I don’t comment much. I just wanted to say the old cans, jars and stuff from the mining days is fascinating to me. I try figuring out what was in them. I love coming across the old cans. We were out by Gillespie dam and came across a big mining community. Had a lot of foundations and a lot of a mini cinder blocks. Sadly many were destroyed by humans. This is year I’m investing in snake guards. My eye sight and hearing has went to crap. Not wanting to get bit by a rattlesnake. I enjoy your page so much. I texts information you give to my husband as to remember what you’re telling us. I grab pretty rocks, rocks pretty to me. Certainly wish you were my friend. Cause finding a precious or semi precious stone would be awesome. I think I just grab rocks. Anyhow thank you for posting your adventures. Sad I was born and raised here in az. But don’t know about my surroundings. I do know I went 52 years never getting into a jumping cactus and our last adventure I was wearing just slip on canvas tennis shoes and stepped in dead Choya/jumping cactus. We weren’t going to walking around just riding our buggy. Anyhow now that I write a book. Thank you for your post.

I did the archaeological survey in 1992 for the Bagdad Mine expansion. The Bagdad back country was double black diamond difficulty surveying. It was also a beautiful area full of extreme nature, minerals and history.

Great cans. Good glass find. Love finding old glass and these old sites. Sites where theres history with no his story? What was life like then? How did these people survive, how long did they survive? Especially eating out of all canned food? Or was climate different? More bearable or just as hot?
