As someone who just refilled his Adderall prescription, I would like you to know that we don't all play Widowmaker. In fact, some of us play Tracer. We don't play any other heroes though. It's either Widow or Tracer.
Pharah on her own is manageable; the real problem is when she’s with a Mercy pocket.
Damage boost needs to be on cooldown, spread the word 😂

@cctq Probably a Bronze player saying that as well. Also, it's just not aim and shoot because if it was just that simple people like me would be at the very top and OW is a very complicated game. I have always been at the top even when I just barley played the game in other FPS games. OW is just a different beast all together. I only got to low diamond/high plat the first ever season I played without knowing really anything and the next season I literally did the same thing for support. But, your mechanical skill can only take you so far in this game. You have to know positioning/what heros to play on certain maps/game modes on top of knowing what they play and how you should counter the team.. To know what enemy/role you should aim for at a certain time. Because if people just complain "Hey, why do I have 30k damage and not winning." Well, could be a few reasons and I had this same mentality when I did play in the very beginning. But, if you just shoot at the F*cking tank and nothing else and wonder why you aren't winning with so much damage.. Well, that's it. When to apply pressure at certain times and what to do when they use their cooldowns. There is just so much to learn and do in OW it's just insane.
I love how blizzard made us fall in love with their characters, making every hero unique so that everyone can play the game like they want to. Then forces you to switch to win.
Blizzard didn't make us love the characters, the 3d porn artists did.

Back in December Rammattra's vortex got me into thinking there was finally a second tank that can interact with pharmercy but nope just got hard jebaited on that one.

Facts it’s great maybe when slowing down someone who’s a quick character or start from the ground but nope it was more like sticky glue than a “vortex”
I hope they increase vortex height... Like pharah can just fly above it without issue

There is nothing more frustrating than loosing because your dps refuses to switch to a hitscan
They shouldn't have to if it's not their style. Pharah needs to be reworked she's very poorly designed.
Actually what's even more frustrating is when the pharah outclasses your hitscan and they spend all game trying to kill her and nobody ends up dying because of that.
That's why I main hitscan and constantly shotgun six monsters so that I can process the enemies movement before the idea pops in their head.

YES! Especially with Mercy attached to her all the time; you have to kill Mercy first and if she knows her techs, she can attach to Pharah and zoom right back down to safety

I just usually go pharah and diff them, somehow, since most pharahs i encounter cant hit airshots
So we need a support that has an ability that just turns of healing so support can't use the healing abilitys................

I am that guy I switch it means nothing because the characters I can switch to won't help..Like I used to pick torb phara players just kill me and my turret..I pick soldier I get killed..I pick sojourn hoping my support picks mercy..Nope so phara mercy kills me again..So the only time I beat phara mercy..Is if the whole team picks her counters and everybody knows how to play there picks..So Dva,Cassidy,me sojourn,Ana, moira or me with mercy pocket..

Exactly. Mercy needs a healing nerf, so she can't continuously heal. Maybe something like a Moira or DVA where it has a bar on the side, or more like a heal drop off where the longer she holds the heal the less healing she does.

@@emmab_ I honestly don't know, I don't follow stats like that, and I hardly ever play her. I just know that when she is healing, she can heal through a bunch of damage, which is why she is usually picked to pocket tanks and DPS.
@@bronsonbgood9136 Why would it kill her off? Good Mercy players rely mostly on her movement, it's the biggest part of her kit. She would still be able to heal, it just wouldn't be a non-stop stream of heals.
The number of times my DPS are yelling at me to heal as Ana when they refuse to swap to deal with Pharah so my only option is to do their job for them, which means I can't heal them, but if I take focus off Pharah and start to heal them, the Pharah gets in my ass and takes me out, because the DPS ain't doing their job.

Add on the other support refusing to stop playing flanking Lucio, making it your job to be both the main heal output and the only one able to deal with Pharah.
You could idk play Bap which is hitscan, a direct counter to the damn character

Also Ana is hitscan scoped so how is she not a counter to phara but bap is. Also I don't care how good you are you aren't killing a pocketed phara on bap or Ana.

