Hey Sam. I come back this series every so often. And watching you build a sick miata is honestly some of my favorite content of yours. Would ever do a V8 or Forged miata build again? Keep it up. You've come a long way.
Sammit, a few things coming from a miata owner who has built a few engines. Don't forge the O ring on the oil pump, you'll have a bad time if you did. Also don't forget tho use a freeze plug underneath the reroute block off plate where the thermostat housing used to be on the front of the head. Anything else you may need LMK I've gotten to know these things very well after screwing around with mine. I've built both 1.6's and 1.8 but theyre super similar for the most part. 1.8's are far superior IMO due to the updated head from 99 on.

the CAS on 1.6 miatas is just a o ring i think, you should be able to find the size/dimensions when searching for it on google. people usually suggest viton o rings as theyre better for high heat scenarios

If you (or the next owner) want to upgrade the turbo it will most likely be water cooled aswell, adding the coolant reroute and using the front waterneck block off plate you will loose the easiest way to get water to a turbo, i advice you to get an AN-6 fitting welded to the block off plate and then put on a AN plug for now, it will save you a lot of work as you need to remove the timing cover to get to it!

get a 600+ gph submersible water pump which i think will move the water around more than a air pump with air stones unless u set the part u are cleaning on/near the air stone or get a small grill rack with legs that is set at the bottom of the tub than u set ur parts u are cleaning on that and set like 2x 12" air stones under that, that way the air bubbles are pushed around and thru the parts.
Dude, if you buy a little aquarium powerhead and put it in the bottom of the hot tank it would work so mint and it would circulate all of the crap to clean every pore and crevice.

I can still drive I'm just not able to pick heavy objects up yet. I love the build and wish I could ride in it or win it!!!! Love your channel

They make something sim for toothpaste idk what they are called but got a couple a few yrs back. Also glad you followed the bolt torque sequence on the head, if you don't know it for a part just start in the center and spiral out or side to side for like an exhaust manifold, the oil pan or w/e. It really helps prevent leaks.

Daniel Ibrahim its just an oil return! While engine is running oil is being pumped to head and turbo etc so there’s more than enough room for it to return to sump.

Yep, it should be above the oil level to be able to drain properly.

Looks perfectly fine to me, being on the high side of the pan, little oil can collect there, so what ever drains into it will just run off.
