Cécile Chaminade - Prélude Op.84/1

From "3 Préludes Op.84". Very pianistical piece but indeed also very difficult because of the high demanded tempo of 76 per dotted quarter, which I tried to pull off here. Approaching this number makes the piece exponentially more difficult ...
Honestly the most difficult part in my opinion is the mazeppa-like thirds movement where explicitly the hands have to move around at an insane speed, while still maintaining the very high degree of control of each individual finger needed to execute thirds in a smooth and correct way. Extremely difficult. Because it's easy to derp it in some way, but the clear performance is difficult. Some of these notes i edited, because moving thirds is anyways one of my worst things about the technique. Other than that, this is pretty much how I played it (as always). Published in 1896. The third prelude is also very difficult and a "show-off" piece, very impressive.

Chaminade is such an underrated composer. I'm glad the internet is allowing more people to discover her music.