@@SuperThest aim assist isn't as nice as PC players think. It's not the same as an aim bot, it just slow's down your cursor a bit when you're vaguely over an enemy so you can make micro corrections a bit easier.

Bap is a great Pharah counter at support role.
Now did the Overwatch Devs look at this short and immediately come up with the support illari to counter pharaoh. That rail gun looks very interesting

Exactly I was actually hopeful for ram to counter her because the abilities at first looked promising but then when I realized vortex didn’t really do much at a certain height and was more of a slowdown and his primary even though it has no damage falloff needs to be hit consistently and it’s a projectile I was hoping for something a bit more.

@@sageofsonganged tank makes no sense. Every character has three things with two being strong and one weak: damage, health, and mobility. Lots of health and damage with poor mobility (JQ, Hog, Mei, Reaper), a lot of effective health and mobility with poor damage (Winston, Ball, Mercy, Lucio), or a lot of damage and mobility with poor health (Tracer or Genji). There’s some outliers but most fall into these three roles.
A ranged tank would have to be immobile otherwise you could never close the gap to deal with it, it wouldn’t be able to have too much health or it would be unkillable since it’s designed to play at range, and it couldn’t have much damage because it would be like an even more oppressive Widowmaker. A tank like that would be impossible to balance. It would be like giving Widowmaker 400hp and tuning her oneshot down to do 190 damage per headshot to “compensate” lmao

Flats "problem" is why they made brig to counter tracer. a good bap or ana can easily take down a pharah in the metal ranks, or atleast make her too scared to pop up. a tank should not be made to counter pharah its not their job to. But yet, there are doom one tricks out there who are CRACKED and can kill a pharah easy.
#1 widow vs #1 pharah comes down to skill and positioning. who ever makes the mistake is dead. thats how it should be

At lower elo they can't the phara..It's not that they don't want to..Hitting phara requires great aim..Also it requires her team not to attack you..And that doesn't happen so you lose..

This. Usually when my DPS is struggling to deal with Phara, I'll take it as a personal mission to gun her down as Bap, I don't get mad at my team for not being able to hit her, I get it. What annoys me, however, is once I start focusing the Phara, NOBODY stops the enemy tank diving me while I'm trying to shoot the bird down... So it becomes a game of Phara dominating my team while the enemy tank practically hunts me down for daring to touch baby Phara.
Edit: As a bonus too, I'll sometimes then get the old "DPS Bap, heal!", at which point I just switch off and emote with the enemy tank.
I'm usually ana, and I TRY to kill the pharah, but usually the moment I do half the enemy team starts shooting at me or somebody on my team dies.

Yeah cuz looking up makes you vulnerable. Whenever I try to kill the pharah my team can get the enemy team off my petite ass in time
As an Ana main and I'm also able to play Baptiste... I can shoot down Pharah and mercy, however if I'm stuck constantly shooting down Pharmacy then I can't heal my team... And I get so frustrated. They're like heal me and I'm like if I don't kill them, we're all dead.
I feel this to my very core, I can solo a phara as Bap easily but if she has a Mercy then the most i can do is scare her away but I'm not a dps, my main priority should NOT be a phara

@@cristhelivingradio1400 Alot of people are specialists, Noone wants to be a all rounder because it takes so much work. Thats all it comes down to. Some people only stay in their comfort zone. Doing bad for a few days while they get used to a new hero is to hard for them.
Just use game sense, track where the pharah usually comes from and then play in a place where the pharah cannot shoot you. Alot of the time theres places where she can't shoot you but you can shoot her. Especially in your elos where people will make alot of mistakes. Also, With bap you can shoot in-between healing and its the same heals per second, So no real excuse.
@@WorldKeepsSpinnin honestly, fits my description pretty well, tho as a support player i dont have much to worry about. now i think ive had at least one good game on every hero, except doom and winston because i dont like their playstyles. though, that doesn't mean im comfortable with picking them, because i dont know how to play them, i just click buttons and it somehow works out... which is why im a two-trick... mainly on mercy, of all heroes, and kiri in other cases. tho i do know the basics of every support, i make plenty of mistakes on them bc im not used to them at all

