Ordered my 2022 outback, but man I'm going to be disappointed if they don't have some updated to make Android auto full screen. A huge 11 inch display and Subaru uses the space so poorly.
@@JasonJarrettUSMC From what I'm reading, AA supports portrait mode screens, but the size of the screen or the margins aren't quite correct in the OB. Either way, looks like Subaru is blaming Google and Google is blaming Subaru, AKA nothing will get done about it.
@@pbmdh lol, sounds about right. I got my information from a regional trainer visiting the dealership, I asked him about it. Apple Carplay was the same way when the 20 Outback first came out & Apple did an update. Hopefully if enough people complain something will get done about it, cause I'm in the same boat, would like to see it use the full screen.
At this time it does not fill up the entire screen. Now I've heard a couple different things on the subject but still don't have a solid answer yet. Subaru is saying Google needs to do an update to allow it to go full screen & apparently Google is saying Subaru needs to do an update. Hopefully at some point the two can get this figured out because I would like to see it go full screen like Apple Carplay does.
@@JasonJarrettUSMC thank you for the reply. I know there was an update in May that was supposed to allow AA to stretch to fit most screens. I guess Subaru wasn't one of the makes. Looking at a new WRX but don't want to have the same size screen size as my Forester 🙄

Subaru actually doesn't have anything to do with the screen size of Android Auto. Its on Google to update the software to expand to the full screen.

Looks like the 2023 has full screen AA so it was definitely Subaru holding out! Sucks for us with 20-22
Does the android auto stretch to fit the screen now? I heard google made some updates to AA to fit different size screens properly.

@@stephendockeney I love the new WRXs, but understand where you're coming from. Really hope that at some point they make it happen.
Will these apps work if you are in the wilderness of Alaska and no wifii signal?
They would work if you have access to a cell phone signal.
