I never thought of Kincaid as a stereotype. He was my favorite on the 3rd one. He's a funny smartass with a hot head. I thought of him more as a John Bender from Breakfast Club type, but more likable.
I like to think of how Kincaid spoke/carried himself/his diction vs. how other characters in the series. In that he is completely unique (based on my memory) in his mannerisms. I referred to him as a stereotype since he's the only black main character who 'happens' to act a certain way. That being said, he DOES survive his 1st movie, which is appreciated, and he could've been treated worse. Also Laurence Fishburne's character in the same movie is pretty innocuous. Dunno, could've just me being too sensitive, could not. Either way, I consider it a minor quibble in an otherwise pretty gud movie!
Nightmare 4 was made during a writer's strike, which is why a lot of the writing is so paper thin. They really leaned into the special effects, which I loved as a kid. A lot of people hate 5, but I love how original the story is. It also has a really weird feel to it.
Whoa I had no idea. Thanks for sharing that info, that's super interesting! Reminds me of Heroes in a way. 4 and 5 are a bit low in my ranking, but one thing I agree with you on completely is how original the stories are. This is a series where none of the movies feel like redos in the best way. Even if I don't love the execution, the ideas each of these movies had have a special place in my heart and definitely deserve recognition.
@@PrettyboyAshtun Fair. 1st was probably Freddy at his least comedic (barring that home alone sequence of traps). For me it’s: 1. New Nightmare 2. Original 3. Dream Warriors 4. Dream Master 5. Freddy’s Revenge 6. Dream Child 7. Remake 8. Final Nightmare
@@TheUnfulfilledOne thanks! I agree, one of the ones where going up against him is an automatic L. Wish there was more variety in ways to beat him but still really enjoyed the series for all the wacky shenanigans it had!
