installation of semi rigid duct with collars dryer and bathroom venting

This is great. What are the advantages of the collars? Can't you just crimp the male end?

I'm looking for specialists who can install semi-rigid metal ducts for gas heater Braemar TH420NG under the house cause my existing insulated flexible one need to b replaced cause multiple tears & disconnects due to break in of wild animals, most possibly wild cats.