Thing about Pharah is when there is a Mercy Pocket it becomes a literal team effort. Unless you are just blasting them with Widow or Ashe. Or just never miss heads on a Pharah float peeking over a building. Just swapping to hitscan isn't enough, in fact I've had much more success as Ana because usually I have a DPS swap to hitscan and both of us combined can deal with them. But when I try use any DPS character by myself to handle a Mercy Pocketed Pharah, no support wants to look their way or pocket me in return. In turn we get farmed and my team throw their hands up and look at me because the Pharah pocket they act like doesn't exist is still alive. Picking hitscan makes mfs think you should just 1v2 them ig

I mean… why are you expecting to win a 2v1? Swapping to a single hitscan shouldn’t counter two heroes playing synergistically unless you pick Widow and are cracked. If you have a Mercy pocket too, then the fight is only equal at that point and if you’re *still* having trouble, then there might be a problem.
If you’re on a hitscan by yourself, and the supports aren’t helping you either by going Zen for discording the Pharah, Mercy to pocket you, or Ana/Bap to help you shoot the Pharah, then the issue is with them and not you. You may have to ask them to play one of the four that can help because some people are just bad and may not even recognize you need help with them lol
I play Zen. And nothing annoys me more when the whole team ignores me and the one DPS person trying to deal with the Pharah. I've practiced trying to hit air shots on Zen, I got pretty decent at it. But best I can do is throw orbs up and hope i can do enough pressure to help my hitscan DPS.
Sometimes I make it my own personal mission to get close to Pharah and kill her myself, the air/vertical shots, while still hard, are much easier for me to hit when I can up close to her.
@@razrv3lc Pharah is the definition of forcing unfair fights if it's a 1v1. a hitscan stuck on the ground innately is at a disadvantage. Hitscan has to hit the shots, the Pharah just has to shoot close enough. The farther up she is, the more this problem is amplified in her favor.
on top of that, Pharah forces them to look up. hard to pay attention to everything else going on. Its partially the same issue people have with Widow. Simply existing is enough to sway the tide of the fights.
Lower tiers, hitscans can't hit her. Higher tiers, Pharah doesn't miss her max damage range.
This is why in most hero shooters that have flight characters, those characters tend to have a larger hitbox. She's just a menace.
Dont get me wrong, i'm not saying she needs to be nerfed into the ground, but in a team based game, she holds too many cards.
i play mercy and im always surprised when nobody targets me, theres been times where i just hold left click on someone whos on 20hp and surviving because of me, and no enemy turns to look my way. makes my job easier, i guess.
tho, if im mercy against a pharmercy, i always pocket the hitscan, and id even dmg boost an ana if shes scoping in on the pharah. also, sometimes our dps goes pharah or even echo (echo is honestly good against pharah), and we manage to diff them lmao

I've completely destroyed pharmercy with winton before. Its hard but it has to be the only thing you focus on.

Dive their backline and the pharah is effectively useless. You have to have proper timing though.

@@youtuberobbedmeofmyname Winston deals 60 dps plus reload, Mercy heals 55 hps without reload. Factor in the CD timer for his leap and the short period of time that he has to inflict damage to Pharamercy, and you'll realize that you need your team to aid you in taking them down.

Bap and ana are good counters, but against a GOOD pharah(with a pocket), at best i chip away at her health. I could not elim her and then it comes down to my team's dps.
@@luescomez7464 Bap is really solid against pharah though. Especially if the other team doesn’t punish the super bounce… even with the Mercy you can keep her in check. Probably won’t kill either of them, but keeping two people in check as a single support is worth it

Let rammatra's vortex extend to an infinite height so it can pull down any flying enemy immediately to the ground.
Instead of just used to slow down enemies at a choke or to run away. I feel like that was the original intent but they didn't go the extra mile.

It clearly was their intent as they showed an Echo being pulled in for the reveal trailer... idk why tf it even has a maximum height if it's specifically to deal with flying heroes... So dumb. It wouldn't even be unfair/lacking counterplay as the AoE isn't really that large and is super easy to dodge.

As a Baptiste player i love making Phara 1 hp but my team ignores her so she can fly away. (actually lost a round because of this)
I felt this in my bones lol. When I see Pharah as a support I immediately go Bap but then my team just forgets that she exists and doesn't finish her when I have her or Mercy 1hp.

