The stock turbos on them polo GTI’s are the IS12’s the 38’s aren’t actually that much bigger on the outside, is just the wall thickness is thinner making the ID bigger, and the compressor wheel fins are angled to compress more air per rotation.
I just bought one which is stock. What an amazing car honestly. It’s so much more fun than a golf. Plan on slowly doing mine up, maybe not that much power but who knows.

These make basically the same power as the tuned mk7R when fitted with same is38 turbo

Is12 is the stock turbo for the 1.8 ea88 fen 3.engines! I have the same power in my ibiza cupra 1.8 manuel!

It’s pretty impressive getting this much power out of this engine but surely it would hop along the road when you try put the power down? Also, I wonder how bad turbo lag would be when driving normally.
Diff, polybushes, good quality stiff coilovers, stiffer engine and gearbox mounts and good sticky tyres and the polo will put down 300bhp with basically no complaints, minimal torque steer and no wheel hop. Never sat in or driven one over 350 so can’t vouch for that but I imagine it’ll just spin the wheels rather than any bad hopping

All the wiring n gearbox from 6r polo compatible with the golf r engine?
Or it need to be swap with whole front cut?
at first place why would you swap out to older generation engine ?
mk6 gti fitted with ea888 which is likely much more modern compared to ea113 in mk6r .. but yes older engines are more upgradable
I drive a 2017 Polo Gti 6c. I prefer these over the new shape AW polos. How a polo should look 😂 also the Dsg in these are the DQ200 box which are the least bit reliable
Only plus point of the AW is the good dsg box, pity the 6R/6C got an absolutely awful box
The 6c is also faster than the aw gti (better compression ratio, shorter gearing and less weight)

Really miss my 6c polo gti. Had stage 1 tune in it. It had 250hp and 420nm. Just an amazing car

@@truedawglbg2074 I had a DSG. the mapping was done so that the clamping pressure was increased so there would be no clutch slipping
@@mpaham cheers for replying mate nice one I've had mine stage 1 250bhp 400nm had dsg tune aswell was thinking of upgrading the clutch to a sachs or something my standard as been sound but not sure how long it will last with the power now lol
@@truedawglbg2074 stock clutch should hold fine if you dont push it too much. Upgrading the clutch is advisable if you are going to push the car. Mine didnt have any problems.

You dont need one but you can upgrade the lpfp and hpfp if you really wanted to

The Polo GTI’s these last few years have a detuned GTI and R engine. For the money of a Golf GTI you could buy a Polo GTI, tune it, new exhaust system, better brakes and new tyres and you will obliterate the GTI for less.
in india u get the polo tsi which is a 1.2 liter turbo ahhaha im planning on swapping the 1.8 into it someday B)

Anyone know if 380bhp is also possible with the DSG model
I’m looking for the answer to this question too mate. The standard DSG (dq200) I think can be ran at this level with lots of software and updated clutches but it’s it seems to be a matter of when not if it’s going to break. TVS engineering offer a dq250 gearbox conversion which can run substantial amounts more torque. Looking into it myself just have no idea about the prices yet, though I doubt it will be cheap!😂

Its expensive with used parts and installation its €7072 euro and without installation €5257 euro new parts its another + €700 euro

Is it possible to get these same mods done on the 1.8 TFSI Audi TT, very similar engine and also VAG group, I would imagine it to be similar but idk. If anybody can shine any information on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
The audi is stock 182bhp so I'm not sure exactly if its the same engine on a different tune or different.

Crazy how y'all consider a OEM turbo stage 3 over there. It's stage 2+ here and stage 3 is something aftermarket and bigger. Then stage 4 is rods, pistons and head work.
Bigger turbo off a different platform is still a turbo upgrade reason why it’s still stage 3

Stage 1=software
Stage 2=hardware and software(downpipe intake intercooler)
Stage 3= all of the above with bigger turbo etc
No point in labelling things stage 4 and beyond it just gets silly
Stage tuning is for weirdos. State your mods and power and that’s it none of this stage 2 downpipe shit

These cars a great for modifying and are relatively cheap to insure. Although the modifications to get this power can be expensive but are good for reliability unless it’s the clutch where it’s luck to get a good one or your get a chocolate clutch which goes on stock power 😂
