  • In this vlog discover with me two islands in the middle of the Nile in Aswan in Egypt
We will go first to Philae Island, discover the temple of Isis and the other monuments around it.
Then we will stop at Elephantine Island to explore the streets of 2 Nubian villages.
    The temple of Philae
I advise you to visit the temple of Isis on the island of Philae.
Go there as soon as it opens because it quickly gets packed with people.
The island is located a little further down the city
Entrance is 450LE (€13.50) and you will also have to pay for the boat crossing which is not included
I negotiated with another tourist at 150LE (€4.50) each for a round trip with 1 hour of waiting there
The crossing takes about 5 minutes
Once you arrive there, I advise you to go inside the temple of Isis immediately before it is stormed by tourists
For the little history of this place: Legend has it that King Osiris was killed by his brother who scattered his body throughout the country
His wife, Isis, having recovered all the ends, would have taken refuge on this island, in order to bring them together.
You should know that during the construction of the dam, this temple was moved here in 1979 because it was at the time on a neighboring island.
Some consider it to be the most beautiful and best preserved temple in the country.
And indeed the place is superb, the visit could have even been perfect if there had not been so many tourists and if the boat gave us a little more time on the spot because 1 hour is really too much short
    Elephantine Island
The boat is taken from the corniche (the walk along the Nile) in Aswan
The pier is roughly level with the middle of the island, on the town shore
There are crossings around every quarter of an hour. (from 6 a.m.)
It lasts 4 minutes and costs 10LE (0.30€)
The island is made up of 2 Nubian villages: Siou and Kotti
Arrival on the island is via the village Siou which is in the center and I advise you to go directly to the right towards the village Kotti
It’s actually my favorite of the two.
In both villages, don't hesitate to sneak into any little street, some facades or doors are painted in bright colors
There are beautiful views of the Nile everywhere with motorboats and feluccas (sailing boats) circling around.
You can also climb to the top of the mountain at the end of the island on the Kotti village side towards the pyramid (Pyramid of Elefantine) apparently there is a very beautiful view, I missed it because I didn't know and especially I didn't see the indication
I went there at 7 a.m., I stayed there for 3 hours and it was very quiet throughout my visit.
It is one of the rare places not invaded by tourists here in Aswan.
The locals are very welcoming and smiling
    Visit to make!

Les ruelles colorées sont vraiment sympas, on se croirait dans un labyrinthe. Vivement la suivante 🌞🌞🌞
