I just finished the install of this exact part number sub in my new 24 "High Country" diesel dually, you should make a note of those with the "factory Bose system" option will need to instead splice into the main Hugh wiring harness running down the passenger front kick panel ;wires twisted Yellow/Yellow Black for green brown to connect requiring to cut the sheath protector (without slicing anything) which really sucks but done carefully by the Non Idiot works fine also it is "impossible" to run the long cable from "front to rear" as those connectors which plug to the amp are Hugh and will not feed through any channel on the sill so..The cable with the small plugs must be first fed from the rear to the front then connected afterward to the firewall Power wires previously fed through the wall..Also there is a plug 2 prong which goes nowhere (Bose system model) and is bundled up amp end..All this shit is never mentioned in the install instructions from Kicker...Something the first timer or amateur should know..I installed many so it was a no brainer..Their tech line is fast though for questions..No knob and mine kicks ass might try the knob though..Good vid though for the non Bose guy, thanks

Since you have done a few of these what would you compare this to? Similar to say a self powered Rockford Fosgate from Amazon? I have a 24 with a Bose and wasnt sure to go with this or some other sub $1,000 add on. I dont have a crew cab and was thinking id like the option to pull it out if i need floor space. Using QDs for wiring. Being this is bolted im not sure especially since ive never heard it. My previous truck Ram with Alpine factory sub was just fine but this Bose is just awful.

@@fernandocastro2458 the knob will work. I went to a lot of forums for other people setting the dip switches. If I didn't say it in this video, I know I have in one of the other two showing this install.
I’m in a predicament and I’m hoping that you can point me in the right direction. I bought a 2023 ZR2 over a year ago, and bought the kicker sub from the dealership at the same time. I decided not to install it because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of pulling all the wiring to swap it into my HD ZR2 When it arrived. I took delivery on my HD ZR2(24), and had the dealership install the system that I bought for my 23 1500 ZR2. It isn’t working. The dealership service department claims that the system isn’t for the 24 HD’s. So I decided to come to TH-cam U and see if I couldn’t troubleshoot it myself, and lo and behold, it is the model without the dip switches. Am I SOL? If so, what’s a good alternative solution to get this rear floor decoration running? I can’t exchange it even though it’s brand new, because I bought it over a year ago.
@@natearriaga5733 it's the same part number (isn't it?) so I don't know why it wouldn't be working. I'd start by checking the fuse but the battery. Maybe they forgot to put that in? I believe there's an LED on the amp so see if it's lit up. Gotta at least have power to make it run! That's where I'd start.
@@phil_hazzy to my knowledge, it is the same part number but I am gonna do a deeper dive into it as the dealership is claiming that they went as far as contacting Kicker and claimed that Kicker said that it isn’t compatible with my truck. All of the forums, all of the groups, and everywhere else that I’ve scrounged is saying that it’s universal to this generation of the Silverado, HD or not. As for power, it’s definitely receiving power as the lights you mentioned are definitely functioning. I’ll look into the fuses in the meantime. I’m getting to the point where I am contemplating going to an audio shop to have them troubleshoot it if I can’t figure it. I’m just trying to do as much homework as possible, but I’m hitting dead ends. I can’t be the only one who is dealing with this if what the dealership is saying is true.
@@natearriaga5733 if you have lights, then the next thing I'd check is under the glovebox to make sure they spliced into the correct wires! It really is a simple installation and it does work in the HDs. I've talked to kicker about it too and they're super helpful!
Great video! My kicker sub is sitting in my garage right now waiting to be installed I will be referring to this throughout the installation. Silly question, but on the battery would it still be stud #1 on the 6.6 duramax?
Silly answer...yes! I don't think it really matters which stud you attach to on the positive terminal though. Have fun installing! I've done this install in a few other GM trucks. Check those out for some other tips and tricks!

Only difference was when I was fishing the wire I went from inside the cab and out with a coat hanger it appeared to come out of the same location. Hardest part was getting into the wiring harness to locate the splicing wires. Other than that super straight forward. Thank you again!!
Is Los from Reddit.. love that color. I’m curious to know if this was a new kit or one from the previous trucks? The reason I ask, on FB groups and Reddit peps are saying their kit does not come with the dip switches and Port for the knob. So I wonder if it’s just them not knowing where it is and how to locate the bass knob port ..
Hey Los! Thanks for the compliment on the truck. This was a brand new kit direct from GM parts. If those other people can't find the port and switches, they're not looking in the right places 😁
So the amps without the switches and bass knob port are actually the Covid era amps when there was a chip shortage. Kicker switched back in 2023 to the old style. So anything after 2021 and before 2023 does not have the amp switches or bass knob port 👍🏼 I called kicker to verify this info
@@phil_hazzy Is there an opportunity to locate a subwoofer where the factory Bose one is placed? Without the factory Bose, is the wiring harness still in place with the center console?
Kicker did have a system that also added another amp for the rest of the speakers. That was a great system. Since they don't offer that one anymore I did add an Alpine amp for the other speakers and it sounds awesome now! The 200 Watts is plenty dedicated to the subwoofer. If you were close, I'd invite you over to take a listen!
If you have separates (a individual amp for low mid and highs) then great but if not you'll over power the factory setup and hear sub drowning you out. For the factory setup its a good match and plenty at least in the factory Bose setup..Bigger amp maybe for larger sub/lower response may give you more rumble as your human ear can only hear so low on the frequency scale but then your into the "where am I gonna fit this thing at"..Its a nice setup for a factory install and really sounds surprisingly deep. I used to do all the crazy shit $$$ now my hearing is going along with it all being old tech now..lol
I came across this video because i removed my kicker system out of my 2022 silverado custom to put in my 2024 lt model. I have the system you are talking about with amp for door speakers. Part# 19417165. You've made videos installing it. I'm wondering if anyone can verify if it will work. I reached out to stillwater designs and they can't say. I've looked under the kick panel and located same color wire but dont want to tear apart new truck for no reason. Can anyone else help me out here? Only difference as far as inkniw would be the big screen on infotainment system. Any help would be much appreciated
Hey thanks for the reply. I’ve been seriously considering this for my 2024 Sierra 3500 dually. I’m not 100% sure if I want the knob. Had a knob setup on my old car but I can’t for the life of me figure out where I’d place the dam thing. I thought about the spot you have yours in the video but that feels too much to reach it. I definitely want to avoid any direct drilling in any visible spots. Could always glue but where to run the wire if not exactly where yours is?
@clydecash5659 pretty much anywhere you put it that's out of sight will be a bit of a reach but there's a couple of places that I like. Where I put this one is my favorite but there's a spot by the hood release that works too. Wiring can just stay behind the driver kick panel if you don't want to run under the carpet. I've also seen the knob placed below the HVAC controls. I'm not a fan of that placement because I like the clean look. Either way, it's up to you! Hit me up if you have questions!

I have the Bose. On a 2024 rst. On Chevy it’s saying this won’t fit mine.

@@1371ddcantu no. These are all my personal vehicles. None had the Bose. From what I understand, installation is nearly identical.
Does the amp light turn green when it powers on? My system is not powering on for some reason.

Comes with a capacitor I assume?
It's fused but if there is a capacitor, it's internal to the electronics. That and it's only 200W.
