Created in a galaxy-wide civilization filled with other sentient lifeforms, forced to die from a confusing existence while greeting a guest like you are programmed to. Yes. They were fully sentient, and felt emotions, pain, and everything else. For some reason people laugh and cheer when a droid gets decapitated or falls off a cliff, but when it’s a clone that dies a quick and painful death, people cry and mourn for the clone. Oh well.

  • @Voltaic_Fire

    It makes you wonder why droids, especially scout and long range models, weren't fitted with small unfolding solar panels (or scifi equivalent) so they would never have to face running out of power and instead could enter a low power state while waiting to fill up their batteries. Kind of like the real life scout robots we send to other planets.

    • @connornorberg4402
      @connornorberg4402 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably the same reason clones and their equipment are phased out in the early stages of the empire, and why as a result the storm troopers and their equipment are less effective; the cost of production would be too high. If you're producing millions or billions of something even a minute reduction in cost of production per unit will save you tons of money. Corporations in the real world will pay people ridiculous amounts of money to reduce production costs per unit by only a few cents USD for high volume products.

    At 1:34 just imagine this scene except replace the Droids with Tusken Men, Women, and Children. Pretty much shows Anakins Mindset when he rushes in. It makes me think that in some small way he enjoyed killing people unarmed or not. An this is coming from a guy who is friends with two droids and understands them deeply. But don't show that to these droids who are forced cause of them being programed that way from their creators.

    In the defense of number 5, most Clones or Jedi's first reaction to seeing Battle Droids is to attack, given how much they get shot by them on a daily basis, like how Wreckers first instinct in episode 2 of the Bad Batch was to do just then we those scare crow-like B1s popped up. For number 3, the Malvolance was an evil battleship that had claimed many lives, so destroying it was of massive importance. And I kind of can't take an issue with number 2, because I did the same thing a lot in the Lego Star Wars the Clone Wars video game.
    Also, it looks like the only time in a TV series about the Clone Wars that the Republic ever takes Droid prisoners is in that one bit from the opening segment of the Bad Batch's first episode.

      In defense of #2, The Droids were one their way to kill some clone troopers, and Yoda did provide a distraction in order for the troopers to survive. Also the droids were shooting the chest area of their fellow B2. If the droids wanted to stop their comrade from shooting at them, they should've shot the arms off. Count Dooku didn't have to kill those pirates that way and it was rather excessive.

    • @zexalbrony4799
      @zexalbrony4799 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tntproductions1996 Also, good point. Number 2 was in the middle of a war zone with troops about to be overwhelmed and killed if Yoda didn't do what he did. Now what he did to that Droid that just got prompted later in the episode and those Droids that tried to run that was overkill, but this moment not so much.

      @@zexalbrony4799 But Yoda could have killed all the B2 with a force push (as he ended up doing at the end) instead of making them shoot each other which is much more cruel.

    🤔 . . . As long as the droids’ Episodic Memory Modules are intact, their Souls could live on forever. There is, of course, Semantic Memory Modules & Procedural Memory Modules, which are basically Modified copies of Episodic Memories…
    Expand upon this? Because even though the clones technically didn’t rescue the droid that fell, it could’ve been retrieved for its Episodic Memory Module. And even when Yoda took control of the B2, I’m pretty sure he didn’t outright destroy their Souls, i.e. Episodic Memory Modules…