The thing about pharah is she feels oppressive when you're playing against her but the same time she's also miserable to play if there is even a half decent hitscan dps on the enemy team. I think she's ironically pretty balanced because when she's in a game, neither party is having a good time.
In gm phara is not balanced, watch yznsa play, every one of the hitscans hes against are high top 500 players. Pharmacy is just broken in ranked
@@grxve___ He's the best pharah player in the world and has been for a very long time. It's no surprise that he is good at the hero and can win his unfavorable matchups. By the same logic Winston and Doomfist must be unbalanced because Bogur and Zbra can outplay their bad matchups.
@@ZaWrldophamercy is an actual problem. A contenders team literally had a pharah one trick roll a couple of OWL teams (one of them being Boston uprising). OWL hitscans can’t even deal with pharah. Nonetheless, that was also their downfall since in maps where they couldn’t run pharah, they just lost. But this shows that in EVERY skill bracket, a good phamercy is almost unstoppable

@@shutup11337 (assuming ur talking abt twisted minds and LBBD7 in pro am) it worked bc they run a full comp around the pharahmercy (in possibly the weakest hitscan metas to date). also they didnt beat boston they beat nyxl, lost to defiant and houston.
I used to be able to beat a solid amount of the Pharahs I played against while on Orisa(it was VERY hard but I managed), but now that her damage range is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter and her overall damage output is decreased, there's just nothing to be done. And boy oh boy if there's a Mercy pocket... I'm jus sent back to the lobby😂
I was complaining about this a while ago. Tanks have no good ranged options and I get why but if everyone else just stays out of range tanks are screwed. Supports can kind of deal with her but you really need hitscan. Ana is fine but Bap has damage fall off.

He may have damage fall off but Bap is still smooth as butter against Phara. I am a certified Bap main (getting to the point of being a OTP Bap... kinda embarrassing ngl) and I LOVE when the enemy team tries to go Phara, she's just such an easy target for me. The accuracy of the burst makes landing your hits on her really easy.
The main downside to dealing with Phara as a Bap (or any Support trying to counter a Phara for that matter) is the fact that you need to be looking up in the sky to deal with her, which can distract you quite a bit and can cause you to lose teammates while you're busy with the Phara. She also just straight up ignores Immortality Field too so there's that to watch out for.
On the plus side, if you have good map knowledge and can time/position yourself correctly, you can actually bunny hop out of range of each of her rockets which is HUGE (Something Ana struggles with, actual survivability against the Phara if the Phara dives her)

If I'm not on dps and i see a pharmercy the game basically ends there unless our dps have something to say.
I think they should buff Ramattra's vortex so it goes all the way to the skybox, or at least have it go higher. The reason being, when someone is SO far in the sky, trying to aim the vortex where that flying hero is would be MASSIVELY difficult so it would definitely to be skilled to pull it off
It NEEDS to go to the skybox as pharah with a rocket at your feet+the launch can get you insane height.

My issue with Pharah is that she can essentially back line without actually having to back line.
Problem with pharah is she forces so much attention away from where it needs to be. She doesn’t group with the enemy team, she’s usually behind your team, up in the air, a mile away, shooting rockets. So then DVA has to abandon the team to kill her, or Ana has to stop heals. It’s just a pain.
Divide and conquer.
Sounds like off angling away from ur team is the way to win regardless of the hero

Abandon the team? to dive? as a dive hero? How tf is doing your job abandoning the team? If you kill the pharah, you're literally saving your team by making it a 5v4.

People in gold/plat have been pretending since OW1 came out that a single hitscan on your team means Pharah can't play the game, and as soon as Pharahs stopped floating in the wide open the solo 76 or Cassidy had no prayer.
This just happend to me yesterday, a zen complaining about pharmercy not being taken down because I was on a hitscan. I told him that taking them down needed to be a team effort not just a single hitscan problem. He goes in saying "give me bap, I will take take of the it since the dps suck."
I always pocket my dps against a pharah. It’s such crap in metal ranks when they yell at dps and it’s a 1 v 2 and our hitscan has to hit their shots and the pharah lives on splash damage.

