About to make this guy, good thinking placing it behind the BL touch. I was looking for a design that allows you to easily swap between cutting and 3D printing and this does it
Great design, I have printed this and plan to use it, I wonder if it would be worth it to raise the vinyl cutter part in order to not have to modify the z offset when switching between attachments.
P.S. what is the random third piece for in that main print? You don't seem to use it in your video and I feel like you should update the file to remove the two wasted pieces or include them as seperate files with details in the readme, to prevent people printing excess clutter / waste :) ( one piece you bin in the video and one you don't even show in the video other than while its being printed )
His bed wasnt leveled correctly so cutter lost some contact, i will put some rubber on the printing bed.. Accuracy should be as good as the 3d prints.. Look at the plane cutout he made, looks preety good to me
did you heat up the hotend while cutting i actually have and old printer (anet A8) which i wanna try this with but i can't get past the hot end part as i disconected the hotend and bed but the cutting won't start because it wants to heat up the hotend and bed.
@@juliom6260 nope, i wana try fusion 360 instead, someone made an addon that let's u draw the outline of an svg file, u can mount ur knife on ur 3d printer to vinyl cut instead. I haven't tried it tho
Could you post your Cura profile settings for cutting?

Solid idea, I'm thinking about making a similar conversion, thanks for posting your process
Definitely need to try this for cutting thin styrene. It just has to score .04" sheet, I think it would be perfect.
i converted ussing cnc 3018. u can try repositionablle spray to hold the vinyl if u got problem on the surface
Works with magnet sheet? Too much stress on the alignment?

Interesting conversion 👍
You set the blade way to deep. You will go threw blades very fast. If you set the blade right, you will never cut threw the backing.
hi man, I see the initial circle you cut wasnt exactly round, How accurate is this way of cutting?

You can edit the G code to run without heating up the hot end and bed in the slicer software
What are the cura settings? Could you post the profile?

amzing stuff boi
Is there alot of resistance in cutting? I am concerned about damaging the motors.
Not really, as long as the bed is level and the height is all good, not much more resistance compared to regular printing
Very Inspirational
Nice video! Little tip: talk louder when you record your voice. It'll sound better ; ).
How are you getting ads on your channel with so less subs?
that's surprising, i got 900 sub but no adds ☹😕
