I did one of these at a comic con a few years back. It was pretty fun over all, though most of the 'dates' were just the girls working the con for the speed date company. I had pretty bad social anxiety so doing the thing was more for over coming that than walking away with love. It helped a lot and I ended up getting a few numbers (and even a date) out of the whole thing. Long term, though, I got to be more comfortable in my own skin and handle rejection a lot better as well. I appreciate you not crapping in these dudes or this concept over all.
@@TypicalCynic_ it took a while for me to get past this. I started small and with inconsequential interactions. I also worked really hard in not trying to live inside other people's heads. I will never know how people actually see me, only best guesses and made up narratives- so why not make a narrative where I think people view me as pleasant? It also was important I changed how I talked to myself internally. Self talk is important and I was using really awful language to describe myself. Things I would never say to a friend or even acquaintance. Once I could start to change that the other pieces started falling into place.

I won’t name them but they seemed like nice people at first but over time my ex step father became an alcoholic making us feel worthless and even beating us at some points along with his son doing the same. Luckily me and my brother and mother got out of there and sorted out the situation and now are safe but I suffer from light PTSD and Insomnia along with Sleep Paralysis. I try not to let it affect me as a whole but it is hard some days.

This man has so much confidence. This shows you don’t need to be the smartest or the most attractive. Or even really that good at anything. As long as you have confidence and feel comfortable in your own skin. Take it from me. I am smart and a model student in school. I do rowing and Volleyball along with Cadets. I have great friends and an amazing family and overall good life. Even though I have had past trauma. Overall it is all going alright. But unlike this guy, I hate myself. Hence forth I have the most respect for Joey. I hope he keeps getting that love.
Hey bro, your story sounds very similar to what I was dealing with a couple of years ago. I hope you find happiness within yourself. I know it's hard, but it is definitely possible. Now go look at yourself in the mirror/phone camera and tell yourself you're awesome because you are! And try to say it consistently until you truly believe it.

I think I hate myself due to the fact I have high expectations from my family Legacy and overall pressure. I feel like I am never good enough no matter what I win or what test score I get or if my art is put in a gallery. However thank you very much. @@mar._.wav6 Of course. Thank you for asking if I was okay with it that is very kind of you. Me and my brother had an ex step father and ex step brother. I won’t name them but they seemed like nice people at first but over time my ex step father became an alcoholic making us feel worthless and even beating us at some points along with his son doing the same. Luckily me and my brother and mother got out of there and sorted out the situation and now are safe but I suffer from light PTSD and Insomnia along with Sleep Paralysis. I try not to let it affect me as a whole but it is hard some days.
