I bought an insurance write off Range Rover L320 and attempt to fix the multiple issues! Today I managed to fix the split rear tail gate boot - trunk switch !

My local Indie Landrover specialist tells me the hatch Switch failure is a very common problem on these cars caused by water ingress - and this switch is always the first thing to check when you suffer battery drain.
Is there a fuse or relay to check for the upper window latch?
That was a very good result, I find replacing this electromechanical parts is the only way of effecting a satisfactory and last repair, no doubt this is a German made part, I have found that all of the failed parts like this one on my L322 have "made in Germany" written on them, that does not instil much confidence in the product, but not you have given it a good sealing it should be good, I suppose Scotland is a good place to test anything for water ingress! I would check the wiring loom and little plug, to make sure you have good connections to the switch, to test your switch is okay, you could bridge the little plug with a wire, if it opens then your switch is faulty. Check the other end of the wire to see if there are a connection between trunk and body.
