    Awesome concept but it's like taking off in 5th gear and feathering the clutch. Assuming 7,000 rpm from that little engine and that wheel is 6" in diameter, top speed would be roughly 28 mph if there was enough torque to get it rolling faster. Take that reduction from 4.5:1 down to 9:1 and it should rip.

    • @crazzywolfie
      @crazzywolfie ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i doubt it would get much fast than 20km/h. it will likely burn up the clutch pretty quick as is. this thing is almost comparable to one of them pocket bikes. under the right circumstances you can get them up to decent speeds but even with how they are geared they don't really have a ton of torque which translates to them running best down hill. uphill they are sluggish.

    • @iamdestructoman
      @iamdestructoman ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@crazzywolfie it is still way over geared and needs much more reduction. the engine never got to its power band. and recall torque can be gained through high rpm with reduction. power is a function of torque and rpm.

    • @puckcat22679
      @puckcat22679 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@iamdestructoman especially with a 2-stroke engine like that. That thing makes no power below like 5,000+ RPM. The torque curve isn't so much a curve on those as it is a flat line with a sudden spike. That engine is meant to run wide open all the time.

    • @normanguzman417
      @normanguzman417 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree 100%. The reduction drive ratio is keeping the engine from reaching it's power band.

    • @darkraft100
      @darkraft100 ปีที่แล้ว

      The engine is too weak, a stock motorized bike which has 1.4 real hp (the 66/80cc ones, 3.5 "advertised") it goes 30+easily, I pulled my brother on his bike with my motorized bike and 30mph was doable
      The engine used in the video has 900w real power, not even near 2.9kw

      At one of my first jobs I drove one in a warehouse for spirits. You took a packing list, got a pallet and ran around the warehouse picking up boxes of wine, beer, hard liquor, champagne. You name it, we had it. well over a thousand varieties and an order could be anything from half a pallet to ten pallets or more.
      Anyway when you have twenty guys zooming around with pallets stacked high with liquor accidents do happen. And whenever you heard glass breaking people homed in on the accident to take advantage of the mess and get some nice sliding in before the cleaning crew got there. Punch was the best. It has enough sugar in it to get just sticky enough to coat the wheels, almost like driving though a patch of grease...
      And these were using old style lead acid batteries. At the end of the day you connected a line that topped up all the batteries with deionized water. So definitely not sealed batteries. Sealed and gel batteries is a pretty new development. If you go back much more than 20 years any lead acid battery you encountered were likely to be the old style with liquid acid and open cells.

    It needs cvt transmission with massive reduction initially. They are easy to come by, Chinese 50cc scooters and Chinese 50cc ATV/quads. Primary side just slides on a bronze bushing. Ditch the stock centrifugal clutch, there is a centrifugal clutch already on the secondary side cvt. With a cvt you'll get 12-16mm primary side initially, tuning the weights on the primary side should help pickup from standstill. Finding a secondary side cvt with correct diameter should be easy, I think it's very close with the most common cheap ones for 50cc quads although those machines have additional reduction in gearbox and chain/sprockets. I think you'll need another reduction before the cvt, should be easy enough using the same principles as demonstrated, belt and lathe turned acetal/POM pulley. With cvt it will go 1:1 at full speed so it will cancel out the last reduction.

    To go faster, the pulley on the engine needs to be larger and the pulley on the drive axle needs to be smaller. Fun looking proof of concept, though!
    Чтобы двигаться быстрее, шкив на двигателе должен быть больше, а шкив на ведущей оси - меньше. Забавно выглядящее доказательство концепции, однако!

    You do know that powered pallet jacks are already a thing right? Some of the heavier ride behinds have three or four times the power of that little 50cc engine.

      They do make them "all terrain" they are called. I've put gulf cart front hubs on the steering end jack it up high and cut a tube over the jack to keep it up add a sub frame use some trailer axles and huge for gulf cart wheels they sell the hubs a NORTHENTOOL but I cut the front end off old gulf carts. I've have a few I use they roll nice in the grassie areas

    My workplace: You better not ride on that pallet jack like a scooter or we'll fire you for working unsafely.
    Their workplace: Strap an engine to the pallet jack, and the boss takes turns with everybody riding it in a crowded garage..

    previous job we had an electric pallet jack i used to sit on it and drive around. But on polished concrete freshly cleaned and a 1,5T full pallet of beer... i tried to take a corner and ended up being sandwiched between the wall and the jack. Left foot was crushed...

    Even Russians know damned well that almost every person who has ever worked in a warehouse has, at 1 time or another, engaged in a good old fashioned pallet jack race!
