I have this exact system in my bedroom and LOVE it. It's great sound for a very reasonable price. The ELACs, at least in my bedroom, put out an impressive amount of quality bass!
That's awesome! The WiiM amp and the Elac Debit 3.0 are the two best values in HIFI today IMHO and pairing them together like this for a badass bedroom system just makes so much sense! Glad that you are already ahead of me and have this combo in use, well done!
For my bedroom, I’m using a WiiM Ultra, into a Geshelli Labs J2 DAC, into a Black Ice Audio FX10, into a pair of popular kit speakers from Texas (which I refuse to promote). It is an incredibly revealing and beautiful sounding system. Thank you for this review, and sharing your system!!!
Can't comment of the speakers, but I LOVE your signal chain!!! That is an outstanding system for the bedroom! I am surprised how often hifi enthusiasts settle for just a BT speaker in the bedroom.
Good choices with one caveat and a suggested addition. The WiiM Amp Pro reportedly offers a significant improvement in fidelity over the prior WiiM Amp. While a sub may not be necessary, the WiiM's high/low pass filtration working in concert with a sub will add greater clarity in the midrange. For those interested in a sub, the Vanguard Caldera - 10" Active Subwoofer by Vera-Fi Audio is a good price match at $199.00 Vera-Fi also offers mass fillable speaker stands for $99.00 PS; the WiiM Amp Pro's room correction is reportedly most useful in identifying bass room nodes and then adjusting the EQ manually in the DSP app section.
Yes, for an additional $79 the WiiM Amp Pro upgrades the DAC chip to the ES9038 which is the top of the line ESS Saber DAC chip I believe. And yes, the WiiM Home App makes adding a sub really easy and also easy to get the bass "right"
To be honest I would suggest sticking with the WiiM amp and adding the SMSL SU-1 for DAC duty. Better sound than the WiiM pro and easy to upgrade down the road. And yes, get a decent sub, you will not regret it especially for movies
Great follow-up review on the Elac 3.0. Planning to get these and pair it with a NAD 316bee. Your thoughts made me think of the Wiim instead. Thanks for great review.
Based on my listening and comparisons, I think you are going to be really happy with these Elac Debut 3.0 speakers! I have not had the NAD 316 in house so I can't comment on that but as long as you spend a little time evaluating what the SPL levels in dBs that you ACTUALLY listen at...then the WiiM amp is going to be a really good option.
Another well done informative presentation-thank you. I’m considering a WIIM or possibly Cambridge integrated. I use Apple Music primarily and will be supplementing with a sub. Any suggestions?
Thank you! For subwoofers I'd look at the SVS Micro 3000 and the Martin Logan Dynamo 800X both are $899 and both have excellent software to take a lot of the headache out of properly setting up a subwoofer so the bass truly sounds good. I like products from Cambridge and I think they're a great brand. But I think it's really tough to beat the value proposition of the WiiM amp!
I have the Wiim Amp powering Kef q150's now. Considering upgrading to Kef q350 for $500 or Elac 3.0 for $450. I love the Kef sound. Which would you suggest?
I think you are going to be very happy with the Elac Debut 3.0 in your living room! They punch so far above their price point! Let me know what you think after you get them set up at home.
I haven't had the Marantz M1 in for review so I can't say for sure. But the WiiM has provides excellent punch and control over the Elac's 6.5" mid/bass driver up until the SPL volume level tops out. For me, the much better streamer in the WiiM and better app and cost savings would have me choosing the WiiM amp. but YMMV
No. My primary listening room is in the living room. But I spend more of my day in the dining room/kitchen area which is 15' x 30' and I always have music on throughout the day in here. And I am moving throughout the space and spend a lot of time on my laptop at the kitchen table. So this is very different than just sitting down in a listening position at the point of a triangle. It presents different challenges. And I gather listening info from both listening rooms as I evaluate. (and yes, my gear gets moved from room to room a lot with the exception of the KEFs stay in the dining room and the Sonus Fabers stay in the living room.) Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting!
Th RP600M II have that Klipsch and that horn sound that is very open. If a group of hifi enthusiasts when to an ice cream shop... we wouldn't all buy the same flavor of ice cream. And so it is also true we each have our own sound preferences. And choosing the Klipsch sound is 100% valid. For me, I prefer the bass richness and fullness of the Elac Debut 3.0
Thank you Sir! I thoroughly enjoy your reviews and your knowledge base!

Great match!
Thanks. I think this combo is one of the great values currently in HIFI.

Thoughts on the Marantz A1?

I have not heard that so I can't help, sorry.

Waiting on my Elac Debut 3.0 (db63’s). Hope they aren’t only good for in the bedroom? (Hope to make them my main fronts in my living room)

Does this WiiM give a good kick and punch to those woofers or is the Model M1 better?

the klipsch sounds bigger in my opinion

@@Hunter-Gray-LUV-Music but klipsch also sounds full and rich as well depends on that amp you use
