This is a true story. There's a Russian who owns a small restaurant in France and she has Poutine in her menu. After Putin SMO took place, there's a French journalist who reports a Russian immigrant trying to promote Putin in France. She had to spend a lot of time to explain to locals Poutine is a Quebec French Canadian dish :) I am Vietnamese living in Quebec.
Thank you. Always good stuff. Looks like a nice little place. Can't wait till I get there in October. I've stopped watching vloggers who have been in VN for years and can't speak any Vietnamese. ...Nap Time... :)
This was one of your best videos!!! You xhould bring your gf there and try that.......Your really coming around again!!!!!! Yeah putine is canadian.....such a cool idea mama zoom made
They take the name Photine from Poutine , a special dish from Québec - Canada with French fries , melted cheese and meat sauce . It's a very fatty and heavy food .
Nice Tyler, Thank you for this recommendation, ya enjoyed it very much, the photine, is hearty looking, I do like solid fries on occasion, all ya missing is some ketchup 😅 😂, have a blessed day, take it easy Bentley..🤚✌️✌️
That lady might used to live in Montréal ( Province of Québec - Canada ) before going back to VN and brought with her the Poutine recipe to create that new dish merging the Vietnamese Pho with the Poutine montréalaise .
Tyler, your translation of Mama Dung explanation of the inspiration for Photine is in the ballpark but just kind a far out in the left field 😂 Will definitely go when I am there in October
Hey Tyler, I ate there about once a week last time I was there. Mostly I thought the service was good and it tasted fresh and was clean. I was not impressed by the flavor at all though. Oddly enough the best Vietnamese food i have ever had is at a place here in Tacoma Washington. 🤷🏻♂️
I’m really not a fan of poutine but it’s very inventive. Very nice video of this unique place.❤ The color of your video shifted a lot because of the sun going in and out. I believe you can put it on auto so this doesn’t happened too much.
yeah maybe I could have changed a camera setting to fix the sun issue...the video seemed a bit better when it was more cloudy out...that said, thank you Sun for your photosynthesis role and vitamin D offerings (shout out to the Sun)
😊Your vietnamese is very good!!! and I'll travel to Vietnam in January 2025!!! So excited and I will definitely try this place out!!! Though it's kinda far from where I'll be staying at. My auntie house is in quan Tan Binh p 7🙂however I'll have to make a trip down to this pho place!!!Thank u for all ur awesome vidoes and Greetings from Northern California
@@user-iw8zx3mp4m cheers from Vietnam to California. Yeah the neighborhood this pho restaurant is in also has lots of good bars if you want to make a night out of it
I think Pho Tine is a hybrid version of the French dish Poutine, which is fries with melted cheese on top and covered in brown gravy. Apologies, I meant French Canadian.
that photine, strange , definately need a neutral binder to combine and pho with the fries. Reminds me of the In-N -Out Monster fries, this with the beef slice
I've been to every single Pho recommended by Michilen Guide in HCMC. Sadly most them are not up to par, at least not to my taste buds. There are only 3 exceptions from Michilen; Pho Chao, Pho Vietnam, & Pho Le. However, my fav Pho is "Pho Mong" in D4 (not in Michelin). Lastly, and this will piss off many locals, pho in OC (USA) blows away all the pho in VN,; better ingredients & beef, but it costs 10x more.
Pho tine is not Vietnamese pho . Something weird when you have fried potatoes and cheeses soaking wet with stir fry stuff . Like you eat I wouldn’t it .
Easy to get Michelin recognized when the face of the restaurant is mates with someone at the guide. Not saying they don't have great food. Also I've had terrible service. Ordered 9 times in the last 6 weeks, and I won't be ordering again as the last 3 times I haven't received my full order, even after sending them a reminder to check the order carefully 😅 Also empty restaurant speaks volumes 😅
Don’t let the pace fool you. I’ve been there several times with my Vietnamese companion. We go there every time we are near Binh Thanh. I would say it’s probably one of the best in Vietnam. In fact we went to my favorite pho place back in the west that I really like when she came to visit me and according to my companion, it does not compare to Chao.
Sorry dude Photine looks so unappetizing, why didn't they just call it something like "Mushy fries" instead of adding "pho" to its name. There is no Pho characteristic to it at all!! Thank god no one else makes it.
Wow tô phở ngon hấp dẫn quá.. chúc bạn nhiều sức khỏe luôn luôn vui vẻ nha
I love that place. It was recommended my Geo in the Philippines when he was in Vietnam. She is such a sweet lady. Take care.
The presentation of the bowls and the table setting is also better.
I'm taking notes bro, I am going there to eat very soon ! thank you for sharing !
My first meal in Vietnam. Very dank.
When they asked you if you wanted phở tái lăn it’s when the beef is stir fried before it’s added to the soup instead of the normal raw beef
Momma Dung is awesome! I d be going there everyday. The pho looked outstanding .
Brother love this video more cause I went to the same restaurant as you did, how absolutely incredible is that, I had the same dish as you too..

@@GraceKim-xt3qj thank you!
Ok I definitely need to try that photine if I ever make it back over there

Poutine looks very good. I will have to try it. And enjoy your coffee☕️
Traditional and fusion. I love it. I'm looking forward to more of your videos. Shout out to @davidkhai too!
Photine probably an inspiration from poutine from Montréal French Canada. Interesting concept 🤔

La Poutine est Québecoise
Love your videos. Super chill vibe. You make vietnam seem really approachable for westerners.
awesome really appreciate that
Btw, try substituting “nhìn ngon” with “thâ’y ngon”. Cuz nhìn means to look at, while thâ’y means to seem/look like.
Great Flog!

Poutine is supposed to be made with cheese curds BTW, not just "cheese/sauce"

french fry pho 😂. that’s the first.
Michelin for two years ! And no one , no Vietnamese eating there but only you 😊
What's your dank rate!
8.7 for the pho and 9.3 for the photine if I remember correctly
I found some Vietnamese food cuisine tasty than South Korean cuisine
Why? Some food they mixed with French cuisine then they cooked

For me the regular Pho wins hands down every time I hate when the cuisine of any country is bastardized to suit people from overseas !
