    I am happy I found you. I made the choice to become a complete vegan/ Plant base living. My A1C was 15, I was heavy and bad cholestoral. I have heart failure and many health issues that will take long to wright. I lost 30 pounds and my A1C drop to 7.2. I feel better. Now I am working on cholestoral levels. Now I am not eating fat. I am loving plant base diet. Everything taste great. Things that I used to hate now taste wonderful to me. Thank you for saving my life Chef AJ. Doctors told me that I am at death door step. I have a pace maker difribilator. It went off several times. I would have been dead if not for this machine on my chest. I am shock that food is the medicine that cures all. I should have pay attention to my great grandfather who was the medicine man of the tribe and to my mother who eats healthy. She is in late 60's but many people say that they think she is in her early 40's. she has baby soft skin, She is full of life and is as beautiful as a perfect rose.

    Last september i weighed 160lbs, by following your advice and switching from eatting a diet of bananas and dates to a diet of greens and potatoes for an entire year i am now successfully down to 123lbs!! I am so happy i have never weighed this low since highschool and without restricting and depriving myself of food. I wanted to say thank you so much for the help this past year and i am really greatful!!! Now tho, i have lost my period since April and when i did the research they say whenever you restrict yourself of healthy fats like advacodos or nuts/ seeds its common that women lose their periods due to lack of good fats in their diets. I was living a fat free lifestyle and still am until i lose the last 5lbs i still need to lose, but i feel from it that healthy fats i shouldn't be fearful or afraid of because we need it in our diets too!

      I think Dr. Greger has a comment when some fans in Israel interviewed him and one of the questions dealt with women losing period. He advised eating nuts and seeds. I know this is against ultimate weight lose but maybe losing period is dangerous.

      Yeah i think so too. And yeah i know, i only have 5lbs more to lose so i think i may start adding like 1 tbsp of seeds of something small a day and see if it affects me at all. I feel perfectly healthy and normal tho so im not too worried that i lose my period, its just i feel im eating so clean and healthy and i feel great that its weird i haven't been getting my period

    Learning SO much from you, Chef A. J. -- THANK YOU SO MUCH! Eating according to nutrient dense foods first thing has been a lightbulb moment for me. Everyday of eating this way is proving to be a real adventure. I am one of those who is eating for health and wellness, due to a ton of autoimmune disease issues ... Love your enthusiasm, your honesty & forthrightness, your passion. You're making me spend a lot of money too! LOL ... an Instant Pot, books, etc, ... but such fun! I call these Lifetime Investments, that are paying off in large dividends NOW. Thanks A.J. -- love ya bunches!

    I drank "A GLASS OF WINE" last night. That turned into 3/4 of a bottle, and that turned into 4 Taco Bell bean burritos with no cheese. Slept most of my Sunday away today as a result of the whole debacle.

    Chef AJ I have probably seen 20 of your videos and I love everyone of them, because of you I now eat a large bowl of greens everyday! I have one minor question do you eat 2lbs of vegetables before its cooked? or is it 2lbs after its been cooked?

    • @CHEFAJ

    Oh No! I missed the live program. I was waiting on line until around 6:30 est and somehow missed it. Anyway, watching now. I do have a question.... if you are not gluten intolerant, can you have flour products occasionally on your program? My family loves seitan and I have perfected a sausage recipe and I would hate to give it up. I don't have it often. I tend to avoid bread and crackers as they are my weakness. Will seitan occasionally hinder my weight loss?

    • @CHEFAJ
      @CHEFAJ  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes It is highly processed and calorically dense and not recommended for weight loss

    Chef AJ, next time you speak to Instant Pot could you ask them if they will ever be releasing a version in Australia? I just recently saved up enough to buy one (A Breville "The Fast Slow Pro" version of an instant pot) and to get one the same quality as your's it cost $330 :( . I could have gotten a cheaper one (around $140) but its steaming baskets etc were all plastic :( It would be awesome if they decided to release a model here too :)

    • @Nadege949
      @Nadege949 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Breville really makes well made products and they are expensive even in the US but $ 330 is almost as much as buying their air oven in the US.

    • @AnitaGray16
      @AnitaGray16 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a Breville "The Boss" Blender which is kinda like a vitamix (same specs from memory) and its was $700 easily. But the Vitamix here at the time was a minimum of $1200-1300 and was only exclusively from a high end department store. I think you can get a vitamix for around $800-900 now.

