    One of my favorite parts was Mary's "clipping spray". I need that in my life. Nothing would make me feel more comfortable while cruxing than a friend telling the belayer when I'm clipping.

    Wow this "Youre so strong Anna, you can hold on forever" is such a powerful and empowering sentence. Not just for climing.
    I love 4:3. The video feels like it is straight out of 80s independent kino. very cool

    Your words here are gorgeous Anna. This actually made me cry. The part I think that really got me was to see the way @tradprincess supported you. The way she was calling down to your belayer to give you the smoothest ride possible; that thing she said, “you’re so strong, you could hold on forever”; the “you did it” when you clipped the chains-it felt really profound. Those are the people you keep around.

    The “I did it” at the end made me emotional.. that’s really the exuberant feeling of getting to the top of something challenging.
    I get really in my head when I climb and the anxiety makes me feel like I breathe too intensely, sometimes I feel self conscious about that. But seeing the strength you have and being able to hear the way you breathe through this wonderful challenge makes me feel like maybe my climbing can be beautiful too

      I also get self conscious that I breathe too intensely, I'm glad to see I'm not alone and to add power and beauty to it 🥲

    I got to live and work in Tuolumne in the early 2000’s and they were some of the best years of my life. There’s nowhere like that place. Also the raw sounds of your breathing and climbing were just fantastic and totally captivating.

    What a poetic video Anna. It really felt like how I feel when climbing. It's like if it's suddenly gives a super-sensitivity to everything around you. The ants going their way on the wall, the bird singing, the people chatting below, maybe one toe is slightly misplaced inside the shoe, maybe one drop of sweat is touching your eye. This, and on top of it, the climbing and the mental focus that goes with it at the same time. This is such a unique feeling.

    I love that you can hear so clearly the power in your breathing. The mic set up is different to most videos.
    I've always thought breathing makes a big difference to staying as aerobic as much and as long as possible.
    Any words of wisdom?
    Do you deep breath before you begin?
    Do you deliberately max breathe / breathe as hard as possible to fight off the pump?
    Are you just breathing naturally and it's the effort driving, or is there a deliberate method in breath control?

    • @AnnaHazelnutt
      @AnnaHazelnutt  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you :) the breathing is pretty intense in this one which I thought maybe had to do with the high elevation and endurance nature of the route? I find that if you just let yourself breathe without trying to shush it or control it, and give your body the air it’s asking for, you will have more stamina. It’s easy to forget to breathe through tough moves so I try to remember to keep it going especially on such a long climb like this one. Calming my breathing down on rests is also one of the most important things I try to do.
