I’ve found that if you turn your passion into a job/business you will lose the passion for it. Being forced to do something 8-12 hours a day isn’t fun. Work hard at something that makes you money or that you are good at. Invest the money and enjoy your passions unpaid.

Spent 12 years working for a major utility company. Jobs is boring so i bought a house and I'm doing 90% of the remodeling. I kind of know what I'm doing. Doing a project that's out of my comfort zone helped figure out a new direction. I've been stock investing for 10 years as a hobby. I decided that's my new direction. Looking to exit or part time work at the utility next year. I decided on trading vs other paths because my quality of life with be 50 fold. Big power works 24/7 and it has lost it's thunder. Big power was a good conduit for my next mission. I'm 41

    • @chikifree
      @chikifree 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@theItalianshamrock Personally, I would suggest looking into learning AWS. There are various aspects of AWS that one can learn on their own. AWS skills are really in demand. Also learning Azure can help. In general, cloud computing is hot right now. The more niche you can get, the better. Personally I work doing AWS Security. There are TONS of resources online to learn various things about these platforms. Maybe go online and check for job postins for remote work in regards to AWS and see what theyre looking for. Remember job postings are just wish lists. No one can meet every single requirement. Join groups that focus on the technologies. If you have 0 tech skills, it can be a bit of a learning curve but if you focus and learn it, it can pay off big time. After some years of working for a company, you can start doing consulting independently. Thats what I would like to achieve eventually. good luck

I am the dude from the request. I've been in the IT industry for 15 years. Worked as an IT tech, then IT Manager. Also ran a small one man IT consulting firm. Burned out. Decided to abandon IT and see what else I can find. My plan is not to get reach "in Vietnam" my plan is to use the cheap and easy life of being in Vietnam to get my skills and mindsets adjusted to be able to do that "something else". Hoping for some sort of an entrepreneurial venture. Yet nothing comes to mind. I will keep at it.
      P.S.
Funny enough, that j.o.b. mentioned in the video is a Remote IT tech position - covering after hour shifts, server maintenance. Pays penuts, but covers all my expenses here and gives me freedom and flexibility to study and work on my next thing.
Any and all input is appreciated

    Nothing specific.
For example get specific skill, let's say bricklayer.
Start working as bricklayer, build up experience, get good at it. Get referrals etc.
Once you have enough experience, you can gather your own crew and build your own business. And move forward from there.

Most people reading this comment won’t act on it, but that’s fine with me...
Earlier this week, I bought Mastery by Robert Greene. I’m only 60 pages in and so far it has brought tremendous clarity to me. It is a very active book in the sense that it makes you ask yourself questions about your life (no matter what stage you are at). I found reading this book and then coming across this video, both do a great job of bringing clarity. This book is very in-depth and cannot be read passively.
If you’re into active reading, by this book. If you want to read just for consumption, buy it, for you will never know when you’ll need it down the road. If you do not care about yourself enough, simply carry on and have a great day.
Edit: there is a preview of the book on Amazon, where you can read a couple of pages. Start there and see if it peaks your interest.

What I meant by it, is that while I teach you how to scale or grow or optimise your business using a simple system, I will learn from you "THE ENTREPRENEUR" how your mind works, how you structure your business, so on.
The way my Business Growth Coaching Business is structured I am still a freelancer more then an entrepreneur. I get paid for my coaching skill. Where my goal is to create a business that utilises systems that can function with or without me.

I will say that Toastmasters is completely different to BNI. Joining Toastmasters for networking is the wrong motive.
Toastmasters is a good place to practice and learn public speaking as well as leadership skills. Of course this is very dependent on the individuals in the particular club you go to. Sometimes you have to try a few. The system does work if you put in the work and are open to being outside your comfort zone.

@@theskulptor3987 right now I'm 30 got a YT channel that I started 2 years ago that's at 9k it's called Sean's World. I'm doing fine and things are only getting better! I would tell him pick something and go all in on it. Start making real money and start saving and investing his money. I may even say move back here, cause the western dollar is better, and what does he plan on doing in his later years....He's gotta hurry up!

@@insomatic420 I am "him". I was in IT for 15 years. IT tech -> IT Manager, also run a small one man IT consulting company. Burned out. Decided to leave IT and the West to see what else is out there. 5 years in so far. Doing ok. Learned lots, a lot of new experiences.
Although I "gave up" IT I still work in IT as remote tech, covering after hour shifts, working with servers, etc. I want something else.
I am not making money "IN Vietnam" I live here.
I want to build something today that I can be working on when I am 80, something that I will not need to retire from.
Money is not the main objective here. Purpose, fulfilment, living a good life.

@@theskulptor3987 First of all brother good job you moved to another country and ur doing fine, keep it up. I would say every month you should try something new out and really see if ur interested in it. Secondly keep working on that job on the IT stuff keep up the hustles and save and invest. Thirdly if money is good, just enjoy your life, enjoy the sun, enjoy the women, live and dont get so caught up on everything. What im saying is plant as many seeds as possible, and everything you try out reflect on it and see if you actually enjoy what ur doing. Bro ur are actually in a great position , you're good with money, dont have kids or family, and ur living in a great country. Take your time figure a few things out first then go all in, no doubt you will make it. I hope this helps and good luck brother i really mean it!

@@insomatic420 Thanks brother. That's exactly how I feel. It's just that sometimes doubt and fear creeps in and worry that I am not "as far as I'd like to be" or "not working on what I want to be working on". I don't like doubt. I want to find something that I can commit to 100% - leaving 0 room for doubt - and explode myself onto that thing.🤘
