Can you imagine how these theatre organs must have wowed the public back in the day? If i ever get over to the US, i would definitely want to visit organ stop pizza!
WOW! Fabulous, Charles. The Byrd Theater in Richmond was an incredibly grand movie palace in its heyday - that chandelier is awesome! And the Wurlitzer Organ is deservedly iconic - ninety-six years old and as thrilling today as no doubt it was back in 1928 . . . even though the new 'talkies' restricted its primary use, which was to bring musical life to silent films. Your take on Gershwin's 'I Got Rhythm' showcases another mesmerizing side of your organ-playing brilliance and it was a performance of verve and great fun. You're always hugely entertaining and your enthusiasm for all things organ is just infectious - thanks for a great treat . . . and . . . B R A V O !
It is because of this organ that there's a 4 manual Wurlitzer in the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Indeed, the celebrated San Francisco Fox Organ. Dick Cook, president of Disney's Buena Vista Distribution, experienced the Byrd organ in his youth and when the El Capitan Theatre restoration came around in the 1990's, he wanted a 4 manual Wurlitzer like at the Byrd for the theatre. Processes found the Fox organ in storage and it has been playing at the El Capitan for 25 years in thousands of shows.
You should go to Mesa Arizona, and play the largest Wurlizter organ at the Organ Stop Pizza restaurant. Its a fun time. I guess it's the largest since it has alot of added sounds to it.
He would have to go to Franklin, WI to play the largest Wurlitzer theatre organ. The organ installed in a warehouse at Carma Labs (makers of Carmex) is bigger than the Organ Stop Pizza instrument, which has 82 ranks of pipes. The last official number I saw for the Carma Labs organ was 90 ranks, but it has likely grown some by now since it's still a work in progress.

The VOX-FROGGER! 🙂
Can you play Tetris on it?
Should have let Bob have a go at the organ!
He did I just didn’t put it in
You play around far too much and don't just play nearly enough.
Wise words
