- This video is not mine but because it's nowhere available either online or on DVD I thought I would share this with you.
It's a great and inspiring documentary of Chris Potter and his band.
Chris Potter - saxophone, bass clarinet
Adam Rogers - guitar
Craig Taborn - fender rhodes
Nate Smith - drums
So great. So, so great!!!!!
Finally it's back on the web!:)
Taborn's single note multiple articulation is beastly.
Really nice video. Thanks for producing it and making it available here on TH-cam. Awesome!
According to Nate Smith, Underground is recording new material in December! I imagine these tunes will end up in those sessions.
yes great thanks for sharing!
Great band. Everyone contributes a tune or two, in a relaxed rehearsal...walking thru the tunes, and local bar in NY to try it out in front of a live audience.
Wow! Thanks for this! I also checked Out Mums Mabley at Geneva Conference!!
I've seen them live in the Netherlands but with Fima Ephron on the bass instead of Craig Taborn on the Fender Rhodes.
They are amazing! Nate Smith is soo groovy!
Awesome this style is worth learning!
18:19 is that a Monk quote? (Bemsha Swing)
Fantastic.
THanks for sharing.
Ilove this man !
thanks for this!
Loving it ... Jeeze
07:22 I love Craig's grooving motion
"2 drink minimum per set" OMG, that place actually encourage people to listen to one of the most finest jazz artists and get drunk at the same time. I just found the place where I'm going after death.
Is there somewhere I could find the full, uninterrupted recordings of all of these songs? I am particularly interested in that take of Train... Thanks!
No dislikes...GOOD!
are they actually sight reading this stuff in that room? thats some great sight reading
I've tried looking for it as well but couldn't find it. So if anyone else have found it, let us know!
I can't seem to find the song "Tweet" on any album, was it ever released?
+Martin Erstrand I think is no recorded in any Chris Potter`s album
how does he do that upper-register growl around 11:48? John Coltrane does it on A Love Supreme, too. Anyone?
I actually found out how to do it myself! I used to growl really loud in my sax. I just have to growl more softly and it sounds pretty decent int the upper register
What's the name of the song at the very beginning?
Whats the name of the first song?
Where did you get this?
you mean hell is dark and burning?
:-)
OK--I've heard enough--Please pick up your Grammy in the lobby.
Does anyone know what that opening tune is?
Should be a version of Pop Tune #1. It's always different tho ;)
this band is SUPERIOR
