Again, nicely done! This one is a walk down memory lane. Under the tutelage of a very old man, I began tying as a very young lad. Growing up in a remote area of northern Wisconsin in the 1960's, materials and information were hard to come by. I watched a Fall hatch and could not get my head around the tiny, mosquito-size, insects they were rising to. I tied a very crude version of this, with kip tail for tailing and wings, on the smallest hook I could find, probably a 16 or 18, and wore those flies out. Those days were the beginning of this, most enjoyable, addiction. Those native Brookies, with full Fall color, remain a memory I wish now I could share with another generation. Neither the fish nor the fishermen are as they were, unfortunately.
Hi K, thanks. And thank you for that lovely story, thats what its all about. I will become a grandad in the new year to a little grandson and can't wait to share our addition with.
@@Thefeatherbender I recently bought Gordon Griffit's 14/0 thread as discussed last time and I am pleasantly surprised, For very delicate flies I also use the Vevuus, the Sheer will also be my go to. I'm currently trying my luck with a No. 20 Togen hook, ......to be continued :)
Another magic tie and a museum piece. Thanks once again from NZ.
Thank John.
