Design wise it would go very well with the marants m1 ( hoping i got the model right ) . Anyone on the same page ?

I bought a pair just before Christmas. I am one of the few that actually like the dark walnut finish of the speakers. I keep the screens on the speakers but for those who keep them off, that ceramic brass pops. I can’t imagine getting the same look with light finished speakers.The speakers are very heavy and were a little of a hassle getting them out of the box by myself. It’s not just the weight but also being careful not to damage them. To be honest though, I was initially disappointed with the sound of the speakers. They sounded flat and not very dynamic. It took a few days of listening before the speakers opened up. I thought the break in period was just a myth but I actually experienced it. I added more RP line of speakers for surround and sub. These definitely improved the sound over my previous Bose system. The only drawback for the Klipsch vs the Bose is that I definitely have more dusting now. Lol

Super interesting video. Thanks for sharing. I am looking to dip my toe into the world of tubes. I’d heard good things about this amp. I also noted that you had reviewed the REISONG A50 MKIII 300B. If you were looking to get into tubes at around this price point which of these would you opt for. I’m based in the US and would be streaming with Wii Ultra and running a pair of JBL l55 Lancer loudspeakers. Thanks in advance.

Another automotive to amp analog: horsepower and torque are wasted if the power doesn't get to the ground. I've heard a few amps that brag of power, but don't deliver. (Various classes)

Dear Hunter-Gray. In your opinion, how would the FX10H match up/ work with the new ELAC 3.0's that you reviewed? - BTW, I do not listen to much beyond 80DB and my room is about 13' x 13'.

I discovered your channel because of my nostalgia that i have theese days for the "grand father " of this spekeers that i owned few yers ago, the Klipsch RP 800 F (those models were followed by their "son" RP 8000 F, an now is the time of the "nephew" RP 8000 F ii). Because of their size and boxiness, i sold them and bought Spendor A7 spekears instead, then i replaced the spendors by Fyne Audio 501 SP. Both Spndors & Fyne Audio were at last double the price. I am still missing the reproduction of strings and percutions from those klipches, far more realistic and crisp than both my Spendors and Fyne Audio. Fair to say thought that after some time, RP 800 F could led to some listening fatigue. They were fantastic speakers. LE: i drove all the 3 speakers with Yamaha AS1200 integrated amplifier, and i also looked for ZU DW6 as an option, but din not had any dealer in my country

I appreciate the insight after three years of ownership. I also enjoyed the metaphors; having watched several speaker reviews the run-of-the-mill descriptive terms become tiresome. Knowing the difference between both track cars and hot hatches, and Focal and Klipsch, I can appreciate the comparisons. Thanks for the video.

i hate with passion the sound produced by these speakers with wiim amp.... i will try to drive them with denon 1700h but i lost my money on wiim...

Just ordered the BI FX10H yesterday, and really looking forward to it. Just want to say that I'm not sure where you were going with your assessment of the updates that each company releases. I'm a SW Engineer, and I have to say that, without knowing what those releases are for, there's no way to make comparisons based on the number of releases. Are they major releases? minor? bug fixes? or just feature enhancement releases? If they are bug fixes, then yeah, that's an issue worth looking into. Otherwise, nope. I do enjoy your vids though... keep it up!

Well Hunter-Gray, you've piqued my interest in the Black Ice FX10H. I currently have a Denon X3700H AVR. I'm also in the middle of auditioning the KEF LS50 Metas and the Elac Debut 3 DB63s (The Kefs are in the lead at the moment). I am new to tube amps and kinda' confused as to how to use them. My confusion is, would I connect the Black Ice to my Denon X3700H front speaker pre outs or does the Black Ice need to stand alone with a separate pre amp? If I were to connect to the X3700H, does that mean that the connected tube amp overrides the AVRs amplifiers for the front speakers? Or do they work in tandem? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

IMO, these days, with trickle-down technology and manufacturing processes, a person can put together a very nice, as in VERY NICE, stereo system for $2K and below, which will rival much more expensive systems, particularly if one has poor room acoustics/ improper speaker placement/ or does not have perfect hearing, and I'm guessing that 80% of buyers out there have at least one of these issues?!?.

