Didn't have earphones on and it was still th loudest ring pickup ever
It’s so sad because 06 really was like a spiritual successor to the adventure series- it COULDVE been so good but it just wasn’t given the chance to be
But it was so rushed.
There's actually someone who is (or was, i haven't checked) making a fixed version of 06 for pc and it shows how amazing the game could have been
And the most accurate port in my opinion was the 06 port since it had the most similarities, even tails crash site!
It's so bad that we don't considerate it

SA1 was really a work of art, the developers made walking on a round surface work years before it was possible, even though Nintendo figured how to make it work constantly with Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, SA1 achieved it in a hardware was just somewhat better at processing 3d shapes than the N64 and PS1, maybe not to Gamecube standards but it is still impressive. If they remade the game, they could make the physics work, we've seen someone achieve this before(project hero), andd sega is perfectly capable of making the game work even better than hero in less time. Honestly I really hope that the 2021 game is just an SA1 remake.

There is no real evidence to support that claim.
And if anything, Sonic Unleashed was supposed to be Sonic Adventure 3.....but that idea was scrapped

Seeing the Forces lighting engine on a stage like this just makes me even more disappointed Sonic Team wasted it on such lackluster stage design
We should all be really thankful for Forces, honestly, as it gave SEGA a chance to recreate tge hedgehog engine, which means we can have beautiful looking games in the future, regardless of how lacking the game was.
@@Colour_YT I mean, it was pretty much a glorified tech demo if you think about how much time was put into the game in comparison to how much time the devs were making the Hedgehog Engine 2 itself. Said engine was in development for about 3 of the 4 years between the start and Forces' release iirc
tbh i find the 06 lightning more pleasant to the eye and prettier
@@Colour_YT I hope so. I mean, Sonic Unleashed and Generations did a great job at making the world beautiful, and Unleashed was using Hedgehog Engine 1. They better manage to get a grip on the engine.

This is the best introduction stage for Sonic! I played this level on the Dreamcast demo disc and then bought it for Christmas. Those were the days! I bought the Sonic adventure DX version for PS3, Xbox 360, nintendo wii and the XBox one and PS4 aka PS now gaming streaming service. This is one of my favorite games. Sonic Adventure 2 was and still is a brilliant blockbuster hit! Knuckles is the man. I love gliding and punching with him. He was the power and brawn!

@@angelicamutisayala5312 The DX one appears to be using mods that restore some of the lighting and texture work from the original Dreamcast version, along with an enhanced water texture.
you wanna know the funny thing: this level port for sonic 06 seems less buggy than the game is
I think it´s actually P-06, that would be why. P-06 isn´t even close to be as buggy as the original.
the best thing about the emerald coast shown in the P-06 mod would be how it looks the most lively out of the bunch; what with the higher amount of plant life and other things such as chairs that bring more color

the gameplay itself looks very underwhelming tho

Watching this, it just feels like we've lost something over time.
This is an interesting little study on level design and how it very much needs to work on tandem with the controls, physics, and camera of a game. When you put it in a different game's engine, it doesn't really work anymore
The Forces one looks pretty good!
Yeah graphics look very cool but the camera is very glitchy

I really hipe the next game uses the hedgehog engine 2 better, and also now that they have the engine ready, they can focus on the game itself
Hedgehog Engine 2 is a like Unreal engine for Sega
They're all somehow downgrades of the original. SA2 has a low weird camera angle, 06 is too slow and Sonic falls on his ass all the time, Forces has weird camera angles and is a bit too fast, and Infinity is as always, too overpowered and has no scripted sections, making loops very disorienting.
Ikr! If sonic adventure had a better camera then it would be better!
People who showcase this game be like “I know I’m showing it off but I wanna go fast and speedrun”
Adventure: Pretty Good.
Adventure 2: A worthy step up to Adventure's Emerald Coast.
'06: With Speed Configuration and more tweaking, this could very well be another worthy successor.
Forces: The lighting was very advanced, and the use of camera angles, while off in some bits,really put the port together. It makes me disappointed that Hedgehog Engine 2 was wasted on Forces.
Infinity Engine: Wow...just wow. The gameplay doesn't fit the map, the map isn't even fully added to the port, and it just comes off as a poor port. I don't like this one.

This is surprisingly faithful to both the original stage and the respective games within the respective generation of sonic games save for the infinity engine. There was definitely a bit of creative direction on that one lol. I twitched at the end of the infinity version. The barren view was just... ugh lol

My thought on each:
Adventure: Still the best!
Adventure 2: Ok, not nearly as good but still decent.
06: More like oh shit! Sonic is too slow.
Forces: Those camera angles just ruin it for me.
Infinity Engine: Not too terrible, but I don't think it works that well with Infinity Engine controls.
the boost is the worts part :/

I like how each version of emerald coast was designed to fit each game perfectly.

A little game of keep away with the rings I see
That burst boost in Sonic Infinity would make a good edition to the sonic series, removing the "boost to win" aspect and only providing you with enough speed to get you going but not making you invincible.
Yeah but play Unleashed that game did the boost gameplay the best. Speed is your reward like in the classics and I'm really surprised people don't see that...
Disappointed that the Mad Convoy Truck wasnt programmed to chase Sonic Adventure 2 during the killer whale segment

This shows how sonic has degrees over the generations and that the original adventure has the best controls in my opinion.
I don't know if you count sonic battle as a stage but emerald coast is also in that game btw that game kicks ass

The water looks the absolute best in SA DX
the forces version is a perfect example of how important level design is. Sure it's not perfect but just look at how much better it looks when sonic is put in a larger more open environment instead of the straight narrow lines in forces. Level design is just as, if not more important than how sonic handles.
I think the boost is to overpowering in the level but it is perfect on the bridge or when he runs on the wall in the 2nd section it's just that in other places it goes a little too out of hand

06 is the Adventure 3, yes it was rushed. But then again, SA2 was made with 10-50 people. Instead of SA1's 200

I wish for a game like sonic 06 but done right, how cool would it be for stages to have slower paced parts in which sonic's speed is capped to something similar to the dreamcast and then having more open and fast paced parts with generations-like gameplay without capped speeds and the boost works like the ps2 unleashed port, where it's just a short dash and can't be used for the entire level so must be used strategically.
Man, Forces didn't even have the ring boxes at the beginning.

The Dreamcast/Modern, Sonic '06 and Sonic Boom versions of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games desperately need some Classic Sonic game -style reboots.

That Forces version highlights pretty much everything wrong with Forces' gameplay in that it has to be automated at every corner to even function properly.

The original SA on disc running on the Dreamcast is still my favorite. To me, it simply just "feels" the best. It's big and beautiful, but also doesn't try too hard to add in extra moves or physics just for the sake of making Sonic more "modern". To me, the original still takes the cake. I feel like it was the most "brilliant at the basics", and that's all I need.
Generations is about the only post-Dreamcast Sonic that kinda made me feel like I was a kid again back playing the Adventure era.
