Sonic and the Hedgehogs always feels abit silly to play but at the same time it's so addictive to just see Sonic soar through the air. Keeping Sonic's speed up is abit trickier than it appears. The boost speed changes depending on the meter color.
I mean the bumper engine can be modified to have heavier physics. There's been fangames that show this like Sonic Resistance. Also this game you have to press a ton of buttons constantly for the wall running, boost, run speed, and maintaining speed in the air, etc. (actually more than the average sonic game). That being said I do like the heavier physics more, but this game is kinda completely different than the normal Sonic game, so I give it a pass with being a fun fangame to mess around in.
@@sonicovertime i kinda of don't like fan games that present themselves as "adventure" styled and all they have to offer is just THE Momentum in a sandbox type of stage, it kinda misunderstands what made adventure so fun to play with, i'm not a fan of skipping most of the stage by simply finding a slope and rolling off of it, i much prefer a game that requires me to press buttons.
@@Sir_GrimReaper Yeah, plus most of them are too open with little to no obstacle to challenge you. Momentum is good but I want to earn it through getting past challenges, obstacles or figuring out which path to take. Stuff like that.
@@SBGamingPlus i hate that people just simplify Sonic by just "Momentum = speed = reward" people keep making these bigass stages where all you do in them is find a slope to fly instead of having to dodge obstacles and enemies.
i've been playing this quite a bit and i find wuhu island to be the best use of these controls as you can get some pretty insane speed. But it's good to know the creator actually took in some feedback about the camera as that was my biggest gripe with the game
Essentially you click down the left stick and when you do so left becomes right and right becomes left, tbh it’s a really cool mechanic and it’s fun to just see him run backwards on large stretches of land

i cant control the camera do you have a fix for this?
@@Neolimes967 I suspect Dynamic Camera is enabled by Default in the Settings. Disabling this will give you more control of the camera.

This project feels like someone took the concept that “Sonic should be momentum-based” and brought it to its logical conclusion
Gotta love how you can pretty much fly across the stage from all the speed you gain before jumping
I like this in sonic unleashed especially they tell you how fast your going and this is also really good

This game is impressive as usual and I see the potential, I just wish the jump wasn't so high you shoot over the level design.

@@IdiotRebecca251 I see, so like at the end of chunan when your being chased by that robot if you press the left bumper you go to Sonic's right.
I want the next Open Zone game to have a more acrobatic Sonic, wall jumping, wall running, and more airborne moves.
