i was late to the p5 party myself when i stumbled onto it in 2019, here we are in 2022 and i'm hoping new players get to enjoy their time with this too
Royal version of persona is what i wish to see from remakes and remasters, its not just more pixels, it not only builds up on the core game it heavily addresses the flaws of the original, from being able to do things at night after dungeons, being able to max out social links in a single playthrough without using guides, it fixes akechi as a character, it dramatically improves mementos and it adds a new incredible story arc with top tier antagonist, it pushes a 9/10 game to a 10/10 GOAT material imo and thats what remasters and remakes should do.
Playing through persona 4 and 5 has been such a great experience on the steam deck, all the things you mentioned about the switch port apply, except none of the downsides. Plus with steam cloud saves whether I want to play handheld in bed, steam deck connected to TV, or on my desktop pc it's so easy to play anywhere
This is such a left field thought/comment but I actually had a moment when navigating the school in this game where I realized japanese schools are built incredibly similar and recognized the layout from megaman battle network series the foyers are almost exactly the same leading to the gym with an immediate right and class rooms to the left while the classic "student hangout" is on the roof . Considering how many years are between the games I think the Japanese found a solid optimal layout for a school and stuck with it.
The last persona game I played was P4 golden and that was the time my PSvita was still functional. I couldnt play P5 nor Royal because I couldnt afford a PS4 nor a PS5. Now that I have a really good gaming PC, I can now buy the digital version on steam this friday. I can now finally play it after 6 yrs.
I had a Playstation 4 around the time the original game came out and got it, however I didn't get far in the game due to me being lazy and never finishing games. Me and my dad decided to sell the Playstation and the games since we moved on to computers. I refuse to do it again especially since I bought the highest digital edition each time.
It's so strange with Ultimate Gamepass, we intend to buy this Persona for Nintendo Switch but now when we get it free in gamepass we will buy it on Nintendo only when it cost lower from 25 usd, so is gamepass without exclusives any good. We get many many free games on platform which is not the most ideal for tham, but when it is free we pass it on for example Nintendo. Sorry Switch and PS5 but we must wait for big sale to buy anything what we have in Ultimate Gamepass. So make the best and much more third person single player storydriven adventures and RPG exclusives than ever and keep it far from Microsoft PC or Xbox Ultimate Gamepass so you can survive. We don't need CallofHaloCry we need only third person single player storydriven exclusive reason to buy consoles.
Dunno what I was expecting but this wasn’t for me. It’s not really a game more so a interactive novel and you play like 10 percent doing little bits. It’s really good at what it does but yeah just in case anyone else is on the fence.
again with Japanese marketing which is the worst , i want to experience persona 5 but i dont know where to start , is the normal persona 5 which is free on plus enough ? ( sounds like the difference between cathrine and cathrine full body which actually isnt worth it for me ) or should i play royal , nevermind the ultimate edition , or strikers , the current gen edition is said to have some dlc's included but which ones ? i hope someone educate me on this , and really , they should learn marketing ! this is just beyond stupid
Trying hard to not be bothered saying we don't need that much more power on a Nintendo system. I mean, you're not entirely wrong, but COULD YOU IMAGINE?! Don't enable them to produce the best system they can. Seeing a powerful Nintendo system that could keep up with PlayStation or Xbox is FREAKING DREAM. That might make it where I could feel good about owning just a Nintendo console and not wanting another console for all the big boy games. Example being try playing MK11 on Switch vs PS5. Imagine it's a very similar experience... IMAGINE!!!!
My only problem with this game. Is the combat is so horrible. The story, graphics style for the time being are awesome. But is up with the hype behind it?

The most they did was give it smoother frame rates and gave it all the dlc but hell I already got all the dlc. That being said they better not make the ps4 version incompatible for ps5 to twist my arm to buy the ps5 version. I already paid full price for the og and then the royal version. I refuse to do it again especially since I bought the highest digital edition each time.
Atlus greed
Or Atlus incompetence. Choose one
Buying this game again. Can't wait to see it on my PC
One day, I'll get this. Persona 5 Royal looks amazing.
And even when you pick it up, it's beauty will slap you across the face. You'll never see it coming.
( sounds like the difference between cathrine and cathrine full body which actually isnt worth it for me )
or should i play royal , nevermind the ultimate edition , or strikers , the current gen edition is said to have some dlc's included but which ones ?
i hope someone educate me on this , and really , they should learn marketing ! this is just beyond stupid
Royal, always Royal
I didn’t believe that anyone could make one of the best modern rpgs sound boring but here it is. It’s like listening to Siri read a 12 minute review
Good review, but it's more of a Switch-focussed one, which the title did not reflect.
Still disgusting that there's no upgrade path from the ps4 to the ps5 version ...
60fps IS a big deal !
Thanks for the SWITCH review..
Bought P5 then P5R on PS4. I’ll be buying the physical Switch version, even though it’s on Gamepass. Portable gaming is the future.
I remember back when persona 5 was announced, the only reason why I even bought a ps4 was for p5 lol
IMAGINE!!!!

Have you heard of Bloodborne?
Switch isn't current gen. This is misleading. I was expecting impressions of the Series S/X or PS5.
Switch is current gen but vastly underpowered compared to ps5 / series x. Its the exact game on ps4 except 60fps
I didn't know there original P5 had flaws
My only problem with this game. Is the combat is so horrible. The story, graphics style for the time being are awesome. But is up with the hype behind it?