I've had my 8000f II's for ~4 months now. Granted, I run them with an Onkyo RZ70 which is tone neutral. The Klipsch out of the box were flat and a little muddy. I added both treble and bass to them and they sounded better but still too muddy for my taste. I ended up crossing them over at 50hz, my atmos at 180hz, my rear surround at 60hz and my center at 60hz. I have two subs so everything else goes to the subs. Let me tell you, that old rule of thumb of running everything at 80hz .... that's just muddy sounding. Breaking the speakers up, letting them shine on their own is the ticket! The 8000F II's (and the entire RP II series) are truly one of the best bangs for the buck a person can get. Aesthetically, yeah ... these are not attractive. I hate the orange so I keep the grills on and problem solved.

I just got mine and now it's messed up smh 😔😭 all I did was plug in inexpensive earbuds to hear at low to moderate listening levels of the internal DAC and it went to a standby mode with a PRT countdown timer that won't leave no matter what I do. 😢

I have had this base speaker since July,2024. I use them as monitors for my Moog Synthesizer & CD listening. I like the idea of having the full range speaker that is near ear level & have found the bass response adequate. They are powered by an AudioLab 6000A. Since my room is only about 10x10 they sit on each side of the Moog keyboard & only 6in from the wall. There is something magical about 10-inch drivers, & that is apparent in guitar speaker cabinets as well. Over the years I have experienced 12in 3-way, 10in 2-way, 6in 2-way mini tower speakers, 5/14 two way with sub, 4in powered 2-way with sub. For my purposes they are a good fit.

I prefer vintage sound from vintage speakers myself .... at little cost ... most enjoyable ✅️

excellent review and wonderful appreciation of acoustic music! chamber music: string quartets, piano soloist (in classical music) or a trio would be NON amplified; also early music ensembles (viola de gamba, harpsichord, recorders, singers) ...but you're absolutely right. more and more rare nowadays... a real pity! music is so ridiculously loud nowadays...

This Jolida/Black Ice tube amplifier has been around for a long time This year Black Ice started taking all the Chinese parts and assembling them in the USA which is nice and hopefully it is paying off in build quality I would have started with the Black Ice amplifier but I did not know about it when I got into tubes Since I now have a few tube amplifiers there is zero interest for me in Black Ice There are some great tube amplifiers being built by fantastic people here in the USA and Europe that make much more sense if you can afford it. I agree with the notion of getting on the Decware list and waiting 3 plus years to get your Decware amplifier. If I am still alive I should have one in a couple plus years.

I rock with your channel. Are you aware of Upscale Audios 1/2 price on Cabasse speakers? Picked up a pair today of the Antigua MC170 a 3 way concentric. At $398 I bet they sound better than those Elac DB63 that I also considered. Coming from Bro 3 and Kef q150's...these Cabasse are incredible. Does anyone have an opinion about this ranking?

I am almost ready to pull the trigger on the Zu DW6. My hold up at this point is to find a power source, separates or integrated, that will make the Zu DW6 sound great without breaking the bank, which means for amp+preamp I am looking at probably trying to keep things at less than $1k. So, I am looking for suggestions from you and your listeners. Background: I have been listening to a pair of Energy Pro-22's (28Hz to 45kHz) for almost 40 years now. They are neutral and musical and have a great range, but I am looking for a bigger more immersive soundstage. I have used Sony ES, Integra, Denon, and now an NAD receiver over the years, with the NAD 7125 that I got as a hand-me-down actually yielding the most satisfying sound. I listen to a lot of jazz (favoring 1950s-1960s), Americana, and rock and normally listen at lower to moderate volumes and about 60% on my listening is vinyl. Thanks in advance for any feedback or suggestions.

I've had my DW6 Silver/Black Starlight speakers for a year and a half and estimate around 8,500 hours so far. I'm retired and if not playing LPs or CDs, I'm streaming. I play classical, jazz, rock, pop, country, etcetera and they all sound great whether through my solid state or tube amps. I couldn't be happier with Zu Audio and I think they are a great value, at least with my DW6 model. One commenter goes on about GR Research which I find humorous. There isn't a speaker known to man that couldn't be done better or improved by that guy, and of course he sells his own stuff. I could not care less about his expert opinions.

Why would class d save money over class ab? If you don't insist on buying new, and for amps there is little reason to not buy used. My hk citation 22 gives 2*200 in 8ohm or 1*400 bridged. Bought it for 300€. No way I can find that power nor build quality in class d for that budget. Looking for another citation 22 at the moment.. going monoblock yay 😂