    • @Nadege949
      @Nadege949 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WoW!!!!!! That is really, really expensive Anita!

    • @AnitaGray16
      @AnitaGray16 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know!! I get so jealous when prices are mentioned about how cheap potatoes or bananas etc are over in the states. Over here at the moment for example Bananas are around $4.50 per kg and potatoes are around $6 for a 2kg bag - Sometimes you can get a 5kg bag for $9 though so I try and stock up when that happens.

    • @Nadege949
      @Nadege949 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ouch!!!! But on the bright side, being on a plant-based way of eating is hopefully cheaper than buying
      meat, dairy and eggs.

    the only way know i'm hungry is when i'm dizzy and feel like i'm gonna faint, and in that case, it's fruit or starch i need to feel better, not vegetable. i don't think i know what actual stomach hunger feels like. only dizzy and a ravenous anxious feeling for sugar. i'm not overweight or diabetic.

    Dear chef aj, I wish with all my fucking heart you would talk about this during wlw.
    I've been eating like you for a year. I put on 15 kilos.
    Yes I was anorexic and used to only smoke and drink coffee than eat kilos of raw salad at night.
    I quit smoking coffee and oil and salt a year ago. I was already vegan for 4yrs.
    I healed acne and got fucking fat. Well first part of the year I was eating mostly fruit so lets say 6 months eating like you except maple sirup in salad but like 3tbs max for a huuuuge salad bigger that yours. And eating nutritional yeast with the spoon. Like 10 tbsp I don't know.
    The bloating from beans was so extreme I couldn't lay down without having fiber coming back up in my mouth .
    I decided to water fast and be skinny again. I'm on day 4. I've had anxiety the two first nights. Like 2 hours of throats construction very violent. Tried to do a million activities to stop the feeling. Just passed out.
    Since yesterday, I am so angry I insult " ta gueule" my daughter 8yrs old and I scream in pillows demoniac voices saying I hate my daughter and other monstruosité things alike. This is followed by extreme sadness and tearless crying. I get so hungry I fucking slap my face and punch my thighs and than feel better but my daughter scarlett gets super scared although now I've tought her to laugh about it. Drawing old mortified faces help me a lot and cut pieces of faces with fat coming out.
    I today am so nauseous I keep puking somewhat bloody yellow stuff. The little blood would be from injuries from my toothbrush helping me purge the bile away. I've thought yesterday I need to eat. It's not worth it. I really don't want to live life hungry anymore. I don't care so much of being chubby. I can't stop fasting until the 6th day cause I receive welfare then and have no more money as I spent the last bit on eggs for my daughter and rice. So I will continue eating like you after breaking it and quit beans to never be sickly bloated as I was.
    I eat: tomatoes cucumber and carrot as first meal. Then salad or steamed veggies or both. At night the same but followed by steamed veggies sometimes dipped in nutritional yeast veggie burgers made with sweet potatoes potatoes oat rice and oats. Than I dip it in apple purée chili lime home made sauce.
    The salad dressing is apple cider vinegar pepper maple syrup and nutritional yeast.
    The desert is oats cooked in water with apple and raspberry.
    Reduced vinegar is too pricy for me and I live a zero waste lifestyle so don't exist yet in my bulk organic shops so maple sirup does the trick all thow maybe apple juice could do it. Won't purée dates I just don't want to don't have food processor .Love you talk about me telle me what to do I'll do it I love you Joanna
    Also being sensitive to the pleasure trap means that the instinct of needing wanting to survive is stronger than the rationale of knowing I've had enough of smth or acting on the knowledge that I've had enough and what does that mean about me? That I am currently a disgusting human being so fucking full of ego that I want to survive really bad. As if I deserved to survive that much? As if my life was like that important in the universe huh? Sure I don't do it on purpose my brain rationale is too week or my survival search for adrenaline in my DNA too strong whatever still it's the less humble of all diseases.
    I knew that as I watched my disgusting mother binge at night making pig sounds
    Sorry for rudeness and bad language and all just need to share hoping to really join uwl I'm gonna consult with dr lisle cause it never stops that pleasure trap I mean the fasting euphoric hormones will probably kick in by after tomorrow making me pleasured again and I just am pleasured all the time this never stops :'( wish I was strong could just live with moderate amount of pleasure

    OT: Chef AJ, I'm watching a video of you with Jeanne Schumacher "yabbut". You mention Chipoltle, is it OK to get their double bean double brown rice bowl? Checked on it and lots of sodium.
