commonly, there are ppl who make models and there are ppl who make animations. this guy is two in one. living legend if you will
Once you have a basic human body model, you can reuse it, adding detail, shaping it, morphing it into what you need specifically. You don't need to start from one atom always.

@@FlyCat1 Not sure if you noticed, but around 24 minutes I notice that you forgot to check the bottom of the shoe there, since her toes end up clip through the bottom shoe, not sure you fixed in the video due to you not look at the bottom again so I can't check + very fast video :v, just only want to point out. It is amazing how animation and modeling can make amazing things like this. Every detail of that anime girl is down to its slightest touches. The animator is a total talent and I love how they excel at their own work. No matter what, whoever this dude is- is an amazing person.
this actually helps a lot considering that every other blender tutorial i see is either elongated to multiple videos or its a very cheap tutorial that doesnt work in the way that i want it to. this is probably the best modeling and animation process i have seen in a while
I worked in the industry as an animator for 10 years. I was one of the animators on the film 9 produced by Tim Burton. I don't have allot of modeling experience but Ive never seen a model done this way with the separate shapes and object and then combined. Makes SO much sense! Nice work! I wanna get better at modeling. Its the one area holding me back a bit from making a few short films start to finish of my own.
holy shit that's awesome man i loved 9 it definitely had a lot of impact on how i think creatively, ive just now started getting into aspects of 2.5 and 3d animation and its really wild and since everything is so accessible its much easier to learn nowadays
9 was and still is my favorite childhood movie,my mother said it was creepy but i found it interesting and cool
@@coatMVs it's true man. There's so many tools now. I've got a surface book so I can draw on the computer and I'm really pushing myself to do some 2D animation and my work is a little sloppy and whatever but I'm actually having fun just banging the stuff out in a super loose form just enough that you can tell exactly what you're looking at and then I'm having fun with the voice acting part of it and just getting some snappy ridiculous stuff in the motion. It's one of the most artistically fulfilling things I've done in a decade.
There's so much power in just doing what we want artistically and not being too worried about people's judgment about if we've done something right or wrong or in some kind of way that impresses them. If we just do what is authentic for us and do what we enjoy making it always surprises me so pleasantly how many people connect to that as well.
@@bestdadoftheyear7181 that's so cool man. I know that film meant so much to the director Shane acker. Nothing gets made without a labor of love behind it. I was there when he literally wept for joy and gratitude working with me and the other team of around 50 or so animators and other people as well in the technical side of that film. It was an amazing group of people cool culture really fun artistically and a super unique experience. I love meeting people that that film connected with having had a hand in its creation. ❤️

Seeing all that 3d modelling processing from start to end, makes me realise how hard the developers of filming, Games Developers etc, especially with an extreme amount of details. It Mind Blowing!

this is some talent i remember when i made my first pixel art in gimp (a simple tree to be used as an asset in my unity project) i remember feeling amazing finally learning the ui beginning to use the keybinds but i see this and it makes me realize i need to strive for greater heights with 3d modelling i could do so much more with animation and game dev ive also heard blenders just an amazing piece of software in general i must learn now

This workflow is so sexy. I love how the models are being made with that beautiful topology right away. I prefer this rather than sculpting models and then doing the re-topology. I might try this from now on!

@@tiqosc1809 Well if you think about it, it's basically modeling but using the brush "grab" which is far more effective than moving vertices, edges or faces with proportional editing

I'm only on the 10 tutorial video for blender. I've seen quite a few things that inspire, and scare me about blender creations. Mainly the thought of, "How am I going to get there?!!?"

wow! all that effort to make one 3d model, we should give much more recognition and appreciation to 3D modelists and artists!! If this was in 10x speed you spent nearly 10 hours, not adding the preparation and thinking time and the years of experience to execute this in such speed. You could try watching at 0.25x speed and pay close attention to what Flycat is doing. I think you can still learn plenty from how they approach sculpting even with just their time-lapse videos. Yansculpts has some actual tutorials too.

Wow! Simply wow! How many different ideas came through my mind while watching this truly stunning performance! Stuff like "If people are created by a god, it must have been done this way" or "I wanna start 3D-modeling myself now". At first, the face was even a bit scary but I was so intrigued at the same time! And while the process of 'making' the hair was funny to watch, the process of other things like the ears was daunting (I mean, what did I expect? Being able to ever do something like that myself? xD). The result looks just perfect, which means every single step has it's own purpose and that is so freaking cool! All in all, this video definitely deserves the longest and most detailed comment I've written on TH-cam so far. Keep up the amazing work because it's a true inspiration for many others, Im sure (and I'm referring to the modeling skill, but interpret it as you like, fellow viewer)
