15 Minute Guided Breathing Meditation for Relaxation and Inner Stillness

    This is a short guided meditation, focussing on using the breath to experience inner stillness. This is perfect when you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed or tired. It very quickly helps you relax your nervous system, connect with your breath and sink into a deep inner stillness beneath the breath.
    If you'd like a longer version of this meditation, here's a 40 minute version: • 40 Minute Guided Breat...
    You can sit or lie down...
    If you’re on the floor:
    Sit with your legs crossed. Sit on the edge of a big cushion (or a couple of pillows) so that your hips are slightly higher than your knees (this helps keep your back upright and supports your lower back). Rest your hands wherever they feel most comfortable on your knees, thighs or in your lap.
    If you’re on a chair:
    Sit with your legs at least shoulder width apart with the soles of your feet flat against the floor (or with your legs crossed meditation style if the seat is big enough and you're comfortable). Sit with your back unsupported or supported by the back of the chair with a cushion in the small of your back. Rest your hands wherever they feel most comfortable on your knees, thighs or in your lap.
    Lying down:
    Lie on your back. If you have any trouble with your lower back try placing a pillow beneath your knees, or lie with your knees bent towards the ceiling and the soles of your feet flat on the surface you're lying on. Rest your hands by your sides, or resting lightly on your lower stomach.
    Is it better to sit on the floor, a chair or lie down? - This depends on how you're best able to find a balance between being comfortable and alert. Meditation is a state of both relaxation and focussed attention, so find a position that you will be as comfortable as possible in as well as being able to focus on your breathing without falling asleep (unless you want to of course!).

    Almost over a year, I’ve been listening to either this or the thirty minute bone deep meditation every work day.

    I feel amazing and so relaxed after this. Did this before bed and could totally pass out. I could have laid there without wiggling my toes and fingers because it feels great to be deeply relaxed. Such a great meditation!

    I find this so relaxing with the gentle sound of the waves. If I’m feeling any back pain or discomfort in any part of my body I use the quiet time to repeat to myself “My body is healing” or whatever is relevant as I breathe in & out. A bit of relaxation & positive affirmation always helps me. I enjoy a number of your meditations & it’s useful to have varying lengths to suit the time available. Thanks Caroline for your great work which helps so many. ❤️

I often find myself with your meditations in a place between sleeping and being awake... really relaxed, dreaming a bit, but to some extent also aware of the room and everything.     Caroline- I don't think an ad from walmart is appropriate during a meditation- do you? It was at 5'10'' mark of this video.

      I’m so sorry that happened Don. My settings are set to no ads during the videos or at the end, very rarely people tell me they get ads in the middle and I have no idea why, it really shouldn’t happen. All I can think is that it’s an occasional TH-cam glitch. I find it really upsetting too - I put so much care into the videos, because I really want to help you guys meditate and the last thing I ever want is for that to happen! I really hope and expect it shouldn’t happen again.
