSE system in my 23 Silverado. I found this online. I think this is what he was talking about. Axxess AXDSPX-ETH1 For now I may just do a subwoofer install with the Kicker Keyloc and an Epicenter for kicks. Once he gets the interface I'll do a full install. Thinking I may do dash speakers too for now. Do you know if 2.5" is the largest dash speaker allowed?

    • @lancesautovlog
      @lancesautovlog  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could go as larger as 3.5 speaker, but that’s the largest I would do. Are you thinking of use a middler(tweller) speaker?

    • @traderfjp
      @traderfjp 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lancesautovlog The stock dash speaker does around 200hz to 20k. I want to replace it with something in that range. The problem I have is that I don't know the sensitivity of the dash speakers so I'm flying in the dark. Eventually I will install my 6 x 9 Hertz Millies but they are very sensitive. 93spl. So I might just wait but I really want to get rid of the dash speakers since they put out all the high frequencies. The door speakers cut off at 5k hz. I'm definitely doing the subwoofer and when my go to guy gets the harness I'll let him do the rest of the install. I'll have him install my Alpine PDX-V9 amp with Kicker Keyloc and an Epicenter for fun. I have an 8" Alpine MM sub which is very musical. I have a 12" Titanic 1200 sitting in my closet so it will get a shot at beating out the 8". I'm not into loud boomy bass. I like more musical bass. By the way do you know if my installer would have to do any cutting to get the 3.5" dash speakers to fit? Do you think it's worth it for now or just wait? Thanks again for the video.

    • @lancesautovlog
      @lancesautovlog  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@traderfjp there are a number of middler speakers out there. All the major brands offer them. The may not play down to 200Hz, but they will do 300Hz to 500Hz is not out of the question. A 6X9 will play up higher than that easily.
      A Kicker Keyloc will eliminate any delay & allpass filters if they are present. So building a system shouldn’t be out of the question.

  • @johnjohnyjonock

    Did you use 20 ohm or 60 ohms resistors to maintain your door chimes? This is a non bose system. How about the ANC -active noise cancellation - did that make a hissing sound or mess with volumes? Very similar to my build. Two infinity amps, epi centre, DM -810 , all fit on board behind seats on firewall. Kappa tweets, 6x9's , 6.5 rear doors and pioneer mids mounted under back seats with 12" RF shallow sub. Sounds real good now the bugs are out. Good job on your install.

    • @lancesautovlog
      @lancesautovlog  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Audison Forza DSP amp have a feature call USS(Universal Speakers Simulator). This feature create the illusion that there is a speaker automatically. So no resistors are required.
      There was no ANC on this truck. I didn't experience any hissing or mess with the OEM volume control.
      If you're using an Audio Control DSP/DSP amp you will need load resistors for sure. Hopefully your systems sounds as good as this did.

    Also, I would suggest a wide band for the dash instead of a tweeter...they're too far apart and things don't line up or sound right, you need mid range on the dash! That's what came factory anyway 😬🤷‍♂️
