Fascinating pattern and the complexities of this type of pattern explained. I'm going to have a go at this one. The tail splitting technique is fascinating and very effective.
Thanks Lindsay, you can use the same technique on double tails as well, just place both the threads in-between the two tails instead of splitting three.
I watch as many of your videos as I can. I've been at this almost a year now, and I have watched you videos since beginning tyeing. Great for every level person. I've leaned alot from your videos. Thank you for what you do.
Barry, so much changed for me today after watching this. Your thread trick for the three tail fibbets is something I have never seen before and I love it! I have fought for years to the point I never do them anymore, but now! I could kiss you in a manly fashion! It would be uncomfortable because I haven't shaved for a few days! 😂 Barry some great tyers make things look easy, because they have done something so long it seems easy but it is not. You my good sir, not only make things look easy but you show us why it is easy and I respect the heck out of you for that. Were you or are you a Teacher? If not you would have been a good one. Thank you Barry I was sitting here with a big goofy smile on my face after the tail exercise, you made my day!
Thanks Kerry, even a rough manly kiss would be welcome in these days of isolation... You can use the same technique on double tails as well, just place both the threads in-between the two tails instead of splitting three.
Hei, Barry! Your skills are outstanding indeed. Very useful video! I like these tails. By the way, may I ask, what flies would you tie on Mustad 3366-BR Sproat Hook #12?
Thanks SB, The Mustad 3366 is a All round fishing hook but in larger sizes is a popular hook in the US for Bass patterns. In a size 12 i think they would work for most wet fly patterns.
Another nice fly , I'm a novice tier been trying fly's about 5 years now, was wondering if there was a number I could call to oder your book , or address I could send away for it, this is one of my favorite fly's to ty , thanx again keep um coming.