Same issue in masters. I am a pharah main and the whole enemy team argues whenever they can't counter me just bcuz they picked a hitscan. Or sometimes my team asks me to swap no matter what my stats look like, bcuz they have a hitscan.
Every time I see Phara as Brig, my eyes get a little bit darker...

As a support main, you just have to sit there and watch the enemy team hard counter everything your team does and fail in. Have no hitscan and stagnant supports/tank? They switch pharmacy. Have a dva putting in work? They switch bap+symm. Supports putting in too much work? They switch sombra+tracer and literally terrorize supports. You have to hope your grade school team can outsweat the OWL rejects and that your damage ACTUALLY DOES DAMAGE. As a support main, i feel almost useless outside of my ult due to just how counterable everything is
Supports are literally the most powerful class in OW and you still complain 😂

@@BTRshow yeah that guy is just either ignorant or delusional, im a new player and watched all manor of videos and checked gameplay and leaderboards, any character can be really strong ehh well not life weaver but that doesn't mean support heros are the strongest, far from it as well, they can have a bit more survivability due to them being able to heal over time and not neading to be in the frontlines but that's it!

As a Pharah main, the best compliment you can receive is when half the enemy team switches to hitscan just to counter you.
I'm not aware of any other hero with that much influence over an opponent team's composition. Maybe a Widow with prescription?
I'd say this applies to good doomfists. Usually if the team is getting doom stomped at minimum the dps goes sombra and at worst all three roles try to counter swap.
There’s a lot of DPS that are similar. A good tracer will do the same, a good echo will as well. I’m an echo OTP and most of my games the enemy team goes double hitscan after the first team fight, I always laugh and call them out 😂
I play ball and I very consistently get games where both DPS switch to try counter me, usually to sombra mei or sombra reaper.

I definitely agree(totally not because I’m on console). Pharah alone is annoying to kill. Now I can hit my shots decently enough and kill her but not all my friends and rando’s can.
Pharmacy is an even bigger menace for us on console. Especially with the new mercy techs like pressing crouch or jump at the end of guardian angel. Before mercy could only really fly to pharah in OW1. Now she can zip all over the place making it ten times harder to kill either of them.
Nah pharah is so not a problem on console. I go bap and the aim assist just aimbots her for me

I honestly think they need to rework her in a way that you don’t need a hit scan to deal with her. Like she has to be on the ground for a certain amount of time to refill her jet pack fuel instantly instead of it refilling over time.
Here's a simple fix make her play like rocket jump soldier
Or give us a longer range tank that is permanent strong long range (ramattra isn’t that strong long range), then we’d have a way to hit easier for tank since zen gives us long range support at least

there just needs to be more options for long ranged hitscans for support and tank
Support kind of has it with bap and Ana (zen still has range and creates good pressure with discord but overall has no movement and isn’t hitscan) but tanks like flats said outside Dva (Orisa used to do alright but then they nerfed her damage range and output) there isn’t anyone you can rely on for that so they either have to add another tank for next season which has more of a range focus (because all tanks are now designed to be closer in range like where a point or objective is) or maybe buff ram’s vortex to be able to stop pharahs from flying over unscathed
@@4070superanged tank would be impossible to balance. It couldn’t have good damage (and would wind up needing a lot of health and mobility to compensate) so it would be like playing against a beefier Widowmaker or Ashe but with not enough damage to actually accomplish anything. It couldn’t have good mobility because you’d never be able to close the gap on it (and since there’s no mobility, it would need high damage and health which does NOT work on long range heroes-Widow has 175hp because of this and she’s still oppressive). It wouldn’t be able to have a lot of health because if you did close the gap, it would either one tap you or run away with mobility (both things it would have to have to make up for having low health).
As a support I usually play Ana to counter Pharah, but against the good ones (that doesn't fly out in the open, use the map natural cover to protect himself), these are the hard ones to deal with

in my opinion she is one of the most poorly designed characters. She is pretty awful without a mercy pocket, but with one your entire team will have to make changes to beat her most likely. It's not like she takes a whole lot of mechanical skill to be a threat either. I'm a supp main, I play dps sometimes but my aim is pretty rubbish and I just don't play any hitscan characters besides sombra, so I end up relying on fellow DPS to deal with her, it sucks...
The strategy I've adopted when playing tank/supp vs pharmercy is to go after the other support. The mercy will have to leave the pharah or the rest of her team will have no healing.
Then u play/ed vs bad/average pharas, a decente slightly above average para Will kill your backline and maybe both dps and when u killed the other support you are alone 😂

