    I agree good job Scott
    Certainly like to do mine
    The problem I have with mine a 1982 manual at 110 miles it’s simply unreliable😩
    My car is in immaculate condition and it’s a classic Love Hate relationship sadly,and I have found no one really wants to know😩
    Getting new parts,is getting rarer and harder
    I’m not looking for 600 hp 400 would fine and a 6.2 LS engine would be spot on✅
    They really are a true GT touring car (Not a Race Car)

    Awesome vid - lookin' at a 350 SBC 80 928 w your conversion and had some questions if the rear mounted trans was still used - or if they made a new tunnel etc. This answered that - looks like the rear mounted 928 trans stays. Thanks for building a great kit - hope to possibly be the owner of a Chevy powered 928 soon!

    Wow - sure regret selling my 928. Especially now with the e-rod setups.

    Can you use an automatic trans on this application? Such as 4l70-e or 6l80-e.

    Do you do any suspension or chassis modifications on the car? What is the torsional rigidity of a 928?

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On this car, there was an upgraded Bilstein suspension package with adjustable height coil-overs and some aftermarket sway bars. However, this is not really necessary for street driving. The chassis is very strong, but if you are looking to put an engine and transmission in the front and a pumpkin in the back, it is not designed with that in mind. This chassis is specifically set up for a torque tube. I have raced 928's in the past. Once you remove roughly 900lbs of interior, wiring, and unnecessary systems, you have quite the nice platform for track driving...especially with the conversion which saves even more weight!

    What is the lower end engine (NA) cost for an LS or small block that would fit in a 928? Does your shop source motors for a customer build? I have a beautiful 928 (on the outside) that is due for a motor and these swaps have been on my mind.

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As little as $1500 out of a salvage yard with low miles! Look for the 5.3L truck engines based on the LS Series of engine blocks. Thanks for asking!

    I have a 1983 Porsche 928s 108,000 original miles, it's a project car. Would you happen to know how much the cost if I just had an engine swap, done at your shop?

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for asking. There are so many variables built into that question that it's somewhat impossible to even give a ballpark figure. However, the best thing to do is to give us a call so we can discuss further. Don't worry, this is not a way to suck you in with a sales pitch. It's honestly a effort to get more information so the answer is more accurate. Call us at 702 739 8011 or email at info@renegadehybrids.com!

    Hi! I would like to ask for advice because as soon as I finish high school and earn my first money I would like to buy a 944 and make a custom out of it. which engine to choose up to 8,000$ and maybe some necessary things that you need to have?

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very best advise is, DO NOT buy a Porsche as your first car...especially a 944. Go buy a Miata or a S2000. Then, for your second car, the 944 is OK. Save your money and convert it later. Now it's awesome. At least you know we are very honest!

    I noticed that the plates on the car were from California. So are you guys getting it bard? Cause it sounds like it due to using the cats for the engine.

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  ปีที่แล้ว

      The engine is an LSA Erod GM Performance product. 50 state smog legal!

    People want to do a Right hand drive conversion in a German car? 🤷
    Ummmmm..... OK?
    But that is a really neat build for the 928. Looks great

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If their car is already Right Hand Drive, the V8 conversion can still be done. We are not changing the driving position from left to right.

    Single 3" exhaust for a 500+horse engine? Really

    • @RenegadeHybrids
      @RenegadeHybrids  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You do know this LSA is an ERod 50 state smog legal engine, right? You are quite familiar with the four catalytic converters that are required to run with this package, correct? And, the primaries on this ERod are only 2.25 inch per side, right? Oh, and obviously the back pressure on the remaining system is basically non-existent, agreed? It was dynoed over 500HP at the rear wheels on a very pessimistic Mustang Dyno. Yes, Really!

    • @derrelcarter9401
      @derrelcarter9401 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RenegadeHybrids if the owner is happy with that output you are golden. I also know what size exhaust the engine on gm production cars was equipped with, what size the aftermarket exhausts for those same cars were and what the flow capacity of a clean 3" pipe is. The power adder mitigates that to some degree as well. It comes down to the owner is happy and nothing else. The extra smoke for an orifice I ain't gonna allow it into is not required. Damned NICE work

    Wow just saw the finished post it took 2 years to get finished? 🤦🏿‍♂️ was that a money issue from the customer standpoint or time on yours… actually come to think of it when I got a tour of the shop back in 2020 you showed me this car lol… getting ready to put some money into mine but that kind of wait time is scary… guess I’ll be saving my money and going full #godd.I.y.squad

      This car ended up in "paint jail" twice, then "upholstery jail" once. It came to us after paint when we were right in the middle of other huge projects. Then, the customer added a ton of additional items to the build. No, he was NOT the fault at all. Actually, he was awesome. He did say, "It took a long time, but it was worth the wait!"
