Whether he is playing the tenor, soprano, or alto sax, his virtuosic command of the instrument is awe-inspiring. His flawless technique allows him to execute intricate and complex lines with ease, dazzling listeners with his lightning-fast runs and breathtaking improvisations.

His playing is characterized by a deep emotional connection to the music, making every note he plays resonate with intense feeling. Whether he is exploring delicate ballads or fiery up-tempo compositions, he infuses his playing with an expressive and passionate energy that captivates and moves audiences.
What truly sets Potter apart, however, is his fearless exploration of musical boundaries. He constantly pushes the boundaries of traditional jazz, incorporating elements of rock, funk, and world music into his playing. He effortlessly blends these genres together, creating a unique and captivating sonic palette that defies categorization. His ability to seamlessly transition between different styles and genres is a testament to his versatility as a musician.
Potter is also known for his adventurous approach to improvisation. He fearlessly explores new harmonic and melodic territories, constantly pushing the envelope and taking risks in his solos. His improvisations are filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats and creating a sense of anticipation and excitement. He effortlessly weaves complex harmonic ideas into his solos, creating a tapestry of sound that is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally engaging.
Furthermore, Potter's compositions showcase his exceptional creativity and craftsmanship as a composer. His compositions often feature intricate and complex melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, demonstrating his deep understanding of musical structure. He is not afraid to experiment with unconventional forms and structures, crafting compositions that are both challenging and rewarding for both the performers and the listeners.

This is criminally underrated fusion here.... Most original electric style group I've heard in a while, TBH
Its literally called "underground"
A terrific group-led by one of the finest saxophone players playing today. Chris is a really likeable guy and deserves all the accolades.
I would give anything to be able to make music like this on a regular basis. Hats off to you Chris Potter, you are living the dream of many. Hope you are well in these trying times.
Any one who made it to this video .Knows talent and the best jazz musicians around.🎶🎵🎶
Nate Smith is absurdly good.

thanks for uploading this! one of my favorite bands ever - Ultrahang was such a great album
Just watching this for the first time. Awesome, as always. Interesting that Queen Elizabeth just died and the set features Duke
Ellington's (and Billy Strayhorn) "Single Petal of a Rose" which is part of Duke's "The Queen's Suite". He composed it after meeting the
Queen and had Columbia records produce a single gold pressing and sent it to Buckingham Palace as a unique gift for Her alone.
An amazing story..... We can hear the suite now. It was finally released after Duke's death...I believe in 1976.
What a quartet!!!
Next level...

Wondering where could i find the whole track list...
This is the whole set.
Viva las Vilnius is in 7/4 right?
It actually changes. Chris’ and Adam’s solos are in 7/4, part of the melody is also in 7/4, but there’s also some 4/4 and 6/4 in there too.
They forgot to list Lefty as the Bass player.
Adam Rogers he is a great player. Extremely terrible teacher if you have any way of comparing with other real good teachers. Now days they are top notch teachers on the internet. Not even half as good as him but you don't need a master players you need a really good player with a master communication skills of teaching. Just another thing he is not a very nice person either, just that you know. I don't know what's your metric to establish if someone is nice or not? But I do. He 100 percent horrible guy.
is that so? can you explain why?
Man you seem to feel the need to go around telling people what a terrible teacher you think Adam is. I've seen you on other videos. Is it possible your just we'rnt ready for the material he gave you or you were looking for something else? leave the man alone. no hard feelings but sheesh....
galant cadence I can’t speak about Adam Rogers but Arturo Sandoval is a grade A asshole. Just ask a professor in any jazz department at any US school.
Guy777335259 oh it's no question when it comes to Arturo UNLESS he really likes you.
@@samjavitch Agreed. And 'Mr Cadence" has indeed pasted this same text on those other videos. Advice to "GC": mate, move on. Remove the comments and the bad vibes; you'll feel better, I promise you. Plenty of other sources for learning, if you and Adam didn't gel for some reason.