That's exactly what I feel playing support or dps vs a really good tracer, genji, doom or ball. Besides Ana's sleep (which isn't always that reliable vs high movility heroes) I feel really powerless as, without any forma of cc, I can do nothing but try to "dodge" some dmg while attempting to deal damage to them as well. And if my tank does not play a stun hero and peel for me then I just can't play the game anymore

Pharah and Widow both need MASSIVE reworks
I think the damage role needs reworked in general, so many dps tear apart tanks with ease now or are insanely strong in general because they have to be strong enough to contend with the fact that (most) snipers can 1 shot them. Because of this they can't nerf snipers because then those dps will obliterate the meta with little to no checks. Blizzard did not think about how much one less tank impacts the game and it shows

Pharah is one of the only dps that doesn’t need to care about tanks. Every other dps is constantly being chased around by over tuned tanks with too much damage and defence, but pharah just sits in the sky spamming splash damage rockets that deal large damage and require low precision.
What is “unbalanced” about pharah is that she can avoid something that everyone else has to deal with - the tanks.
As a pharah player, it is always the enemy dps to deal with me when I'm playing her

Thank yoooou 🤗 I'm SICK of people giving Mercy a free pass and always blaming the problem on Sojurn/Widow/Ash etc when the real probelm is the zero skill hero that just sits there holding blue beam on a DPS and turns them into a murderous wrecking ball.
Then DPS inevitably gets nerfed when the obvious fucking problem is Mercy and her dumb ass Damage boost that has NO COOLDOWN. (Zen has very similar design issues imo)
People don’t realize this…. Mercy creates so many issues in the game with her damage boost alone. I’m an echo otp and even I say that 😂 but nooo the issue is always the balanced DPS and not the broken hero designed for two tanks instead of one. Honestly there’s way too many mercy mains, the GA nerf last season and the revert this season proves that they can never nerf her because the low skill mercy mains will throw a fit.
The main thing about Pharah is less killing her and more getting everyone on your team to not just walk straight in to her shots constantly. Even when you have the tools to take her down it becomes a race to do so before one of your team decides walking in a straight line down a long corridor with no cover is a good idea and dies.

They need to do something to either limit the flying dps' ability to fly as much as they are currently, so it's more manageable to deal with or provide better options to counter them other than cross your fingers and pray your dps gets their act together. Also wierd note, but they also need to make the flyers louder, so it's easier to detect them without seeing them.
The problem is, pharah can't get nerfed because of quite unfavorable winrate, she's not picked up a lot than other dps, and she's quite balanced, but the gleaming problem is mercy, its mercy who makes pharah unfun to fight
Pharah has been one of if not the hardest dps to climb on within t500 for years now, people like yzan are so exceptionally good at the hero it inflates the overall impact people feel she has, on 90% of maps you can just ignore even the absolute best pharas in the world anyways by just running some form of ball or even rein comps on many maps, but most notably Dva Bap and an entire half of the dps roster deal with her just by looking at her.
It’s the sneaky ones that you never see they’re the issue
I’m an echo / mercy player and lately i have also been playing pharah quiet a lot and i think she has been really good lately and it’s the same deal with echo, especially after the balance changes coming up i think echo and pharah are going to be crazy in season 5

Then make Phara get one tapped by every character in the game and have the orb stick onto her until she dies or Zen manually moves it.
Over complicating abilities is never the answer. It makes it ridiculously hard for people to learn heroes if an ability is doing something different every time you use it on someone else

As a support main, I 100% agree. Even as Ana, a hitscan, I'll 2 tap a Pharah and have her low and then comes one of their supports to give her just enough healing where my 3rd shot doesn't kill her and she's behind cover....

Use baptiste. Jump really high. Shoot her with your hitscan. She cant hit you when ur mid air unless its a really good pharah
